Joao Mario: “Being With Inter Was Very Important For My Career, It Made Me Learn & Grow”

Inter owned midfielder Joao Mario, who is currently on loan with Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, discussed his time with the Nerazzurri and his season in Russia in an interview with International broadcaster Eleven Sports yesterday.

“When things do not go well, this fact marks you and you learn from that experience. Milan has been very important in my career, to make me learn and grow. Things would have been different if I had the mentality I have today, I had to live this experience to grow. I can’t say that I would have done something different because I only lived what happened in Milan.”

The 27-year-old Portuguese midfielder then touched on the competitiveness of the Russian league.

“There are 4 or 5 teams of very high level, but also the matches against the low-ranking teams. I have fun here, but I don’t hide the fact that I would like to try a different league, like the Spanish or French one.”

Mario has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Lokomotiv Moscow, for a total of 1287 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided four assists, seemingly impressing the Russian side enough for them to look to sign him permanently, albeit with a discount.

The player has made 69 appearances for the Nerazzurri since his arrival in 2016. In that time, he scored four goals and provided 13 assists, but is now set to be sold by Inter, even if Lokomotiv Moscow choose not to make his move permanent.

Inter Have Already Made A Move For Hellas Verona Starlet Marash Kumbulla

Inter have already made a move to sign Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Verona based newspaper L’Arena.

The report details how the 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, is set to be the centre of attention in the upcoming summer transfer window, with multiple clubs interested in signing him, including Napoli.

Inter are looking to sign the player as a young replacement for the aging Diego Godin, the report continues, although the club may place Kumbulla back on loan at Verona next season as well. The Nerazzurri are also considering signing Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen, whose contract is expiring with Tottenham at the end of the season.

The price for Kumbulla has been set at around €20 million, the report continues, as well as the renewal off the loans of Italian full back Federico Dimarco and Italian forward Eddie Salcedo.

Inter Considering Signing Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze On a Free Transfer

Inter are considering signing many players on a free transfer in the summer, with one of the most exciting being Borussia Dortmund forward Mario Gotze, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking for a new striker in the summer to add more options in the role, especially important considering the departure of Matteo Politano in January and the upcoming departure of Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez. Two of the names the Nerazzurri are following are Dries Mertens and Olivier Giroud, both of whom look unlikely to renew their contracts with their respective clubs.

Gotze, who has been contracted to Dortmund since 2016, has struggled to maintain consistent playing time this season and is looking for a move away, the report continues. The player’s career has been marked by many injuries, but this season he has managed to impress when given the chance.

Inter One Of Many Clubs Interested In Atletico Madrid Midfielder Thomas Partey

Inter are one of the many clubs interested in Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper As.

The report details how many clubs are interested in the 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, including Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Inter and Roma. The player’s contracted to the club until 2023, but only has a €50 million release clause, a low figure considering his qualities.

The Spanish side offered the player a new contract in October, the report continues, but it has not been accepted yet, despite the increased salary, which was attached to an increase of at least €10 million to the release clause.

Thomas has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Atletico, for a total of 2859 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided one assist, being a core part of the club’s midfield under coach Diego Simeone.

Italian Report Analyses Tactical Possibilities Of Playing Both Stefano Sensi & Christian Eriksen

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has analysed the tactical possibilities of playing Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi and Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen together.

The report details how the duo could play in the mezzala role alongside Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic in a 3-5-2 system, or in the trequartista role behind a single striker, in a 3-4-2-1 formation. Another possibility would be to lineup the team in a 4-3-1-2 formation, similar to how Carlo Ancelotti’s AC Milan were deployed at the start of the millennium.

One suggestion is to deploy both Eriksen and Sensi in the mezzala role, the report continues, which would allow Inter to look to dominate possession and looking to attack with numbers. Another option would be to play the former Spurs midfielder higher up the pitch, with Sensi playing as a mezzala. Nicolo Barella’s game would be impact but the dribbling quality in midfield would increase exponentially and there would be better chances for Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Risk Being Overtaken In Deal For Hellas Verona Starlet Marash Kumbulla

Inter risk being overtaken in the race to sign Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com today.

The report details how the 19-year-old Albanian defender will cost around €20-25 million. The Nerazzurri already had a deal in mind, by offering the Gialloblu both Federico Dimarco and Eddie Salcedo, two players already on loan at the club. However, the Milanese club are taking too long to progress the negotiations.

Many clubs are interested in Kumbulla, the report continues, including fellow Italian side Napoli. Inter are still waiting to secure a move away for Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin and are still considering whether to finalise the deal for Kumbulla, which risks them falling behind in the race as other clubs look to close the deal.

Kumbulla has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.
