Ex-Inter President Moratti: “Inter Did Very Well To Let Volpi Speak About His Coronavirus Experience”

Former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti has praised Inter for having club doctor Piero Volpi speak out about his experience with Coronavirus.

Volpi was hospitalised by the virus at the end of March and in an interview earlier on this month with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, he detailed his experience and said he would not wish the virus upon anyone.

“I think Inter did very well to let Piero Volpi speak about the bad experience he had and that made it clear how dangerous it is,” Moratti remarked in an interview with Italian radio station TeleRadioStereo, which is based in the nation’s capital, Rome.

Moratti, who held a controlling stake in Inter for just shy of 20 years, then went on to highlight the action that Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has taken: “I only seen Romelu Lukaku speak out and clearly point out what the danger of this was.”

Moratti purchased a controlling stake in Inter back in 1995 from Ernesto Pellegrini and spared no expense during his time at the helm of the club as he oversaw a period of great success which involved the winning of a historic treble in the 2009/10 season.

Inter Linked Sontje Hansen: “I Don’t Know What Ajax’s Plan Is”

Sontje Hansen has admitted to being unaware of what current employers Ajax’s intentions are for him amid a series of links to other clubs in the media.

The highly rated young attacker has drawn links to Inter and Manchester City in particular in the past few days and during an Instagram live video with his followers, he discussed his future.

“I don’t know what Ajax’s plan is. I still have a year left on my current contract. They have to offer me a contract first, then I can choose,” he remarked.

Hansen is eligible to sign a professional contract with the Dutch powerhouses next month when he turns 18-years-old and it now remains to be seen what will happen.

The 17-year-old has been with Ajax since he was 10-years-old and has been given two opportunities to impress at first team level this term.

Hansen has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In just over 1400 minutes on the park, the youngster has scored seven goals and tallied six assists although none of the goal contributions were made during his two first team appearances.

Alfredo Pedulla: “Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez Has Accepted A Contract Offer From Barcelona”

Transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has accepted a bumper contract offer from Barcelona.

Lautaro has been heavily linked with a Summer switch to the Blaugrana club and Pedulla has confirmed in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportItalia that the 22-year-old has already agreed terms with his prospective new employers.

Pedulla also states that Inter are reluctant to let highly rated Argentine national team forward to depart the club due to not wanting to appear weak.

“The Nerazzurri club cannot lose him from a technical or image point of view. Lautaro has already accepted the offer of over €10 million net per season from Barcelona, who have asked him for clarity on his future,” Pedulla began.

“Makeweights in a deal? Inter like Arturo Vidal but Inter think it would be a sign of weakness if they were to accept an offer from an image point of view.

“Lautaro must not post photos on social networks with the Inter shirt and clarify once and for all his intentions in relation to his future.”

Barcelona aside, Lautaro has also been heavily linked with a move to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

The former Racing Club player is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season and has a €111 million release clause in his current contract, which can only be activated by clubs outside of Italy during the first two weeks in July.

This season he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

Inter Not Prioritising Move For Brescia’s Tonali As They Want Fiorentina’s Castrovilli

Inter are not prioritising the signing of Brescia’s Sandro Tonali due to having their sights set on another midfielder according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Reports in the media have long linked Inter with the 19-year-old midfield sensation who has been compared to legendary Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo but Inter are instead focusing on signing Fiorentina’s Gaetano Castrovilli, this report claims.

Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso has insisted that the 23-year-old, who has been a total revelation this season, is not for sale but he is Inter’s chosen one nevertheless.

€50 million rated Tonali has also drawn strong links to Inter’s arch rivals Juventus and the report from FCInterNews.it goes on to claim Juventus, like Inter, are currently focusing their attention on other players to him.

Juventus are in fact working on bringing Paul Pogba back to the club and also have an interest in signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

Could Barcelona & Inter Swap Antoine Griezmann For Lautaro Martinez?

As is widely reported, Inter and Barcelona are considering a swap deal concerning French FIFA 2018 World Cup Winner Antoine Griezmann for Argentinian wonderkid Lautaro Martinez.

The 29-year-old player left Atletico Madrid in 2019 and signed for Barcelona. Even though he had a rocky start – given his only 14 goals and 4 assists in 37 matches -, he is still widely considered a world-class player and comes with a fitting price tag as well. It goes without saying that this deal, if concluded, would also affect all football betting sites as well.

So, let’s take a closer look at this proposed deal and the two players at the heart of the deal.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann, is considered a world-class player, but didn’t have such a great first year after signing with Barcelona. As we mentioned above, to the dismay of Barcelona fans and tipsters alike, he’s managed to score only 14 goals in 37 appearances.

Given that Barcelona paid roughly €120 million to get Griezmann on the team, it is safe to say that both he and the club were rather disappointed with the performance.

However, Griezmann is only one part of this proposed surprising swap.

Lautaro Martinez

Compared to Griezmann, Lautaro Martinez is one of the key elements at Inter, managing to score 16 goals and notch up 4 assists in only 31 appearances. Overall, he comes with better stats than Griezmann so far this season.

On top of that, given that Martinez is only 22 years old, it’s clear why Barcelona would want him – and why he’d want to join Barcelona. Still, Martinez joining Barcelona will be decided by Inter only – as there’s a €111 million release clause in place in his contract with the Nerazzurri.

Why The Swap Seems Unlikely

Reportedly, just as when looking at football betting odds, the players’ wages are the main stumbling block that is holding this transfer back. To be more specific, Griezmann’s wages are very high and is making Inter have second thoughts – all the while Barcelona are more open to the deal when it comes to signing Martinez.

Still, such difficulties show what’s really valuable about the two. For example, it is widely believed in Barcelona that Martinez could be a perfect fit – and replacement for Luis Suarez – for Barcelona. On top of that, he and Messi may also work together and help each other grow even more.

The Uncertainty Of The Future

Naturally, in this moment, we have to take the coronavirus crisis into account as well. This crisis has made many clubs struggle with their finances and, as such, we may not see the swap materialize. Or we may see lower wages and transfer fees and have Martinez sign before the next season with Barcelona, although it seems very unlikely that Inter would accept this.

The Bottom Line

In the end, probably the biggest stumbling block in this deal is the €111 million release clause which Lautaro Martinez has in his contract with Inter. It is widely reported that the former Racing player is open to a move to Barcelona, but given that Inter demand the release clause be paid in full, the deal seems, for now, to be unlikely to be concluded.

On the other hand, Griezmann also seems like the right choice for Inter, and if coach Antonio Conte gives the green light and the Frenchman agrees to lower his wages, a cash plus player deal for Lautaro could end up materializing.

Inter, Juventus & Napoli All Keen On Signing Chelsea Defender Emerson Palmieri

Inter are one of three Serie A clubs with an interest in signing Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere del Mezzogiorno.

Reports in the media have suggested that the 25-year-old full back could be on his way out of the Premier League club, who are looking to improve at full back and as a result, a number of clubs have sparked an interest in signing him.

Inter showed an interest in him back in the January transfer window as did their arch rivals Juventus and both clubs have seemingly maintained their interest in the Italian national team defender, as per this report.

The report goes on to add that Napoli are also interested in him and could swoop in for him if Faouzi Ghoulam is to depart the club in the coming months.

This season the former Roma defender has made 18 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has tallied a single assist.

Barcelona Could Try Insert Dembele Into Deal For Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona could try and include Ousmane Dembele in a deal for Inter’s Lautaro Martinez according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Barcelona are extremely keen to land Lautaro and wish to do so on a player(s) plus cash basis and there has been no shortage of names suggested when it comes to potential makeweights.

Arturo Vidal, Carles Alena, Arthur, Junior Firpo, Nelson Semedo among a number of others have all been suggested in the media recently and as per the Rome based newspaper Dembele is the latest possibility.

However, the report does warn that the Frenchman’s annual salary of €9 million are likely to be a stumbling block for Inter.

The 22-year-old winger joined the Blaugrana club back in the Summer of 2017 on a five year deal from Borussia Dortmund and he has since went on to represent the club 74 times, in which he has scored 19 goals and provided 17 assists.

Inter Make Contract Offer To Napoli Striker Dries Mertens

Inter have tabled a contract offer to Napoli star Dries Mertens according to a report from Italian broadcaster SportMediaset.

Mertens current contract with Napoli is due to expire at the end of the season and for this reason other clubs are able to try and reach an agreement with him on a pre-contract basis.

Inter have offered him a two year deal with an annual salary of €6 million in the hope of snatching him away from Napoli, whose offer falls some way short of theirs.

As per the report, Napoli have offered the 32-year-old Belgian an annual salary of €4 million, €500,000 in bonuses and a signing on bonus.

Inter manager Antonio Conte is pushing to have Mertens brought in to take the place of Alexis Sanchez, who is set to return to Manchester United once his loan with the club expires.

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is also at work trying to convince his compatriot to join him in Milan.

Inter Identify Tottenham’s Vertonghen As Potential Replacement For Godin

Inter have identified Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen as Diego Godin’s replacement, should he leave the club in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Godin has drawn links with a few other clubs in recent weeks, including Spurs, with many reports suggesting he could be on his way out of Inter after just a single season having struggled since his arrival on a free transfer this past Summer.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the experienced Uruguayan centre back and this report would suggest that if he does leave, Inter will not be found unprepared.

Vertonghen’s contract with Spurs is due to expire in a matter of months and he could therefore be acquired on a free transfer.

This season Vertonghen has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored two goals and contributed a single assist.

Inter Could Offer One Of Dalbert, Nainggolan Or Gagliardini To Fiorentina As Part Of Deal For Castrovilli

Inter could try and tempt Fiorentina into dealing Gaetano Castrovilli by including a player as part of any deal according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter face strong competition from arch rivals Juventus for his signature and as per the report they have more players to offer La Viola than Juventus do.

Juventus are hoping to be able to tempt Fiorentina by offering Rolando Mandragora whilst Inter could offer one of Dalbert, Radja Nainggolan or Roberto Gagliardini as part of a deal for the highly rated 23-year-old, who is having his breakthrough season in Serie A.

The Italian national team midfielder, who has a contract with the Stadio Artemio Franchi side until 2024, could reportedly cost clubs in the region of €40-50 million but by inserting a player interested clubs could bring down the cash element of the deal.

This season he has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and tallied two assists.
