Hungary National Team Coach: “RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai Will Sign For One Of Inter, Lazio Or AC Milan”

Hungary coach Marco Rossi discussed Hungarian talent Dominik Szoboszlai, who has been linked with AC Milan, Lazio and Inter, in an interview with Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com today.

First, he discussed how his project is going with the Hungarian national team.

“It’s going pretty well. We would have liked to qualify directly for the European Championships, but it wasn’t possible. In the return games of the round we had some problems with injuries. Not having many names of international level, it was hard to give up 5 out of 6 midfielders against Croatia and 3 out of 4 defenders against Wales. We paid for it. But as improvements have been seen in several ways, so we can be moderately satisfied.”

Rossi touched on his initial move to Hungary in 2012.

“I started in a fortuitous and forced way. In Italy I could only coach in Serie C, after that I had no more options. Since February 2011 I spent a year and a half without job offers. During that time, I went a couple of times to Hungary to visit a friend who had a restaurant and in a completely fortuitous way I met the then sports director of Honved, the Italian Fabio Cordella. From what comes and soon afterwards I had the chance to start working with the first team of Honved.”

The Italian coach then spoke about his appointment as Hungary coach.

“I came to the National Team as a result of the work I did in the clubs. The first year I came third with the youngest team in the league. In 2014, a month before the end, I thought I had exhausted my experience there and resigned, thinking I could find something in a short time. That wasn’t the case and after 9 months Honved was in trouble in the standings and I agreed to come back. In two years, we won the title that had been missing for more than 20 years. That team had the lowest budget in the entire league. Like when Verona won in Italy. A miracle. The Federation knew me, the only hesitation was to understand if I could be up to the national team as well.”

Rossi discussed Szoboszlai and if they have talked about a move to Italy.

“I spoke with him and also with his agent, with whom I have a very good relationship. And the agent told me, until recently, before the chaos for the coronavirus broke out, that they had several offers from Italy and that in all probability he would come to Italy. The circle narrows down to the two Milanese clubs and Lazio. His agent was very confident, the idea was that he would come during the winter break, then for a number of reasons they postponed until June. I don’t know if things have changed now.”

He revealed that the talks had progressed past initial inquiries.

“Yes, yes absolutely. Clearly, they didn’t tell me the details, but I think so. I think they’re already negotiating with one of the three teams I’ve mentioned, although I can’t tell you with which of the three.”

The 55-year-old highlighted how moving to Italy will help the player improve, considering the strengths of Serie A.

“They see in Italy a chance for further improvement. He has so much talent, an innate talent, and a great personality, which is what we think he can do a great career for. He has important technical qualities, a great right and left foot, vision of the game, even physical. Despite his height, he has good dynamism and speed. I think coming to Serie A would improve him in the aspect where he’s lacking, that is, in the defensive phase and in the defensive transitions, even though he’s improved lately. No league improves you more from this point of view than the Italian one.”

Rossi touched on the many positions that the 19-year-old can play.

“He is at his best in a 3-man midfield, for example in a 4-3-1-2 or a 4-3-3. As a left midfielder, but also as a trequartista. That is the position in which I think he expresses himself at his best. He has to be in the middle of the action and he has to be used in the final third.”

He discussed which players that Szoboszlai reminds him of.

“I’ll surprise you, but he reminds me a little of Max Allegri, though faster. You know, he was tall, leaning in the race. Allegri didn’t reach the top of the level because he lacked something from a dynamic point of view, while Szoboszlai has great speed too.”

Finally, Rossi discussed if the Hungarian teenager is ready to play for a big club like AC Milan or Inter.

“This is the step he has to take. I think he could play in a team like Lazio, or Inter or AC Milan. Then it’s up to him to understand how to integrate into the tactical mechanisms and above all to understand that in Italy it’s essential to be complete. You have to do well in all phases. He’s a clever lad, at most he’ll struggle at the start, but if they give him a break-in period, in 3-4 months he can be ready to play as a starter.”

Ex-Man Utd Fullback Ashley Young Set To Stay At Inter Over Next Season

Inter wing back Ashley Young is the only player to have secured his spot in the squad, as the Nerazzurri look for reinforcements for the department, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 35-year-old Englishman, who joined the Nerazzurri from Manchester United in the January transfer window, has quickly managed to convince coach Antonio Conte of his capabilities and will receive a contract extension for next year soon. The ongoing Coronavirus emergency has stalled the talks but it is clear that Young will remain in Milan for next season.

Inter have identified players that they would like to sign in order to reinforce the department, the report continues. Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are the players at the top of the list, but the Nerazzurri are aware of the difficulty of negotiating with the Blues. Other alternatives include Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo and Junior Firpo, who could be included in the deal for Lautaro Martinez.

Spanish Report Claims Lautaro Martinez Has Told Inter He Wants Barcelona Move

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has told the Nerazzurri’s management that he wants to join Barcelona in the summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Marca.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has a €111 million release clause, a significantly lower number compared to the Blaugrana’s other dream target, Brazilian forward Neymar. The Catalan club believe Lautaro would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez, who will be 34 next January. In recent seasons the player has suffered from injuries and Lautaro would be able to slot in the squad perfectly.

Lautaro has communicated to both Barcelona and Inter that he wants to make the move to Spain in the summer, the report continues, as he believes that now is the right time for the deal. The Blaugrana plan to lower the raw cost of the 22-year-old by offering players to Inter in exchange, with names like Arturo Vidal cropping up.

Inter Treble Hero Christian Chivu: “No Coincidence That Sebastiano Esposito Already In Inter’s First Team”

Legendary Inter defender Cristian Chivu has sang the praises of Inter teen sensation Sebastiano Esposito and revealed that he would have liked to have come up against him.

“He is young and still has a lot to learn. He has the opportunity to do it in a team of professionals of the highest level. I would have liked to play against him. It is no coincidence that he is already in the first team at Inter,” he remarked in an interview with Performance Training Studio via Instagram.

The 17-year-old striker has had a bit of a breakthrough this season at first team level with thanks to Antonio Conte who has shown a lot of trust in him.

Multiple reports in the media as of late have suggested that Inter are preparing to tie him down to the club for the foreseeable future with a five year professional contract when he turns 18-years-old at the beginning of July.

This season the Italian youth international has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and tallied a single assist. 11 of the appearances have come for the first team as has one of the goals.

Italian Report Claims Inter Want To Keep Fiorentina Owned Cristiano Biraghi

Fiorentina do not plan to keep a hold of Cristiano Biraghi should he not be purchased outright by Inter according to a report from the online edition of Florence based newspaper La Nazione.

Biraghi is currently out on loan at Inter and the Nerazzurri club would like to keep him at the club as he is very helpful to have in the squad for the sake of homegrown player registration for UEFA competitions.

However, if the clubs cannot come to an agreement over the permanent transfer of the 27-year-old full back, Fiorentina have already planned what they could do with Biraghi.

The report goes on to state that Fiorentina could try and conduct a swap deal with Roma which would see Biraghi head to the Italian capital in exchange for Leonardo Spinnazzola, most likely on a loan basis.

Whilst at Inter this season, Biraghi has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored one goal and tallied four assists.

Inter Line Up Hellas Verona’s Kumbulla & Torino’s Izzo To Replace Parting Ex-Atletico Madrid Defender Godin

Inter have a number of potential replacements in mind for if Diego Godin goes on to leave the club in the coming months according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The 34-year-old defender only joined Inter this past Summer on a free transfer but speculation is mounting that he could be on his way out having struggled throughout the season and having lost his place in the team to Alessandro Bastoni.

As per FCInterNews.it, Inter and Godin could agree to mutually part ways. By parting ways Inter would be able to make a big saving in terms of his wages whilst Godin could move somewhere else where he could play more.

The report goes on to state that Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla and Torino’s Armando Izzo are both candidates to replace Godin at Inter.

It also adds that the Nerazzurr’s interest in Tottnham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen has cooled as they would prefer to focus on younger players such as the two above and players who do not have such high wages.
