PSG Decide They Won’t Sign Icardi Permanently From Inter Who Could Deal Him To Arch Rivals Juventus

Paris Saint Germain have decided that they will not take up the option they have to sign on loan Mauro Icardi up on a permanent basis according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The Argentine striker joined the French capital city club this past Summer on a season long loan from Inter and PSG have an option to sign him up a sum of €70 million.

Icardi is now set to return to Inter when his loan spell expires at the end of the season but he will not be reinstated at the Nerazzurri, who deemed him to be out of the club’s project when they dealt him to PSG.

The report goes on to claim that Icardi would like a move to Inter’s arch rivals Juventus and it will be far from easy for the Bianconeri to do business with Inter with relations as thorny as ever.

It also goes on to add that Juventus may be able to convince Inter into dealing the 27-year-old be offering a player or players as part of a deal, including Colombian international Juan Cuadrado.

Italian Referees Association President Nicchi: “We’ll Use VAR When Season Resumes,”

Marcelo Nicchi, the president of the Italian referees association (AIA), has insisted that common sense must be used when it comes to the possible resumption of football at all levels in Italy.

Seasons not only in football but in all sports have been on hold for over a month now due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and Nicchi shared his thoughts on a restart in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If we wait for the infections to reach zero across the country, we would never start again. There will be a small calculated risk margin, but we will have to be good at minimising it through using common sense,” he said in the interview which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

He then went on to discuss what he would like to see as far as referees are concerned.

“I think that referees should be allowed to make short trips and I hope that they are not immediately challenged by those who want to create controversy.

“There are many sectors that are still in business today, from doctors, who are the true heroes of this pandemic, to those who work in supermarkets, offices or newspaper editors.

“Athletes and referees can get back to work again if properly followed and controlled because there is a need to start again but we must leave the heroisms to those who save lives and not to those who run after a ball.”

He was then asked if Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology will be used if the season resumes.

“Yes. The company that deals with all technology has assured us that the rooms with the equipment in the stadiums will be sanitised and the safety distances will be maintained. Perhaps the number of people will decrease. Today there are six, there could be less, but VAR will be there.”

In conclusion he was asked about the possibility of his referees only being limited to refereeing matches in the city or region in which they stay.

“It is our intention to choose the most fit referees for the most important matches without geographical constraints but we start from two assumptions. The first is all our referees offer guarantees; the second is that referees and assistants do not travel by coach or charter like teams.

“They do it on their own by car, train or plane. If we can allow a referee to reach the game of competence without crossing half of Italy is it not better? We hope there is no need for this, but if there is a need for it, it is right to safeguard health.”

Hernan Crespo: “I Wanted To Stay At Inter But They Sold Me To Chelsea”

In an interview with former teammate Christian Vieri, former Inter striker Hernan Crespo has revealed he did not want to leave the club in the Summer of 2003, when he was sold to Premier League side Chelsea.

The Argentine joined Inter in the Summer of 2002 in a €26 million plus Bernardo Corradi deal and in his season with the club he scored 16 goals in 30 games across all competitions, nine of which came in 12 Champions League matches.

“You and I only spent one year together,” he told Vieri during an interview which was broadcast on Vieri’s official Instagram profile.

“I wanted to stay at Inter but they sold me to Chelsea. I had a four year contract and I had just bought a house in Milan. We had just finished second in the league and had reached the Champions League semi finals.”

Crespo later re-joined Inter in a two year loan deal in the Summer of 2006 and was then signed outright on a free transfer at the end of the loan deal.

He spent another season on Inter’s books before he joined Genoa for a season. He then joined Parma and played his final two seasons there before retiring.

All in all, Crespo made 116 appearances across all competitions for Inter, during which he scored 45 goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.

Why Selling Lautaro Martinez To Barcelona Would Be A Huge Mistake By Inter

Lautaro Martinez is arguably the most desirable player in European football right now. There isn’t a team in the world who wouldn’t like to have the Argentinian forward in its squad. At the moment, Barcelona is the top candidate for getting the youngster.

The 22-year old has been magnificent since the campaign started, and his impact on Inter’s performances can’t be measured through numbers. Without him, Nerazzurri wouldn’t be this high in the standings, that is for sure.

Before the start of the season, the three-time European Champions had just one thing on their minds, and that is to dethrone Juventus as the ruling powerhouse of Italian football.

However, it seems that such a scenario won’t happen. Antonio Conte’s team had several unbelievable slips after the New Year, and it seems that all the hopes for the title were lost with two consecutive losses against the top rivals, Juve 0-2, and Lazio 1-2. Inter is not third with nine points fewer than Juve, and with a game in hand.

According to the best bookies, the odds on them to take the title are 10/1, which is a bit demoralizing for all the fans. Juventus leads the way with 2/5, Lazio, who trails only one point is 5/2. Atalanta with 200/1 and AS Roma with 500/1 are behind. Napoli’s success is only in theory, 750/1, while AC Milan is 1000/1. All other clubs are not even offered.

But to come back to Martinez. The Argentinian scored 12 goals in 22 Serie A games, and five in six Champions League appearances. Unfortunately, his team probably won’t take silverware in either if these competitions. Inter was eliminated from the UCL, finishing third in the group stage behind Barcelona and PSG.

Forward’s departure from Milan would be a tremendous blow for the team. Not only does he scores and sets up goals, but he controls the entire conception of Inter’s play. Martinez’s pace and vision are fantastic and don’t doubt for one second in the claim that Romelu Lukaku became one of the European’s top scorers precisely because of his partner from the attack.

Lukaku is currently the third scorer in Italy, with low chances for capturing the Golden Boot or Capocannoniere award as the Italians call it. His odds for doing that are 20/1. The no.1 favorite is Ciro Immobile, who is at 1/7, and has 27 hits so far. Cristiano Ronaldo is following Lazio’s striker with 21 goals and, 5/1 odds for the trophy. Far behind these three guys are Joao Galvao (16 goals) with 66/1, same as Luis Muriel (13) and Josip Ilicic (15). Martinez is 100/1.

Now imagine if Lautaro leaves next season. Inter’s entire concept of play would fall apart. The attack won’t be flamboyant as before, and for sure, Conte’s tactics would have to suffer a lot of changes. Many fans are afraid of this. Nerazzurri aren’t capable of winning the title with Martinez in the current squad, and imagine what would Inter look like without him. They would probably fight for the Champions League spot, with Atalanta, Roma, AC Milan, and others.

Several sources are saying that Martinez might stay if Inter wins some trophies. Europa League is the first thing which crosses through our mind once hearing that. The Italians are one of the biggest candidates for taking the silverware. English Premier League duo, Manchester United and Wolverhampton, is the only thing ahead of Conte’s crew.

United sits at 11/4, Wolverhampton 11/2, while Inter is 6/1, the same as Leverkusen. Sevilla comes next 8/1, and the Spaniards are closing the list of the biggest favorites. The next echelon is led by Shakhtar 14/1, Getafe and Roma 16/1, and Basel 20/1. Following these teams come several crews who are not favored by either bookies and the experts, Istanbul Buyukeshir 50/1, FC Copenhagen also 50/1, Wolfsburg 66/1, and Olympiacos 80/1.

Also, Inter is still in the race to capture Coppa Italia honors. They did lose the first leg at home to Napoli, 0-1, but the chances are there. Bookies set the odds at 13/2 for them to lift the trophy. Juve is the No.1 contender, 9/10, Napoli comes after, 5/2, with AC Milan having the least chances 11/1..

Hard times are ahead of the club from Giuseppe Meazza. The management of Nerazzurri needs to find a way to keep their best player, and also to win at least something this season. Otherwise, this is going to be a disastrous year, with even worse consequences. One of them is Lautaro’s leaving.

After that, we can just guess what is going to happen with the team. Many believe that it won’t be competitive as it is now. Others think that some replacement might be found, but still, the risk is very high.

The bottom line is that Inter needs to keep Martinez at all costs, because such a player is a game-changer, and its no wonder why Barcelona wants to give more than €110 million for him.

Barcelona Looking To Cash In On Chelsea Target Coutinho To Finance Signing €111M Rated Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez

Chelsea are reluctant to meet Barcelona’s asking price for Philippe Coutinho for two reasons according to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder is currently out on loan at Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and although they have an option to sign him up on a permanent basis for €120 million, they will not do so. Barcelona do not wish to keep Coutinho around though and are looking for around €90 million for him.

Chelsea and Barcelona have already started talks over a deal for the former Liverpool player and the report states that Chelsea do not wish to pay Barcelona’s asking price.

There are two reasons for this as per the report. Chelsea are looking to take full advantage of the fact that Coutinho wishes to return to England where he previously had great success and they are also well aware that Barcelona are desperate for funds to pursue a move for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, who has a €111 million release clause.

Inter Attacker Alexis Sanchez Will Return To Milan Today After Being Back In Chile For Family Reasons

Alexis Sanchez will return to Milan having been back in his native Chile as of late according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Chilean returned home to Chile with the permission of Inter due to family reasons a few days before Easter and he is expected to be back in Milan at some point today.

Upon his return he will have to enter into an obligatory two week period of self isolation due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, just like the other seven Inter players who Inter granted permission to return home to during the current crisis situation.

The former Barcelona man is currently out on loan at Inter from Premier League side Manchester United and will be returning to Milan for what would appear to be his final few weeks as an Inter player.

Various reports in the media in recent weeks have stated that Inter will not pursue a permanent move for Sanchez, who has failed to live up to expectations and has ginormous wages.

Inter Striker Romelu Lukaku: “23 Out Of 25 Players Were Ill When We Returned After A Week Off In December”

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has sensationally claimed that nearly every first team squad member at Inter were ill at the turn of the year but were not tested for Coronavirus at the time.

“We had a week off in December, we returned to work and I swear that 23 out of 25 players were ill. I am not kidding,” he told Belgian television presenter and wife of Napoli’s Dries Mertens Kat Kerkhofs in an interview which as broadcast live on Instagram this afternoon.

“We played against Radja Nainggolan’s Cagliari and after about 25 minutes, one of our defenders had to leave the pitch. He could not continue and almost fainted.”

The 26-year-old Belgian striker then went on to reveal that he was one of the players who were feeling a bit under the weather and he had to cancel other engagements as a result.

“Everyone was coughing and had a fever. When I was warming up, I felt a lot hotter than usual. I hadn’t suffered from a fever in years.

“After the game there was a planned dinner with guests from Puma, but I thanked them and went straight to bed. We never did the COVID-19 tests at that moment, so we’ll never know for sure.”

The former Manchester United striker, who joined Inter in a club record €65 million transfer deal this past Summer, then went on to speak about the differences between how close the squad he is now part of is compared to those he was part of in England.

“We’ve got seven players who all live in the same street. The difference with England is enormous, as there we’d go out to dinner about once every four months, whereas here it’s every four weeks.”

This season Lukaku, who is under contract with Inter until 2024, has made 35 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2900 minutes on the field, he has scored 23 goals and has provided a handful of assists for his teammates.
