Barcelona Could Offer Nelson Semedo & Arturo Vidal To Inter As Part Of Deal For Lautaro Martinez

There has been continuous contact between Inter and Barcelona for a number of weeks regarding Lautaro Martinez according to a report from broadcaster ESPN.

Barcelona are said to have identified Lautaro as their number one transfer target ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window and are trying to find the right players they could offer to Inter as part of a deal for him with them reluctant to pay his €111 million release clause.

The report explains that Inter manager Antonio Conte is proving to be a real obstacle for Barcelona with the former Italian national team manager reluctant to let him go as he sees him as one of the most important players in the team.

It goes on to add that Barcelona could offer Arturo Vidal and Nelson Semedo as part of the deal for the highly rated 22-year-old, who has also drawn links to Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea as of late, in a bid to convince Conte to let him go.

Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez’s Father: “He’s Reached The Top Due To His Positive Mentality”

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s father Mario Jose Martinez has shared his belief that his son has achieved what he has so far in his brief career thanks to the positive mentality that he has.

The 22-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players out there at the moment and in the past few weeks and months he has drawn very strong links with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, who reportedly see him as their number one target and the ideal long term successor to Luis Suarez.

“I think he has reached the top due to his positive mentality,” Martinez senior remarked in an interview with Spanish news outlet Marca.

“Since he was a child he had clear goals, he had the dream of playing at the top of football. He always goes step by step and has short-term goals in mind and knows that everything is based on commitment, respect and humility.”

Lautaro joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 from Superliga Argentina side Racing Club and is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season.

This season the Argentine national team player has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists.

Racing Club President Blanco On Inter’s Lautaro Martinez: “He Is Ready To Play For Barcelona”

Racing Club president Victor Blanco has shared his belief that former player and current Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is ready to make a move to Barcelona.

The 22-year-old Argentine has been strongly linked with a move to the reigning Spanish champions for a number of weeks and months now with reports in the media stating Barcelona are willing to offer a significant cash sum plus a player or players in a deal for him.

“Is he ready for Barcleona move? Yes. I have no doubts. It may take a few months to adapt, but this happens to every player,” Blanco explained in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He was then asked if he thinks it is best for the Argentine international to stay at Inter or move to Barcelona.

“It is his decision, if he is convinced he has to make the jump, only he knows. He is not a boy who acts on impulse, if he is convinced I am sure he will be fine. If he thinks he is not ready yet then he will stay at Inter.”

Next he was asked what he thinks Inter could possible do to convince the player to stay with them and reject the advances of the Spanish side.

“In the past Lautaro has also rejected important teams. Firstly he said no to Real Madrid and then to Atletico Madrid, because he wanted to make the best choice.

“He then decided to stay with us. Today it seems to me that Inter is his home. He will make the right decision.”

In conclusion he was asked how important he thinks Antonio Conte has been in the player’s development.

“This season has been fundamental. Conte has taken a rough diamond, who had already shone in South American football and has polished him off. Credit must go to Lautaro and those around him.”

Inter Vice President Zanetti On Barcelona’s Interest In Lautaro Martinez: “He Is Very Happy With Us”

Inter vice president Javier Zanetti has confirmed that the club are not thinking about what could happen with Lautaro Martinez in the coming months amid ongoing links to La Liga side Barcelona.

“When we bought him, we knew very well how he would develop. We were waiting for this moment,” Zanetti remarked during an Instagram Live chat with former Inter teammate Christian Vieri late last night.

“He trains well with Conte and can still improve and give us a lot. In this difficult period, we haven’t thought about what will happen but I find him happy here with his teammates, he’s having fun and he gets along very well with Lukaku.”

Zanetti also went on to reveal that he could have played on past the age of 40 but did not want to play long enough for people to notice a visible decline in his ability.

“I tore my Achilles at 39-years-old, I knew it was serious, but my only thoughts were to come back. When I retired at 40, I could have played on, I felt good physically, my teammates wanted me to, but I decided to leave the game before I declined.”

He also spoke on the progress that the Nerazzurri have made under the stewardship of former Italian national team manager Antonio Conte this season.

“This year we have seen great progress. There are many young players here and the goal is to compete to win and with Conte there are the conditions to do so.”

In conclusion Zanetti spoke on how he finds his role as vice president of the club, a role which he took up pretty much immediately after he retired from playing back in 2014.

“I like it. I didn’t expect it from Thohir. It’s a prestigious role. I had to prepare and start from scratch, the life of an executive is very different.

“Now, in addition to the sports side of things, I also manage the commercial side with UEFA and FIFA, and I like it. When you stop playing, you can’t expect everything to be handed to you due to your career. You have to study and know how to behave. It is completely new.”

Zanetti spent nearly his entire career on Inter’s books and in 19 years with the club he made no less than 860 appearances across all competitions, which is the most any player has ever made for the team.

Spanish Report Claims Inter Won’t Let Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez Leave Unless Demands Are Met

Inter are calm about Lautaro Martinez’s future with the club and will not let him go to Barcelona unless their demands are met for him according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is adamant that Lautaro will be going nowhere unless Barcelona agree to pay what Inter want.

Due to this, Barcelona have changed their strategy when it comes to signing the 22-year-old Argentine national team striker and are now evaluating several alternatives.

As for the player himself, Aguilar goes on to state that he would like to move to Barcelona but if an agreement cannot be reached he would otherwise be happy to remain with Inter. He also has offers from elsewhere, namely from the Premier League, but he is not convinced by them.

Aguilar goes on to conclude that Real Madrid may even come in for Lautaro due to how difficult it would be for them to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

Napoli Blast Italian Media Over Claims Contract Talks With Inter Target Mertens Have Stalled

Napoli have dismissed a report which appeared in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport which claimed contract renewal talks with both Dries Mertens and Piotr Zielinski had stalled with an official statement on their club website.

The report claimed that both players did not wish to proceed with contract renewal talks until issues relating to the squad mutiny which took place earlier on this season were resolved.

Mertens current contract with the Stadio San Paolo club is due to expire at the end of this season and as a result of this a number of clubs have been linked with signing him on a bosman deal.

Inter, Chelsea, AS Monaco and Roma have all been linked with signing the 32-year-old Belgian national team attacker who has been plying his trade in Naples since 2013.

Zielinski meanwhile has little over a year on his current contract with the club and he has been linked with a move to Premier League outfit Everton.

Napoli’s statement reads: “Napoli note with some perplexity that yet again an article, in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, written by Maurizio Nicita, full of inaccuracies and references to untrue circumstances is published, embedded in contexts and situations not verified by the author.

“The perplexity derives from the fact that a journalist, before writing background and reconstructions of facts, should listen to all parties concerned to ascertain the truthfulness of what is then reported to readers.

“And in the case of today’s article, which concerns the negotiations for the contractual renewals of Zielinski and Mertens, this has not been done.

“A ‘piece’ has been written, inventing meetings, dates, numbers and critical issues of negotiations among other things, evidently drawing on only partial and, moreover, poorly informed sources.

“One wonders how it is possible that Gazzetta dello Sport, a historical, authoritative and internationally-renowned newspaper, allows articles without the minimum requirements regarding the reliability of reported facts, such as those in question, to go in print.

“Unfortunately, it is not the first time that this has happened, but Napoli will always be on the side of readers who have the right to know real and verified news.”

Italian Report Claims Chelsea Exercise Option To Extend Inter & Lazio Target Olivier Giroud’s Contract

Chelsea have exercised the option that they had to extend striker Olivier Giroud’s contract with the club for a further season according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to both Inter and Lazio and as per the report, which appeared on Di Marzio’s eponymous website, both clubs remain interested in signing him but they will now be unable to acquire him on a free transfer which they could have had Chelsea not exercised this option.

Di Marzio’s report goes on to add that even though they have extended Giroud’s contract with the club, Chelsea remain interested in signing Napoli’s Dries Mertens, whose contract with the Stadio San Paolo club is due to expire at the end of the season.

Inter, AS Monaco and Roma are also reportedly interested in signing the Belgian national team attacker too.

Inter Could Re-sign Zinho Vanheusden For Reduced Price Due To Standard Liege’s Financial Situation

Inter may be able to bring Zinho Vanheusden back to the club for cheaper than originally agreed due to Standard Liege’s current financial issues according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The young defender joined the Belgian Pro League side outright this past Summer and as part of the deal, the two clubs came to a gentleman’s agreement that Inter can sign him back for around €15 million.

Standard Liege are currently experiencing financial problems and have been denied a UEFA licence for next season as a result. If the Belgian club’s appeal is not accepted then it is highly likely that they will have to resort to selling off players.

Standard Liege could well even give Inter a discount on Vanheusden of a few million just to get some money in and if Vanheusden is to return, Inter would opt to loan him out for at least a season to help him in his development.
