Inter Close To Extending Contracts Of Stefan De Vrij & Milan Skriniar

Inter are securing their core defenders by offering them new contracts, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have offered a new contract to both Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij, in order to secure their services and ensure that other clubs won’t look to sign either of the players in the summer.

The 25-year-old Slovakian defender, whose current deal expires in 2023, has already signed the renewal, ensuring that he will be tied to the club for at least four more years.

The Dutch defender will sign his new contract soon, the report continues. The 28-year-old’s current deal expires in 2023 as well, and he too is a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s defense.

The former Juventus and Chelsea coach has communicated to the Nerazzurri’s management that he doesn’t want to lose these two defenders, as well as Alessandro Bastoni and Samir Handanovic, who has signed a new contract that expires in 2022.

Inter Will Only Accept Cash For €111M Rated Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez

Inter are not looking to offer Barcelona a discount on Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how Blaugrana coach Quique Setien is incredibly keen to sign the 22-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023. The Catalan side believe that he would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez, who will be 34 in January.

Inter are happy to keep Lautaro, the report continues, if Barcelona don’t match the player’s €111 million release clause. The only way that the Blaugrana would be able to pay less cash would be to offer certain players, with the Nerazzurri’s favourite being Arthur.

Other players that could be included include previous Inter target Arturo Vidal. Barcelona, however, may instead focus their efforts on signing Brazilian star Neymar, delaying the deal for Lautaro until next summer.

Chelsea Beat Man Utd & Arsenal To Signing Napoli’s Dries Mertens As Inter Look Elsewhere

Chelsea are close to signing Napoli’s Belgian striker Dries Mertens, whose contract expires with the Partenopei at the end of the season, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Blues have appreciated the 32-year-old Belgian for a while now and are keen to sign him on a free transfer. The West London club know that they will lose French forward Olivier Giroud on a free transfer in the summer and so signing Mertens is a low-cost and effective replacement.

Chelsea are ahead of other interested clubs, the report continues. Arsenal and Manchester United are also both keen on Mertens but now have a less chance to secure his signature.

Inter have never really made a move for the Belgian, appreciating that he is unlikely to join a different club in Italy after spending the last seven years with the Partenopei.

Spanish Report Claims Barcelona Pushing To Sign PSG’s Neymar This Summer & Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Next Summer

A report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper AS has suggested that Barcelona’s top priority this summer is Brazilian striker Neymar.

The report details how the Blaugrana would be willing to do anything to close the deal with Paris Saint Germain for the Brazilian star, who was sold by the Catalan club to PSG for a world record fee. President Josep Maria Bartomeu has identified Neymar as the priority, deviating from the preferences of coach Quique Setién, who instead is pushing to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

Barcelona would be willing to send multiple players to Paris in exchange for Neymar, the report continues, including French defender Samuel Umtiti. The Brazilian star would also like to return to Spain and return to Catalonia.

Barcelona are still interested in Lautaro, the report adds. The Blaugrana would be happy to postpone to talks for the 22-year-old Argentine striker until next year, instead looking to sign the player in the summer of 2021.

Everton Striker Moise Kean Could Join Inter If Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez Leaves Club

Italian striker Moise Kean could join Inter in the summer if Nerazzurri striker Lautaro Martinez joins Barcelona, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 20-year-old Italian forward’s agent is Mino Raiola, who has a strong relationship with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta.

Kean was bought by Premier League side Everton last summer for around €30 million but has failed to adapt to the English game. Kean has scored one goal and provided two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Kean would cost around €25 million, the report continues. The Nerazzurri could look to sign the 20-year-old as a lower cost investment for the future, which would allow them to spend the money earned by the sale of Lautaro on a more exciting option, like Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa. Other options for Inter’s forward department include Dries Mertens and Olivier Giroud.

Inter are prepared to invest in Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali after receiving approval from the club’s owners, the Suning group, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

Italian Journalist Pedullà: “Inter Target Olivier Giroud Could Extend Contract With Chelsea”

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà has suggested that French striker and Inter target Olivier Giroud could renew his contract with Chelsea, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908.it today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Frenchman’s contract is expiring with the West London club at the end of the season, after two years with the side. The Blues may be willing to offer Giroud a new contract due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, which is expected to have a significant impact on the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri were incredibly close to signing the 2018 World Cup winner in the January transfer window, the report continues, before focusing their attention of Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, which saw the deal for Giroud collapse. Inter coach Antonio Conte believes that the Frenchman would be the perfect backup for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, considering their similar physical attributes and their ability to hold up the play to bring in teammates.

Inter Legend & Cagliari Coach Walter Zenga: “Don’t See The Point In Signing Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal When You Already Have Nainggolan”

Cagliari coach Walter Zenga discussed Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan and the current Inter squad in an interview with Italian broadcaster Telelombardia earlier today.

First, he spoke about the qualities of the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder.

“I found a guy very helpful in any situation and of great depth. When I heard about Vidal, I always thought why would they take Vidal if Radja is there. This is a thought of mine, I am happy to have him with me because he is someone who makes the difference. I’m his coach and I’m holding on to him, if Inter wanted to leave him here for another year I’d be the happiest man in the world. Then I don’t know if there are possibilities, my idea is to be a coach and I express my needs but I can’t get into various situations.”

He spoke about the emotions he feels when he goes to the San Siro.

“Every once in a while, the polls come out on the best goalkeeper at Inter. Inter have always had excellent interpreters of the role, the last one being Samir Handanovic but also Julio Cesar, Gianluca Pagliuca, Francesco Toldo… But the difference is one thing, it’s one thing to arrive and do well in a club, it’s another to grow up in a club, be part of a fan base and do what I did. Every player has his own era, you can’t say that Sarti was better than Zenga or Toldo, but the only difference is that I was born, grew up as an Inter fan and I’ll die as an Inter fan. 22 years of Inter will never be erased. Then it’s clear that now I’m the coach of Cagliari and I’m keeping this bench tight, then with Crotone at San Siro I almost won.”

Zenga was positive about the current Inter squad and coach Antonio Conte.

“Yes, Antonio Conte did a great job. We’re talking about a coach who is in the top ten in the world, you can also see how he was managing the season. Maybe winning the first go round isn’t as easy as it happened to him elsewhere, but he cleared the dogma of a coach of a team who would never go and coach a rival.”

The former Nerazzurri goalkeeper knew that he would never coach rivals Juventus.

“Juve would never call me, because I’m not among the top ten coaches in the world. My coaching career was created by myself, I went around the world. I’ve coached in places like Gaziantep in Turkey, 100 km from the border with Syria, but they always treated me well.”

He spoke about what would happen should he push Cagliari to a top 6 finish and Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici called him.

“If that happens, Tommaso Giulini will do anything to hold me back. And it would be the greatest satisfaction. Every coach is a professional, Conte, Allegri and Sarri are great coaches and those who are at the top have a different vision of their work. There’s no way they call me, teams like Inter, Chelsea or Real Madrid, but not because I’m poor, but because I have to do a certain path. If I’m going to do it, then I don’t know.”

Zenga spoke a little about Inter’s youth system and his experiences there.

“I’m the kid who went to Inter when I was 10, I went on loan and came back. I went to Curva Nord, I turned Viale Ungheria into a place where they can look at me with pride. There won’t be any stories like mine because the systems have changed, the foreigner was once seen as a particular player, with the world that has changed so many things have changed. People like Baresi, Maldini, Bergomi, Costacurta, who were used to playing derby when they were little, can be counted on the fingers of one hand. When I see a Primavera lad who looks up to the grown-ups with admiration, like when I took four youngsters to Cagliari in the first team, I get excited.”

Finally, Zenga sent out a positive message to the city of Milan, touching on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

“I was in Milan until 19th February, I must say that I was seeing the Milan of the 90s again, I’d like to find it like that. This is my wish for all the Milanese and all the Lombards, Lombardy gives a lot and we’re tough.”

Zenga spent the majority of his career with the Nerazzurri, where he made 473 appearances across his 22 seasons with the club. In that time, he conceded 424 goals and kept 194 clean sheets.
