Photo – Inter Striker Romelu Lukaku: “Antonio Conte’s Team Talk In The Milanese Derby Was The Most Inspiring Of My Career”

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku discussed the most inspiring team talk he’s ever received in when asked about this in a Q & A session he held on Twitter yesterday with his followers.

The 26-year-old Belgian striker, who signed for the Nerazzurri from Manchester United in a deal worth £65 million last summer, replied to a fan who asked which team talk was the best that he’d ever received in his career.

The former Manchester United forward suggested that it was the talk given by Inter coach Antonio Conte in the Milanese derby earlier this season, when the Nerazzurri were 2-0 down at half time.

Conte when we were 2-0 down against ac milan. He didn’t scream at all he told us what to do and where to find space and we did the business https://t.co/ypaOk4abDV

Inter Primavera Midfielder Gianelli: “I Admire Marcelo Brozovic’s Intelligence & Nicolo Barella’s Hunger”

Inter Primavera midfielder Jacopo Gianelli discussed his life, career and dreams in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

First, he discussed his condition during the ongoing quarantine in Italy.

“Personally, I’m fine, I’m spending my quarantine at home, as I hope everyone else is doing. Every day I’m training to stay in shape, my life now takes place only at home.”

The 18-year-old spoke about how the squad are keeping in touch.

“We talk to each other through video calls, we often keep in touch like this. The strength of the squad is our bond, so we are united even in difficult times. It’s what has characterized us throughout the season and it’s also going on in this period.”

He touched on his reaction when he heard that Inter had called off the Round of 16 UEFA Youth League game against Rennes last month.

“This choice was communicated to us by the club. All my teammates, including me, had a positive reaction because we were happy that Inter put our health first, which is the main thing and comes before everything else.”

Gianelli spoke about his goal against Barcelona.

“It was a fantastic afternoon, already the surroundings and the environment were something beautiful. Coming to the match, I’d say that we managed to beat Barcelona thanks to our technical and tactical qualities, it was a fabulous and unforgettable afternoon.”

He discussed the importance of gaining experience at a European level.

“In Europe you face teams with a different style of play and competitiveness compared to what you see in Italy. We’ve learned a lot along the way, both from victories and defeats. Now it’s up to us to make everything our own, we’ve strengthened ourselves even more.”

The Italian teenager touched on his reaction when he saw himself on coach Antonio Conte’s backup list for the Europa League.

“When I read it, I got so excited for two reasons. First, I didn’t expect it, and second, it made me proud of the work I’m doing. That’s a starting point for me, because I still need to improve a lot.”

Gianelli spoke about how it felt to train with the first team under Conte and which players that he looks up to.

“Within the squad I try to learn as much as possible from all the players. I like, for example, Brozovic’s intelligence and Barella’s hunger. As far as Conte is concerned, he’s a coach who directs the training sessions paying a lot of attention to every detail and he transmits his passion to the youngsters.”

He commented on Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito, who was promoted to the first team last summer by the coach.

“Sebastiano is a very strong player, he has developed technical and tactical skills and a lot of tenacity. I think he deserves this goal, he has shown it in many games, both in the Primavera and in the first team.”

The 18-year-old discussed his Primavera teammates and which ones impress him most.

“Surely everyone has impressed me, we are a very strong team and we need everyone. I hope, for the names mentioned [Stankovic, Pirola, Fonseca and Mulattieri, ed.], a bright and fabulous career, but I also wish the best to all the other teammates.”

Gianelli spoke about interest that he has received from some Serie B clubs and his contract renewal with the Nerazzurri.

“I see my path as a consequence of what I can do on the field. Right now, you can’t set goals because of this stop. As far as the contract is concerned, my agents and the club will take care of it. I want to stay focused on this season, obviously if it can be resumed. The rest will come eventually.”

He discussed his growth since arriving at Inter.

“I’m satisfied with what I’ve shown, even if I have to improve a lot. I have to be ready when we return to the field, provided there are the necessary requirements for a recovery.”

The Italian teenager spoke about his call up to the national team.

“When you wear the national team shirt, you must surely be proud of it and then show your skills on the pitch. The injury pushed me to take better care of my body, every day I try to never give up. In all this I have developed my tenacity and my hunger.”

Finally, Gianelli spoke about his goals for the future.

“It is difficult to set short-term goals because we are in a very complicated situation and for now, we have to think mainly about health. My ambition is to play professionally for some big clubs, but the biggest dream is to play in Serie A with the Inter jersey.”

Roma Legend Francesco Totti: “My Dream Has Always Been To Have Played With Ex-Inter Striker Ronaldo”

Roma legend Francesco Totti discussed former Inter striker Ronaldo and whether he tried to bring the Brazilian to Rome in an Instagram Q&A session earlier today. His words were noted by Italian media outlet Vocegiallorossa.it.

“My dream has always been to have played with Ronaldo the Phenomenon.”

He revealed that he knew he wouldn’t have been able to convince the player to join Roma.

“We would have been entertaining for 100 years! For me he was the strongest of all.”

Finally, Totti spoke about the talent of the 2002 World Cup winner.

“Between Barcelona and Inter he was devastating. He had a different head, it was embarrassing. I watch videos on TV sometimes of him, wow. How good.”

Ronaldo spent five years of his career with the Nerazzurri from 1997 to 2002, quickly becoming a fan favourite. The Brazilian striker made 98 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring 59 goals and providing three assists in that time.

His time with the Nerazzurri was heavily impacted by serious injuries, with the player only making 24 appearances for the club in his last three seasons in Milan.

Despite his struggles with injury, Ronaldo would go on to guide Brazil to a World Cup title in 2002, being the top scorer in the tournament.

Ex-Inter Striker David Suazo: “Playing For The Nerazzurri Was A Dream Come True, They Left A Profound Impact On Me”

Former Cagliari and Inter striker David Suazo discussed his career in Europe and Italy in an interview with South American media outlet Concacaf.com today.

“When I arrived, things were very hard. For me it was a new world, I didn’t really know the footballing identity of where I was arriving. It was all new. It was tough because it was a new idea of play, culture and language.”

He spoke about the importance of his first coach in Europe, Oscar Tabarez.

“The only thing that gave me confidence to face everything in my first year was that I was lucky enough to have Oscar Tabarez as my manager. He introduced me to the European world, he talked to me about it, he told me not to worry about it, that it was always tough at first. Those were words that helped me a lot and him being Uruguayan he could help me in that sense. If it had been an Italian manager, I’m not sure what would have happened in my career in Italy, but with the coach Tabarez, he gave me the tranquility to do my job.”

Suazo discussed how important Cagliari is to him and how they gave so much to his life.

“Cagliari is a part of my life in which I formed into a footballer and a man. I arrived 19 years old and left at 27, so from a boy to man. Cagliari represents me internationally as a footballer. They gave me the time to grow from a football perspective, to make mistakes in football which is important for a player. I had great managers who believed in my capability, so Cagliari is a special place. When I stopped playing, I stayed in the city to manage and my family was born and raised here. My wife is Italian, so Cagliari is my second home.”

The 40-year-old Honduran spoke about how it felt to move from Cagliari to Inter.

“When you go from a small club to a big, historic club like Inter, you find yourself in a totally different situation. You’re playing with top level players, you’re playing for top managers. I think it was a great decision because we were champions that year and then later in 2010 I got to work with Mourinho, win the Champions League and play with players like Samuel Eto’o, Diego Milito, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luis Figo, Adriano, Marco Materazzi, Samuel, Ivan Cordoba, Esteban Cambiasso.”

He touched on how special it felt to play amongst these stars and what it meant for him as a Honduran.

“When you find yourself with these players in the dressing room, playing in the greatest stadium against the greatest players in the best competitions in the world, it makes you proud, and for me as a Honduran to form part of the history of a great club like Inter is a moment of pride. They are dreams that have come true. It’s a club that left a profound impact on me and is a successful part of my career for all the titles we won.”

Finally, Suazo highlighted how his experiences playing and working alongside top players helped him to strengthen the Honduran national team as well.

“Mancini to Mourinho to Benitez, they are all managers that I had at Inter and are all winning managers. Their attitudes were contagious to me and same with players. No matter where Ibrahimovic went, he won. Same with Eto’o, Figo, too, so those are players that automatically transmit that positivity to you and it stays with you, and I would then take that back to my teammates on the Honduran national team.”

Suazo made 41 appearances across all competitions during his time in Milan with the Nerazzurri. In that time, he scored eight goals and provided four assists, struggling to earn consistent minutes on the pitch. Despite that, he was part of the Treble winning squad in the 2009/10 season.

Italy Coach Roberto Mancini: “If Massimo Moratti Was Still Inter’s President The Club Would Try To Sign Barcelona’s Lionel Messi”

Italy coach Roberto Mancini discussed his thoughts about the restart of the season, the postponement of Euro 2020 and the potential transfer of Lionel Messi to Inter in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

First, he highlighted how he wants the league to restart as soon as possible.

“I hope the league will restart as soon as possible because football is a very important social thing, then we will see what will happen. And I hope this terrible thing will end soon. It will take a bit more time but we deserve to go back to living like before. I think anything can happen because there’s never been such a situation before.”

The former Inter and Manchester City coach discussed the title race and which club he thinks are the favourites.

“It’s difficult to make predictions, Juventus are in the lead and remain the strongest but anything can happen, Inter and Atalanta could be back in the race. When you stop for so long everything can change, nothing is impossible.”

Mancini spoke about how the postponement of Euro 2020 may help the Italian national team.

“We are one of the youngest teams so a year more experience will improve everyone, both technically and athletically. It will be an important tournament for me and for us. We have managed to create a strong team that can improve and that can play to win.”

He highlighted how important it is for Italy to win next summer’s tournament.

“Bringing the European Championship back to Italy after so many years, since the last one was won in 1968, would be a great thing that we want to do. We have the quality to be able to do it.”

Finally, Mancini discussed the rumours that Inter are looking to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

“If Moratti had remained president of Inter, knowing him, I think he would have tried, as he did with Ronaldo, who was one of the strongest strikers in the world. He managed to bring him to Inter. The newspapers say that Messi is not very happy but maybe instead he’s the happiest person and wants to stay at Barcelona.”

The Azzurri, under the guidance of Mancini, won every game in their Euro 2020 qualifying group, with highlights being the 9-1 win over Armenia and the 3-0 win away at Bosnia. Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo, who was expected to play a key role in Euro 2020 before suffering a serious injury, will now be able to recover in time for the tournament.
