Inter In Talks With PSG Defender Thomas Meunier Over Possible Free Transfer

Talks between Inter and Thomas Meunier over a potential move have begun according to a report from British news outlet The Daily Mail.

The 28-year-old Belgian national team defender’s contract with current employers Paris Saint Germain is due to expire at the end of this season and he looks set to depart them for pastures now.

Inter have identified him as a target as they look to bolster their full back department and the report claims that Inter manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of the former Club Brugge defender for a number of reasons, especially his tactical intelligence.

The Nerazzurri are however far from alone in keeping tabs on Meunier with the report also stating that Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are also keen on him. Reports elsewhere in the media have also strongly linked him with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

This season Meunier has scored one goal and contributed two assists in 27 appearances across all competitions to date.

Inter & Sporting Considering Joao Mario-Marcos Acuna Swap This Summer

Inter and Sporting could conduct a swap deal involving Joao Mario and Marcos Acuna in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese news outlet A Bola.

It could however be different come the next transfer window though with the report stating that the clubs are considering a straight swap deal involving the two players.

Sporting would like to bring Joao Mario back to the club, four years on from letting him go, and by agreeing to send Inter Marcos Acuna, they could well acquire him again.

Joao Mario has meanwhile made 15 appearances across all competitions whilst out on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow, during which he has scored once and tallied four assists.

Manchester United Or Tottenham Hotspur Most Likely To Sign Inter’s Diego Godin

Premier League duo Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur are the most likely clubs to sign Inter defender Diego Godin according to a report from Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Godin joined Inter this past Summer on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid to much excitement but the highly experienced Uruguayan centre back has struggled and could well leave the Nerazzurri in the coming months.

The 34-year-old has especially struggled to adapt to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system and has also recently lost his place in the team to 21-year-old Alessandro Bastoni.

The report states that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on him as he looks to improve the Red Devils back line whilst Spurs are looking at him as a potential replacement for Jan Vertonghen, who could leave the club.

This season Godin has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has contributed a single assist.

Inter Wont Send Nainggolan To Cagliari To Pay Remaining 25M Of Barella Transfer Fee

Radja Nainggolan will not be used by Inter as the payment of their second instalment for Nicolo Barella to Cagliari according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Reports in the media have suggested that Inter could send Nainggolan to the Rossoblu club, where he is currently on loan, on a permanent basis instead of paying the €25 million they are due to pay them for Barella.

However the report states that this will not happen for a few reasons, the first is Cagliari. As much as they would like to keep Nainggolan, his wages are a real stumbling block for them and would be unsustainable in the long term unless he agreed to greatly reduce his annual pay packet.

Moreover, Inter do not want to create any confusion or complicate things with regard to the Barella deal.

The report goes on to conclude that it is very much probable that Nainggolan’s future lies far from Milan but does not give any indication as to where it could be.

Manchester City Willing To Pay Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez’s €111m Release Clause

Manchester City are willing to trigger the release clause in Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s current contract according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The 22-year-old Argentine striker has a €111 million release clause in his contract with the club and the clause is only able to be activated by clubs outside of Italy during the first two weeks of July.

Barcelona have shown a very strong interest in signing him too but unlike Manchester City, they appear extremely reluctant to pay his release clause and would instead prefer to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him.

The report however goes on to state that Inter president Steven Zhang and chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta deem the players that Barcelona are seemingly willing to offer as part of a deal as uninteresting.

This season Lautaro has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
