Napoli Fear They Could Lose Dries Mertens Amidst Interest From Inter, Chelsea & Borussia Dortmund

Napoli are beginning to fear that they could lose Dries Mertens in the coming months according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Mertens current contract with the Stadio San Paolo club is due to expire at the end of this season and it appeared as if he was going to sign a contract extension following a positive meeting with club president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis but it not longer seems so sure that he will stick around given interest from elsewhere.

Napoli have offered him a two year contract extension with an annual salary of €4 million plus a €2 million signing on bonus but as per the report, Inter have offered him a two year deal with an option with a third which comes with an annual salary of €5 million plus bonuses.

Belgian national team teammate Romelu Lukaku is also trying to convince him to leave Napoli and join him in Milan at Inter.

AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Chelsea have all also been linked with signing him in recent weeks too.

Napoli Join Inter & AC Milan In Tracking Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne

Napoli have identified Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne as a potential replacement for Faouzi Ghoulam should he leave the club in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Il Mattino.

Ghoulam has drawn some links over moves elsewhere in the media recently and Napoli are seemingly ready to transfer list him at the end of the season.

The Stadio San Paolo club have meanwhile identified Castagne as a player who could replace the Algerian national team full back but the report claims that Napoli are not alone in courting the Belgian national team defender.

Il Mattino specifically state that both Inter and AC Milan are also keen on him as they look to bolster their full back department whilst other reports in the media have linked him with the likes of Premier League side Leicester City.

This season the 24-year-old has made 19 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored two goals and provided as many assists.

Italian Journalist Biasin: “Messi Won’t Leave Barcelona & Lautaro Martinez Won’t Leave Inter”

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has shared his belief neither Lionel Messi nor Lautaro Martinez will depart their respective employers in the coming months amid continued speculation in Argentine, Spanish and Italian media.

In the past week or so Messi has been strongly linked with a departure from Barcelona with Inter among clubs linked whilst Lautaro has long been linked with a move to Barcelona who see him as one of their top targets for the next transfer window.

I never believed it [Messi leaving Barcelona to join Inter] would be possible and I haven’t changed my mind. I believe his arrival is impossible. Messi will stay where he is,” Biasin remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet Malpensa24.it.

“As for Lautaro, Barcelona are interested in him but Lautaro has never asked to leave Inter. He will remain at Inter.”

Biasin proceeded to share his views regarding what he thinks will happen with Mauro Icardi, who is owned by Inter and currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain.

“He will not stay at Inter, nor will Nainggolan, who will not return either. A decision was made about them some time ago. There has never been a discussion with Conte about this. The management decided that they would not be part of the project when he arrived and he already knew it.”

He concluded the interview by discussing the recent reports in the media that have seen Inter linked with a move for Manchester United and France national team midfielder Paul Pogba: “Inter cannot be excluded but I do not know if it will be possible.”

Cagliari Director Passetti: “We’ll Speak With Nainggolan & Inter & See If We Can Build Something Together”

Cagliari sporting director Marco Passetti has confirmed that the club will hold talks with Inter over Radja Nainggolan at the end of the season.

Nainggolan is currently on loan at the Sardinia based club, who would reportedly like to keep a hold of him but the finances expected to be involved will make things very much difficult for the Rossoblu.

Inter reportedly want a sum in the region of €18 million for the 31-year-old Belgian and his reported €4.6 million annual salary will be a stumbling block for Cagliari in particular.

“It’s clear that, after what is happening, to think that Cagliari will be able to afford the wage of Nainggolan is quite unrealistic,” Passetti remarked in an interview with Italian newspaper La Domenica Sportiva.

“The talks between the parties can make the difference. We will talk about it with Radja and we will talk about it with Inter. We will see if there are the conditions to build something together.”

Whilst back at Cagliari, who he previously played for between January 2010 and January 2014, Nainggolan has recaptured his best form again.

He has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In just over 1900 minutes on the park, he has scored five goals and has provided a total of six assists.

Inter In Talks With Chelsea Striker Olivier Giroud Over A Transfer In The Summer

Inter are in talks with Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud over a possible free transfer in the coming months according to a report from British news outlet The Daily Mail.

Giroud’s contract with his current employers is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and Inter are in talks with him over a two year deal worth £4 million a season (approximately €4.5 million).

Inter tried to sign Giroud in the most recent January transfer window and had terms agreed both with Chelsea and the player himself but the Blues pulled the plug on the deal late on when they could not find a suitable replacement for him.

Despite the deal collapsing, Inter have maintained their interest and Giroud has also maintained his interest in a move to Inter with him keen to work under Inter manager Antonio Conte again.

This season the 2018 World Cup winner has made 13 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals.

Italian Report Claims Inter Target Federico Chiesa Set To Sign Contract Extension With Fiorentina

Federico Chiesa will soon sign a contract extension with Fiorentina according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

The highly rated winger has long drawn links with moves away from La Viola with arch rivals Inter and Juventus both long term admirers of him.

The two clubs have tried to woo him for a while but Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso is absolutely reluctant to let his prized asset leave the club and he has been very vocal about this in the media for some time.

Chiesa is already under contract with the Florence based club until the end of the 2021/22 season and whilst a contract renewal would not guarantee his stay, it would certainly put Fiorentina in a strong position if clubs do indeed come in for him.

This season Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2100 minutes on the park he has scored seven goals and tallied five assists.
