Monaco Attacker Stevan Jovetic: “Happy With What I Did At Inter”

Former Inter striker Stevan Jovetic has admitted he is happy with what he achieved during his spell with the club in an interview with fellow former Inter player Sebastien Frey.

“Inter are one of the best teams in Europe. I had a good time there especially the first six months, when we won almost all the matches; I’m sorry it ended how it did,” the Montenegro national team forward explained in an interview with former Inter goalkeeper Frey which was broadcast live on Frey’s official Instagram page last night.

“Looking back on my experience with Inter, I can say that I am satisfied with what I did.”

Jovetic joined Inter in the January transfer window of the 2014/15 season from Premier League side Manchester City and spent two and a half years on the club’s books before being sold on to Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco, who he is under contract with until the end of this season.

Whilst at Inter, the 30-year-old made a total of 33 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored seven goals and provided four assists.

He spent the final six months of his Inter career out on loan at Spanish club Sevilla before securing his aforementioned switch to AS Monaco.

Gabriel Brazao: “I’ve Always Supported Inter & Hope To Be Able To Reach Handanovic’s Level”

In an interview with Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it, Inter owned goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao has reminisced about his arrival at the club and also looked ahead to what the future could hold for him with the club.

“My agent told me about Inter’s interest and obviously I was very interested, I have never hid that I have always supported Inter, I watched the club when I was small, I followed Julio Cesar,” he began the interview.

He then went on to speak about the recent praise he has received from Cesar and named him as one of his two idols growing up.

“He spoke very well about Inter to me and his words meant a great deal due to what he did at Inter. He and Fabio were my idols.”

The young Brazilian shot-stopper was then asked if he thinks he can succeed current Inter number one Samir Handanovic and if he is inspired by the veteran Slovenian goalkeeper.

“Handanovic is a great goalkeeper, he has great qualities and he is very confident and consistent. I hope to be able to reach his performance levels one day.”

He was also asked if Inter have been in contact with him as of late amid the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

“They told me to follow the standard procedures. They told me to take care of myself, stay at home and try to keep fit.”

In conclusion he suggested the names of two young Brazilian players as players who he thinks the club should sign.

“Cruzeiro’s Caio Rosa and Santos’ Kaio Jorge.”

The 19-year-old is currently out on loan at Spanish second division side Albacete, who he has made four appearances for over the course of this season.

Inter’s Downgraded Bond Rating Could Have An Impact On Sponsorship’s In The Future

As a result of Inter’s bond rating being downgraded, Inter have lost some bargaining power when it comes to securing new sponsorship’s according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Financial services company Standard & Poor’s, yesterday downgraded the Nerazzurri’s bond rating down to a B+ and whilst the report states it will have little impact in the immediate future, it could well have an impact a bit further down the line, especially as far as sponsorship’s are concerned.

Inter’s deal with current main shirt sponsor Pirelli is due to expire at the end of next season and Inter have long been on the look-out for a replacement with reports suggesting there have been talks with several Chinese companies such as the Evergrande Group.

Inter were looking to get at least €25 million a year from their new shirt sponsor but it now remains to be seen if they will be able to command this given their bond rating has been decreased and also because of the currently ongoing global pandemic.

🙏🏼 #eroiincorsia #andratuttobene

Italian Report Examines Antonio Candreva’s Renaissance At Inter Under Antonio Conte

In today’s print edition, Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look into the rebirth that Inter’s Antonio Candreva has had this season under Antonio Conte.

Candreva found himself consigned to the substitutes bench for much of last season under the stewardship of then manager Luciano Spalletti and he appeared set to move on in the Summer off the back of this.

However, no move took place and Conte, who came in to replace Spalletti, began to deploy Candreva at right wing back, opposed to his preferred role of winger.

In doing so, Candreva has been able to find his best form again and immediately repaid Conte for the faith shown in him with a thunderous long range striker on the opening day of the season and has become an important player for the club.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to highlight just how much of an improvement this season has been on last for the Italian.

He has created 27 chances, 16 more than last year, he has played 137 balls into the box, some 71 more than he did last year and he has upped his accuracy by 3% up to 75%.

Fiorentina Defender Martin Caceres: “Don’t Underestimate Inter’s Diego Godin”

Fiorentina centre back Martin Caceres has backed Uruguayan national team teammate Diego Godin to come good for Inter if given time.

Godin joined Inter on a three year deal this past Summer in a free transfer upon the expiration of his deal with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, where he cemented himself as one of the world’s best defenders.

Hopes were high upon Godin’s arrival at the Nerazzurri but the highly experienced defender has very much struggled to perform to expectations and has struggled to adapt to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

As a result of his struggles, there has been no shortage of speculation in recent weeks which has suggested Godin could be headed for the exit door after just one season with Inter.

“Be careful about underestimating Godin. He is a leader and a top player, who, in the long run, will be able to assert himself,” Caceres remarked in an interview with Corriere dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Rome based newspaper.

This season Godin has made 25 appearances across all competitions, in which he has tallied a single assist.
