Barcelona have had a change of heart and are now open to offering Arthur plus cash for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report in today’s print edition of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

Reports in recent weeks had suggested that Inter wanted Arthur as part of a deal for the 22-year-old Argentine striker but Barcelona deemed the Brazilian international to be non-transferable.

However, according to this report, the Blaugrana club are willing to deal the 23-year-old away which certainly goes to show just how much they want Lautaro at the club.

Barcelona would be willing to offer a cash sum between €80-90 million plus Arthur, who is valued at €60 million, meaning a deal for Lautaro could end up worth around €150 million in total.

This season former Gremio midfielder Arthur has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided just as many assists for his teammates.

Inter have made an enquiry about Manchester United and France national team midfielder Paul Pogba and are considering whether or not to make a move for him according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter have excellent relations with Manchester United due to the recent deals done involving Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku and the Nerazzurri could afford the 2018 World Cup winner with thanks to funds raised through player sales this Summer.

The report does however warn that his wages are likely to be an obstacle for Inter, whose current highest earner is manager Antonio Conte, who earns €12 million a year.

Inter could however take full advantage of the tax laws regarding foreign workers in Italy which were recently brought in which will reduce the amount of tax Inter need to pay.

After four seasons at Old Trafford, Pogba is understood to be increasingly determined to depart the club and Conte would be more than happy to work with him again and welcome him to Inter with him wanting a box-to-box midfielder just like him.

Legendary former Juventus and France striker David Trezeguet has urged Paris Saint Germain to take up their option to sign on loan forward Mauro Icardi from Inter.

The 27-year-old Argentine joined the French capital city club on a season long loan this past Summer and in an interview with French news outlet Le Parisien, Trezeguet has shared his belief that PSG should take up their option to sign Icardi on a permanent basis for €70 millino.

“The Parisians should redeem him. First of all for his age, at 27 he is still a young player. There are very few strikers around at his level available on the market with those statistics,” Trezeguet, who spent a decade with Juventus between 2000 and 2010, explained.

“Although he played less in the match before the stop due to Coronavirus, he showed he has adapted to PSG and demonstrated his qualities. It is always better to have him play for you than against you.”

The former AS Monaco man then went on to state that he can understand why Juventus also reportedly have an interest in signing Icardi.

“I understand why Juve are interested in him and their interest does not go back to just yesterday. We are talking about a unique striker who has formidable efficiency.”

Various reports in the media have suggested that the Bianconeri could pursue a move for Icardi regardless of whether PSG sign him up or not and could be willing to offer a player as part of any deal.

Whilst at PSG Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored 20 goals and provided five assists for his teammates.

Legendary Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has sang the praises of current Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and went so far as to say the Slovenian international is the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment.

“I am not think about a post Handanovic era at Inter because he is still there, he is still young, he is the best goalkeeper in the world, he does not miss a beat despite the controversies, the changes of his teammates and the club in general,” Toldo explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

“When the time comes, Inter will know how to find his successor but he is still there and I do not see why you should think about life after Handanovic yet.”

The former Italian national team shot-stopper was asked which manager changed his career.

“If you want just one name above all others, I will say Jose Mourinho. However, if you want to know who helped me out in my youth then it is a gentleman named Franco Caporello, who still trains children and if you can do his training, you can be a goalkeeper.”

He then spoke on one of the best things about Mourinho, who guided Inter toward winning a historic treble in the 2009/10 season.

“I think Mourinho has always treated everyone in the same way regardless if the person played all of the games or just one.”

Toldo then went on to insist that it was in fact him rather than Christian Vieri who scored ‘that’ goal in a game against Juventus many years ago.

“I scored it but Vieri wanted to claim it for the sake of the top scorer list. I had told Cuper in the locker room before the game and if we were losing I would go up and try to score. Vieri didn’t even touch it, he says he did but the goal is mine. Vieri and I always joke about it.”

Toldo joined Inter in the Summer of 2001 and would spend just shy of a decade with the club before retiring after the treble win.

The now 48-year-old made 233 appearances across all competitions during his time on Inter’s books, during which time he kept 95 clean sheets.

Fiorentina striker Christian Kouame has revealed he has no regrets about not securing a permanent move to Inter a few years ago whilst at Serie D/E outfit AC Prato.

The highly rated Ivorian forward, who moved to his current employers in the most recent January transfer window, joined Inter on a six month loan deal between the start and middle of 2016 but Kouame never ended up joining the Nerazzurri on a permanent basis at the end of the loan deal and instead ended up at Serie B side Cittadella.

“Before I moved to Cittadella I waited for a call from Inter but Prato had already given the floor to the Cittadella. I have no regrets. I am here and I am happy,” the 22-year-old remarked in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kouame then refused to rule out the possibility of Inter getting back into the Serie A title race if the season is to resume despite them having to claw back a nine point deficit in their final 13 games.

“Who will win the Scudetto? Juve and Lazio will contend for it until the end. Even Inter is not yet cut off. If we return to play it will be an anomalous ending.”

This season Kouame has made just 12 appearances across all competitions to date due to injury. In just under 1000 minutes, he has scored five goals and tallied three assists.

Inter have taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to post a highlights package from the 2-1 victory over Siena 13 years ago which secured the club their 15th Serie A title.

Goals from Marco Materazzi either side of a goal from Siena gave Inter a 2-1 victory and allowed Roberto Mancini’s side to wrap the league title up with no less than five games left to spare.

Inter went on to finish the season on 97 points and very impressively only lost once during that league campaign.

Legendary Inter defender Marco Materazzi has taken to photo sharing social media platform to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Inter’s win over Siena which secured them the 2006/07 Serie A title.

Materazzi scored both of Inter’s goals in a 2-1 win over the Bianconeri club, a result which handed Inter the title with some five games to spare.

The Italian, who was part of the 2006 World Cup winning side the previous Summer, made 28 league appearances that season, in which he scored a total of 10 goals.

Legendary Inter player and current club vice president Javier Zanetti has taken to social media platform Twitter to celebrate the anniversary of Inter’s 2006/07 Serie A title clinching match against Siena.

Thanks to a brace from defender Marco Materazzi, Inter won 2-1 against the Bianconeri club and became champions of Italy for a 15th time.

Inter finished that season with a total of 97 points to their name and Zanetti appeared in all barring one league game that season. In his 37 appearances he scored a single goal.

He posted: “An extraordinary ride and then the great party as champions of Italy. 13 years ago today.”
