Three Premier League Players That Could End Up At Inter Next Season

Antonio Conte has spent a lot of resources when recruited several players from the Premier League so far in his first season as Inter’s coach.

The Nerazzurri manager looks set to bring in more players next season as he looks to strengthen his squad and add more depth to the side. Considering he had a fairly successful time at Stamford Bridge and England overall, Conte is now keen on bringing in more recruits from English football.

The Italian is known for his tough training, and rigorous methods of implementing his strategies, both on and off the field. He likes disciplined players, and doesn’t tolerate any unprofessional behaviour such as partying, drinking, as well as activities that can potentially tarnish the image of the club, like for instance, doping.

Doping has caused serious set-backs in so many players’ lives. Such acts are closely monitored by the authorities too, and Antonio Conte being an epitome of discipline, prefers players who are highly professional. Let’s now tell you about some EPL players who could play for Inter next season.

Olivier Giroud From Chelsea

The France international has been heavily linked with Inter ever since Antonio Conte took over. The Chelsea striker’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of this season and reports suggest that he is willing to shift base to Italy in order to work under his former boss Conte.

The 33-year old World Cup winner is ready to take a pay cut in order to sign for the Serie A club and has come to an agreement with them too. Giroud has been overshadowed by Tammy Abraham this season at Chelsea as Frank Lampard prefers his young guns over the older players. Chelsea had reportedly blocked his move away from Stamford Bridge in the winter transfer window as they wanted Giroud to cover up for Tammy Abraham’s absence after the Chelsea starlet sustained an ankle injury.

Jan Vertonghen From Tottenham Hotspurs

After having spent nearly eight years at Tottenham and having won no trophies, Jan Vertonghen looks set to depart from the London-based club. The former Ajax player has had an impressive time at Tottenham Hotspurs, but with his contract coming to an end he will be a free agent this summer and Conte would be looking to add him to his squad. After having hinted earlier that he wants to learn a new language, his time at Tottenham looks set to end this season.

Victor Moses From Chelsea

The Nigerian national team player might still have a role to play under Antonio Conte as Inter look to finalise a deal for the versatile wing back. The Nerazzurri could make his transfer permanent after having signed him on loan from Chelsea.

The Serie A club has an option to buy him in the clause, but the Italian giants would be hoping for a cut in the asking price of 12 million euros. It’s worth noting that Moses played a key role in Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side that won the Premier League and the FA Cup, and Inter could be looking to make his deal permanent.

Inter Evaluating A Move For 20M Rated Canadian Gent Striker Jonathan David

Inter are considering making a move for Gent talent Jonathan David, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have already sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old Canadian talent, who is contracted to the Belgian club until 2023. They were impressed by his strong performances and eye for goal, being creative in both shooting and passing. The player would cost around €20 million, but considering that he signed for a free transfer two years ago and that the club have been hit hard by the financial effects of the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, his cost could even be halved.

Multiple other clubs around Europe are also interested in David, the report continues, with Lyon, Ajax, Manchester United, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund all following the player. David has made 40 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3260 minutes. In that time, he has scored 23 goals and provided ten assists.

Hellas Verona’s Kumbulla Only Wants Inter Move After Declining Napoli But First Nerazzurri Will Complete Verton ghen Signing From Tottenham

Inter are considering signing both Jan Vertonghen and Hellas Verona starlet this summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 20-year-old Kumbulla, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, turned down an offer from Napoli, as he is keen to move to the Nerazzurri instead. The deal for the Albanian will be worth around €30 million, a mixture of cash and Eddie Salcedo and Federico Dimarco, two players already on loan with the club.

Inter are thinking about signing Kumbulla in the summer and sending him back on loan to Verona next season, the report continues, in order for him to continue his development. The Milanese club would then look to sign the 33-year-old Vertonghen and deploy him next season, filling the hole left behind by the departure of Diego Godin, who seems destined for a move away in the summer.

Inter Spark An Interest In Real Betis Wingback Emerson Royal

Inter are interested in Real Betis right back Emerson Royal, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 21-year-old Brazilian is a regular player in the Spanish side’s 3-5-2 formation, playing on the right side in a role similar to that of Italian midfielder Antonio Candreva at Inter. The player has been noted for both his strong attacking and defensive qualities, which has caught the attention of Inter CEO Beppe Marotta.

Emerson has made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2145 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided five assists.

His performances with Real Betis have been notable enough that he earned a call up to the Brazilian national team last November, playing a few minutes against South Korea in a friendly match. Inter are also interested in Chelsea left back Emerson Palmieri.

Fiorentina President Commisso On Inter & Juventus Target Federico Chiesa: “He Can Go To Any Club He Wants But Only For The Right Price”

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso discussed Inter targets Federico Chiesa and Gaetano Castrovilli in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Chiesa? As we Americans say, the grass is always greener on the other side. Federico knows what Fiorentina is, who I am and our fans and where we want to go. Going elsewhere would be a risk for him.”

He discussed whether Chiesa will stay with the club or leave in the upcoming summer transfer window.

“Chiesa must decide, and as I said, if he wants to leave, I’ll settle as long as the figure is right. How much is Lautaro’s release clause? €111 million? Well, I could take a million off Chiesa. No, I’m kidding. As long as the amount is right.”

Commisso revealed that he wouldn’t block Chiesa’s move to rivals Juventus.

“I’m thinking for the good of Fiorentina. If Chiesa wants to go, our priority will be to get the right financial compensation. There are no vetoes for some teams. But right now, I have a splendid relationship with Federico and his father. There is a positive climate that should not be altered.”

Finally, Commisso spoke about how Castrovilli wants to stay with the club.

“I liked this guy from day one. He’s phenomenal, he’s always smiling. I like that our talents give us credit. They give credit to me, Baron, Pradè, Iachini, Ferrari, Antognoni, Dainelli, a whole working group.”

Both Inter and Juventus are incredibly keen to sign the 22-year-old Chiesa, who is contracted to the Viola until 2022. The player has been heavily linked to both clubs and it seems unlikely that he will remain in Florence for next season.

This season, Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2117 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

Castrovilli has also impressed for Fiorentina this season and signed a new contract with the club before Christmas, tying him to the side until 2024.

Nerazzurri Legend & Cagliari Coach Walter Zenga: “I’ve Been An Inter Fan Since I Was 3 Years Old”

Former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga discussed his career and time with Inter in an interview in the print edition of the Italian magazine Sportweek, published by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I never get tired of talking about Inter, I was already a Nerazzurri fan from the age of three. Although my father was a Juventus fan, he took me to the San Siro to see Inter vs Brescia, it finished 7-0.

“Among all those goals I was impressed by Brotto, the opposing goalkeeper, wearing a black jersey with an enormous white V. I was first a supporter, then a child, then a ball boy, I got a 1000 lire per game and chose the opposite goal to see the whole pitch, and after that I still had to cultivate my passion.”

He then further spoke about his passion for the Nerazzurri and his favourite victory parade.

“The Inter clause? A legend, not true, I only said it out of love for the team that has been my life for 23 years. My favourite save? The UEFA Cup final one against Salzburg, the last one with Inter. I knew it was the last one, it had to be the perfect finale of my time with Inter, I did nothing wrong and I’m proud of it.”

The 59-year-old Italian discussed how he was close to leaving the Nerazzurri in 1987, before the deal eventually collapsed.

“In June 1987 it was all done with Napoli. The newspapers were constantly saying ‘Zenga to Napoli, Giuliani to Inter’. Despite the fact that the negotiations were over, it was hell for me. The criticism from the Curva Nord was harsh, every shot for 3-4 months was a goal.

“Despite the pressure in December, I signed a contract renewal with Cesare Viganò and Franco Maggiorelli the day before the derby, which we lost due to an own goal by Ferri.”

Zenga spoke about the final years of his career and his disappointing return to Inter.

“No one has ever said before today that I could have come back. After doing well at Sampdoria I could have been the backup for Pagliuca for a year before joining the club’s management.

“I talked to Moratti and Mazzola, I went first to Padova and then to the United States, so I really came back to Inter as an image man for TV and marketing, but only for a few months. It was a role that I didn’t feel was mine.”

He touched on Arrigo Sacchi’s decision to remove him from the national team setup.

“Then Arrigo made a choice that today, as a coach, I understand and share, it’s because of him that I’m still known as Spider-Man, even if for me the nickname of Gianni Brera, Hang glider, is worth more.

“The journalist who told me the best thing, however, was Franco Rossi from il Giorno: “I don’t know if you are the phenomenon of the poor or the scarce of phenomena.”

Finally, he discussed his brief time in charge of Cagliari this season, before the Coronavirus pandemic forced Italian football to totally stop.

“It is wrong in my opinion to have prejudices and positions before knowing something. These days I hear people say things like ‘You can’t and shouldn’t play’ due to the coronavirus, wouldn’t it be better to say ‘Let’s see what happens, but are we there?’

“It would certainly send a better message. I’m back in Italy and I’ll be the coach of Cagliari, I haven’t lost anything this season despite the suspension. I’ve already prepared everything, from training at a distance to managing the matches in July and August.”

Zenga spent the first 16 years of his career in Milan with Inter, quickly becoming a fan favourite. The Italian made 473 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri in that time, keeping 194 clean sheets and conceding 424 goals.

Inter Preparing Double Swoop For RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner & Napoli’s Dries Mertens

Inter are preparing to sign both Napoli forward Dries Mertens and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking for a potential replacement for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who is heavily wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona.

The first player that the Milanese club are preparing to sign is Mertens, whose contract expires with Napoli at the end of this season. Whilst a renewal looked likely at the start of last month, now the two parties are further away than ever.

Inter are also looking to acquire Werner, the report continues. The German has a €60 million release clause, which isn’t too high, but the deadline of April 30th means that an offer will need to be launched soon. Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also looking to sign Werner, but the Nerazzurri will still try.

Nerazzurri Legend Andreas Brehme: “Winning The Serie A & UEFA Cup With Inter Was Special”

Former Inter defender Andreas Brehme discussed his career and time with Inter in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInterNews yesterday.

First, he discussed how he is doing during this Coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m fine, healthy at my home in Munich.”

The 59-year-old German spoke about his memories of Italy, where he spent four years playing for the Nerazzurri.

“The four years at Inter were the peak of my career. I also played at the San Siro during the World Cup in 1990. Winning the Scudetto and the UEFA Cup was special.”

Brehme then touched on why he decided to leave in 1992 to join Spanish side Zaragoza.

“Every good story has an end. Barcelona wanted me, but they had problems with the number of foreigners and so I chose Real Zaragoza.”

He discussed Inter’s season this year under coach Antonio Conte and whether they can still win the title.

“Anything is possible and with this break due to the coronavirus many things could happen.”

The 59-year-old spoke about RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and if he’d be a good replacement for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who is wanted by Barcelona.

“I don’t want to comment on transfer market rumors, but certainly Werner is one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga. He can be an important reinforcement for any team.”

Finally, Brehme sent a message to all his fans.

“Stay safe and healthy, Forza Inter! I love you all.”

Brehme spent four years in Milan with the Nerazzurri, being one of the three German stars at the club. In those four years, the German defender made 155 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists.

French Media Claims Inter In Talks With Arsenal Over Striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Inter are in pole position in the race to sign Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the French media outlet Le10Sport yesterday.

The report details how the 30-year-old Gabonese striker, who is contracted to the Gunners until 2021, isn’t interested in signing a contract renewal with the club and is looking for Champions League football.

Inter coach Antonio Conte is a fan of Aubameyang and would be happy to bring him to Milan should Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez be sold to Barcelona in the summer.

The only obstacle is the player’s high salary, the report continues, and currently the Nerazzurri won’t match that number. The two clubs are already in contact to discuss a possible deal.

Aubameyang has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2711 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided one assist.
