Barcelona’s Difficult Financial Situation Could Affect Pursuit Of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has warned that the club are facing bankruptcy and this could well have an impact on their pursuit of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Barcelona have been strongly linked with a move for the highly rated 22-year-old for some time now but in an open letter Font has revealed that the very existence of Barcelona is at risk due to the crippling debts.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his current Inter contract and it is understood that Inter will not let him leave the club unless this clause is paid in full.

It has however been widely reported in the media that Barcelona do not want to pay his release clause, which is only valid to foreign clubs during the first fortnight every July, and would instead prefer to do a player(s) plus cash deal for the player.

Manchester City Considering Paying €110M Release Clause Of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Manchester City are weighing up paying Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s release clause according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

However, the report warns that it remains to be seen if City can afford to pay the release clause for Financial Fair Play reasons.

The reigning Premier League champions have recently gotten in bother for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations and this has led to them being given a two year ban from the Champions League meaning they have to be especially careful.

Lautaro’s release clause currently stands at €111 million and is only valid for the first two weeks every July to clubs outside of Italy.

Barcelona have also shown a strong interest in signing the highly rated 22-year-old but it is understood that they do not want to pay the clause and would rather do a player(s) plus cash deal.

Multiple reports have suggested that Inter will not let Lautaro go for anything less than his release clause and this report goes on to conclude that if he stays Inter will try and sign him to a new contract with an annual salary worth in excess of €4 million.

Italian Report Claims PSG Signing Inter Owned Icardi Could Lead To Verratti Moving To Real Madrid

Should Mauro Icardi join Paris Saint Germain permanently, a domino effect will begin according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old Argentine striker is currently out on loan at the reigning French champions from Inter and PSG can sign him up on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

Whilst on loan in the French capital, former Barcelona academy player Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored 16 goals and provided a total of four assists for his teammates.

If PSG decide to sign him, they could then deal him to Juventus as part of a deal that would see them acquire midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

If this were to take place it would then create the conditions for Marco Verratti to move to La Liga giants Real Madrid, the report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state.

Nicola Berti: “I See Myself In Barella, Conte Is Building A Solid & Winning Inter”

In an interview with Rome based newspaper La Repubblica, legendary Inter midfielder Nicola Berti spoke on a range of different Inter related topics and started off by speaking about which of Inter’s current players he sees himself most in.

“I see myself in Nicolo Barella. Compared to me he is shorter and more technical. I was physically disruptive, but we have the same spirit. He is my current favourite player in the Inter squad. We also have the same numbers on the shirt and initials,” he began the interview which appeared in today’s print edition.

Berti then went on to reveal that he tried to convince former national team teammate Antonio Conte to take on the Inter job earlier on.

“A year and a half ago, when Spalletti was already teetering on the Inter bench, Conte and I met at a resort in Puglia. I said to him: come on, I’ll take you to Pinetina!

“He laughed. Even if he doesn’t look like a butterfly, Antonio knows how to enjoy life. Antonio is building a solid and winning team. As a fan, I’m really happy about it. ”

Berti then went on to recall Giovanni Trapattoni’s time in charge and discussed how things have changed since that time.

“Comparing today’s teams to those of twenty years ago makes no sense. Everything has changed, except the spirit. The merit belongs to the two coaches. Trap also had a Milanese past.

“For him, winning the Nerazzurri support over must have been more complicated. In the eighties football was followed in a visceral way. Today the idea that the coach and the player are professionals is more widespread “.

He then went on to reveal that Inter employed someone to keep an eye on him during his time with the club due to his personality.

“I had the reputation of being bizarre and lively, and for this reason Inter stalked me! They paid someone to always stay behind me, then in training they asked me what I was doing in that place the other night. My answer was always the same. If I run on the pitch, what I do in the evening is my business.”

Next he shared what he believes was the best goal he scored for Inter.

“The one in the derby in 1992/92. Ruben Sosa was preparing to kick the free kick and I was marked by two men and I said aloud: ‘Now I will score.’ The ball came in high and I headed it in. It was crazy and I still enjoy it today.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on the possibility of the season resuming and shared when he thinks football should resume.

“Health is a serious matter, and I think it would be wiser to wait for September. In any case, I think they will try. They will try to play many games in no time, behind closed doors, limiting the contacts of the teams and staff with the outside world. From a certain point of view, I understand it. Everyone is missing football.”

Inter Watching Kondogbia’s Situation At Valencia Closely Due To Future Sale Clause

Valencia find themselves at a crossroads when it comes to what they want to do with midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia according to a report in today’s print edition of Spanish newspaper SuperDeporte.

Kondogbia has done well for Valencia since his arrival from Inter in the Summer of 2017 and they could look to sign him to a contract extension.

However, Valencia also find themselves in a position where they need to make one, perhaps even two, big sales and Kondogbia could well be one of them to raise important funds.

Some of Valencia’s fellow La Liga clubs are said to be keen on signing him as are some clubs from the Premier League.

Inter are watching how the situation develops with particular interest the report goes on due to the fact they will receive no less than 25% of any transfer fee that Los Ches get for the 27-year-old Central African Republic national team player.

Lukaku & Barcelona Star Griezmann Could Be Inter’s Strike Force Next Season

Inter could have a strike force consisting of Romelu Lukaku and Antoine Griezmann next season according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Milan based newspaper have today suggested that Inter and Barcelona could do a swap deal involving Lautaro Martinez and Griezmann and in another report they have taken a look at how Inter could line-up if this swap were to in fact take place.

Inter manager Antonio Conte would not change from a 3-5-2 system but could make some tweaks to it thanks to Griezmann’s arrival, which will also benefit January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen, who has so far failed to impress in Nerazzurri.

Griezmann is more of a second striker than Lautaro is and would guarantee unpredictability and a great deal of quality.

This season the 29-year-old has made 37 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 14 goals and tallied four assists.

Inter Owned Nainggolan Wants Cagliari Stay But His Wages Are Problematic For Them

Radja Nainggolan wishes to remain with Cagliari past the end of this season but it will be far from simple according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Belgian has found his best form again back in Sardinia and well aware he is out of Inter’s project, he wishes to stick around at the Rossoblu, where he is very much valued.

Moreover, with his wife currently battling cancer, Nainggolan does not wish to have to move abroad and would rather remain in Sardinia, an area both of them know very well.

However, his annual salary of €4.5 million is far too much for Cagliari and simply unsustainable for them. Cagliari president Tommasso Giulini has also even recently admitted they could not afford to even pay so much as half of his wages.

Inter cannot just give him away the report states and it suggests that all parties must try to find a solution.

Inter & Barcelona Could Swap Lautaro Martinez & Antoine Griezmann But It Won’t Be Straightforward

Inter have developed an interest in Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with Inter striker Lautaro Martinez for a number of months now and the report claims that a swap deal involving the two players is not complete fantasy.

Both players have similar valuations from their clubs meaning a straight up swap would be possible but it will be far from easy at the same time.

The biggest obstacle to a swap deal taking place however is Griezmann’s huge wages. He took a €6 million cut when he left Atletico Madrid to join Barcelona and now earns €17 million a season but even with the new tax laws in Italy regarding foreign workers the salary would still be out of reach for the Nerazzurri.

In order for Griezmann to join Inter he would have to agree to another significant cut to his wages.
