Official – All Serie A Clubs Agree To Resume & Conclude This Season

The Lega Serie A council voted unanimously in favour of the season starting up again and finishing last night and all of the clubs have now also gotten on board although it remains to be seen when the season could possibly resume given the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, which forced football to a halt in the first place just over a month ago.

Lega Serie A have confirmed that the resumption of training and matches will all take place within the guidelines provided by world football’s governing body FIFA and European football’s governing body UEFA.

Moreover, training and the season will resume in line with the medical protocol put together by the Italian football federation (FIGC).

Italian Prime Minister Conte: “From May 4 We’ll Start Re-Opening The Country, I Wish Everything Could Re-Open Immediately But It’d Be Irresponsible”

Italian prime minster Giuseppe Conte has confirmed that Italy will begin phase two of the recovery process from the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic at the start of next month.

In a press conference earlier on today, Conte has confirmed that he understands people are sick and tired of the measures currently in place and he would like to be able to re-open everything immediately but knows doing so would be irresponsible at this time.

Italy has been in lockdown for over a month now with almost the entire population stuck in their homes and only allowed to leave the house for absolute necessities such as groceries and medicines.

“From May 4 we will start with a national reopening program that takes into account the territorial peculiarities,” he started.

“Many citizens are tired of the measures and would like a significant easing of these measures, or even their complete abolition.

“I wish I could say we could re-open everything immediately and that we could start tomorrow morning. This government has however put the protection of citizens’ health first. Such a decision would be irresponsible.

“It would make the contagion curve go up in an uncontrolled way and would nullify all the efforts we have made so far.

“At this stage we cannot afford to act by relying on improvisation. We cannot abandon the line of utmost caution, even in the perspective of restarting. We cannot rely on impromptu decisions to satisfy a part of public opinion or to satisfy the requests of some production sectors, individual companies or specific regions.

“The easing of the measures must take place on the basis of a well-structured and articulated plan. We have to reopen on the basis of a program that takes into account all the details and crosses all the data. A serious, scientific program. We can’t afford to leave out any details.”

He then went on to confirm that the measures that have been in place have been successful and as a result other countries also impacted by the Coronavirus are looking toward the way Italy have dealt with the crisis situation.

“We have achieved important results, which other countries are studying. We must consolidate these results also in this new phase. This program must have a national footprint, because it must offer a reorganisation of the ways in which work performance is carried out, a rethinking of transport modes and new rules for commercial activities.”

Aleksandr Kokorin’s Agent: “He Said He Wants Move To Inter Or AC Milan? I Advise Him Not To Go To Serie A”

Dmitry Selyuk, the agent of Aleksandr Kokorin, has confirmed that he would not advise his client to move to Italy following his clients recent admission that he would be keen on a move to either Inter or AC Milan.

The 29-year-old, who only recently returned to football having been released from prison after attacking a trade ministry official and a driver, is currently on the books of Russian Premier League side Zenit St Petersburg although he is currently out on loan at FC Sochi.

Despite having been out of action for some time due to his prison sentence, Kokorin has shown that he can still perform to a good level with him having notched three goals and two assists in four games for FC Sochi, since joining on loan in February.

“He wants to play for one of the two Milanese clubs? I would not advise Kokorin to go to Italy. Anyway, he is doing very well now at Sochi,” Selyuk admitted in an interview with Russian news outlet inter-volgograd.ru.

Kokorin could well be available on a free transfer given his deal with Zenit St Petersburg expires at the end of the season but it is not clear what their intentions are for him.

Young, Candreva & D’Ambrosio All Set To Stay With Inter Whilst Biraghi & Moses Face Uncertain Future

Despite not getting any younger, both Ashley Young and Antonio Candreva will remain with Inter past the end of this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The duo are pushing 35 and 34 respectively and despite being in the twilight years of their career, the duo have proven to still have it during this season.

Young surprised many with his performances upon his arrival on an initial six month contract and going by this report and others, Inter intend to take up the option to extend his deal by another season.

On top of Young and Candreva, Danilo D’Ambrosio’s immediate future appears set to be in the Nerazzurri shirt but the same cannot be said for Cristiano Biraghi and Victor Moses.

Biraghi joined on a season long loan from Fiorentina whilst Moses joined on loan from Chelsea at the mid-way point of the season.

Inter have no option to buy Biraghi but do have an option to buy Moses for €12 million although the report states that Chelsea may well give Inter a discount on him.

Udinese Goalkeeper Juan Musso Keen On Inter Move This Summer

Juan Musso has set his sights on a Summer transfer window move to Inter according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Inter have identified the current Udinese goalkeeper as the ideal player to bring in to initially serve as back-up to Samir Handanovic and eventually takeover from him in the coming years and Musso is seemingly keen on a move to Inter too with the report stating he views it as the best possible move to further his career.

Udinese value the highly rated Argentine shot-stopper at €30 million but Inter do not wish to pay that and value him at between €22-25 million.

The report goes on to add that due to the good relations between the clubs, a player(s) plus cash deal could well take place for the 25-year-old, who has also been linked with moves to Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.

It also claims that Udinese have promised to sell Musso to a big club, which will certainly come as a boost to Inter’s chances of landing him.

This season he has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has kept nine clean sheets.

Italian Report Claims Inter Could Sell Liverpool Target Marcelo Brozovic To Finance Signing Of Juventus Target Sandro Tonali

Marcelo Brozovic could be sold by Inter to raise the funds to sign Sandro Tonali according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The Croatian midfielder has become an integral part of the Inter team in recent seasons and has a €60 million release clause in his current deal, which, if triggered, would give Inter the funds to invest in Tonali, who Brescia president Massimo Cellino is said to value at no less than €50 million.

Several reports in the UK claim that Premier League giants Liverpool are hot on the trails of the Croatian international with Italian reports claiming Inter will only let him leave if his €60 million release fee clause is activated

The report does however go on to state that due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and the financial damage it has caused to football, Tonali may be able to be signed for €30 million plus a player(s) which would take the total value of the deal to between €40-45 million.

Inter face competition from Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United for teen sensation Tonali, who has scored one goal and provided five assists in 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

Inter Want Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa But Identify Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kostic As Plan B

Inter have set their sights on signing Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter are looking to bolster their attack with the addition of the highly rated Italian national team player who is primarily a winger and also capable of playing as a second striker.

Should Inter be unable to convince Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso to part ways with Chiesa, they could well go in for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic, who, like Chiesa, can play on the wing and as a second striker.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to add that Inter could bring in both Dries Mertens and Olivier Giroud on free transfers to further reinforce the attack which could undergo a lot of changes.

Moreover, the report goes on to add that Inter want to strengthen at full back and have their eyes on Chelsea duo Marcos Alonso, who is Inter manager Antonio Conte’s favourite, as well as Emerson Palmieri.
