Non-Italian Inter Players Back In Italy Apart From Diego Godin Who Is Expected On Monday Latest

The majority of the Inter squad who left Italy to return to their native countries have returned, apart from Uruguayan defender Diego Godin, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the following squad players have returned to Milan in preparation for a return to training: Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, Slovenian shot stopper Samir Handanovic, Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Nigerian winger Victor Moses and English full back Ashley Young.

Godin is expected to return either tomorrow or on Monday, the report continues. The reason for his delay is due to the transcontinental flight, which has more safety requirements.

The players will return to training at home and will continue following the controlled diet, waiting for the green light so they can return to work. The Italian government has suggested that training could resume on May 4th.

Italian Report Confirms Inter’s Interest In Porto Winger Jesus Corona

Inter are interested in Porto winger Jesus Corona and are considering making a move for him in the summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri appreciate the qualities of the 27-year-old Mexican winger, who is contracted to the Portuguese club until 2022. The player is valued at around €50 million which is his release clause, a high price but the Milanese club are preparing to overhaul the squads wingss

Inter are set to not permanently sign either Italian wing back Cristiano Biraghi or Chelsea owned winger Victor Moses, the report continues. Ghanaian wing back Kwadwo Asamoah is also likely to be sold to Turkish side Fenerbahçe, showing how Inter are prepared to overhaul the department. Antonio Candreva will stay, but is likely to take a minor role next season.

Corona’s name has joined a long list of players followed by Inter for that department, the report highlights. Other names include Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso, Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo, Barcelona right back Nélson Semedo and soon to be free agent Layvin Kurzawa.

Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini: “We’ll Try To Negotiate With Inter For Nainggolan”

Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini discussed the ongoing Coronavirus emergency and the upcoming summer transfer window in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

First, he spoke about the chances of Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan remaining at the club after his loan expires at the end of this season.

“If he wants to stay, we’ll try to negotiate with Inter, but it’s a tough one. Objectively speaking, in the world of post coronavirus football, Cagliari can’t even afford half of his salary.”

The Rossoblu president discussed the resumption of training and restart of the league.

“I don’t make predictions and it would be good for everyone to avoid proclamations and imagine dates. There has been too much talk at a time when it would have been more respectful and responsible to keep quiet and wait given the situation and the dead. Simply put, when the health conditions to resume are there we will do so.

“Today these conditions aren’t there. Rather, we will have to think about the future of football, which frankly worries me much more. The world will have for some time a post-war economy in which all the dynamics will change, even in football.

“I am talking about sponsors for whom I hope there will be strong tax breaks from the government, otherwise we will lose them. It will change the way we live.”

Giulini highlighted the financial difficulties that clubs are set to go through due to this emergency.

“First, we’ll behind closed doors and then, when they reopen, season tickets prices will need to be reviewed. We’ve got the TV rights game to get to. Overall revenues will be lower and we will have to start talking about this in order to find solutions not only at Italian but also at European level.

“We would finally need a salary cap mechanism for the main European leagues to avoid that the gap between large and small clubs which could increase again and to defend ourselves from the abstruse temptation of those who propose super leagues and a closed off Champions League, which at this time would decree the end of national competitions, which instead will be supported after the virus.”

He touched on the suggestions from some people that Serie A could change to a South American style calendar for the season.

“If there will be a chance to resume, clear and pre-established rules will be needed. If we resume and there will be further contagion, what will be done? Will that be the final standings?

“Personally, I think that if you can’t start again by mid-June and finish by the end of July it makes little sense to resume. There are habits in Italian football that don’t need to be drastically changed and you can’t even spend months and months waiting to start again.

“You have to put a limit and have the courage to call it off. We also have to understand what the fans want, without them football doesn’t exist and I don’t think people would want a league like the South American one.”

Giulini spoke about how there is a chance that VAR might not be used in the restart of the season.

“It would be nice if the project of the legendary VAR room in Coverciano planned for next year would be ready for this season also. If we have a month to train, it could also be enough to organize that in total safety for those who will work on it.”

He wasn’t impressed by the words of Italian sporting minister Vincenzo Spadafora.

“Some of his outbursts have not pleased me and personally I don’t find myself there at all. Football is the third largest industry in the country and all of us entrepreneurs and presidents deserve respect. Then the minister may have his own ideas about one or the other, but the football system of Serie A carries Italian sport.

“Spadafora will have a decisive role together with the government to dictate the rules not only for this season, avoiding possible legal queues, but for the next one, and let’s go back to the sponsors, the stadiums, the revision of the Melandri law.”

Finally, Giulini highlighted the importance of working together in this difficult time.

“This crisis that we are experiencing is affecting a subject, Italian football, in many components already sick, since the world is systematically at a loss in all categories. The formula of the leagues must also be reviewed. In short, let’s not get lost in controversy but let’s study the future together.”

Italian Report Suggests Inter’s Interest In Lionel Messi A Direct Response To Barcelona’s Interest In Lautaro Martinez

Inter’s response to Barcelona’s interest in Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez is to look for star forward Lionel Messi, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how Inter’s interest in the six-time Ballon d’Or winner may simply be a strategy to push Barcelona off the tail of the 22-year-old Lautaro, who has been one of the stars of the squad this season under coach Antonio Conte. However, it is not to be excluded that the Suning group have a genuine desire to make Inter a super team and would fund the venture.

Lautaro’s €111 million release clause is too high for the Catalan club, the report continues. The Blaugrana are trying to offer various players to the Nerazzurri in order to negotiate a lower cash fee, although the Nerazzurri would rather not consider any deal for the time being, considering the ongoing Coronavirus emergency.

In addition to Dries Mertens and Olivier Giroud, a new forward is being considered by the Nerazzurri, the report adds. That player is 27-year-old German forward Mario Gotze, whose contract expires with Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

Inter Intend To Sign Stefano Sensi Permanently But Could Renegotiate Terms With Sassuolo

Inter intend to activate the buy option on Sassuolo owned midfielder Stefano Sensi, despite reports that the club are having doubts, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri executives know that the best Inter squad under coach Antonio Conte featured the 24-year-old Italian midfielder, who has suffered a series of injuries this season.

The Milanese club will have to pay €20 million for Sensi’s signature, although there is a chance that Inter could negotiate for a lower price or deferred payments, considering the ongoing Coronavirus emergency.

When the season restarts Sensi will be fit and ready to rejoin the squad, the report continues. The player is expected to continue his strong performances under Conte and earn his spot at Euro 2021 with Italy.

A return for Sensi also suggests that Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino will be sold in the summer, considering that Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen fills a similar role.

Ex-Nerazzurri Winger Keita Balde: “I Supported Inter As A Child”

Monaco winger Keita Balde, who spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Inter, spoke about the ongoing Coronavirus emergency and his career in Italy in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Here the impact of the coronavirus is relative, but my father and my brothers are in Barcelona, and there the situation is bad, and my mother in Dakar, is very worried. If the Covid-19 arrives strong in Africa it will be a catastrophe. They say that the heat can be a deterrent against the virus, I hope they are right.”

He appreciated that this period gives him more time to think.

“Yes, and I think planet earth has taken a break. That on a humanitarian level, we went a little overboard. Maybe this situation makes us think from the heart, and we need it to get our heads together and appreciate the really important things.”

Balde agreed that football was one of those important things.

“Yes. Even in our environment it has been exaggerated. Too much money, crazy expenses, especially considering how much you paid even just a few years ago for very strong players. Football also needs to be regulated.”

He spoke about his future.

“Hard to predict. Right now, I hear so many things, and they change every day. It seems to me there’s great confusion. Of course, we’ve been standing still for a month and football seems so far away.”

The 25-year-old Senegalese winger discussed his time in Italy with Lazio and Inter.

“I think well of both of them, especially Lazio. They seemed very strong to me, too bad it all stopped. It’s a club I’ve been with for so many years, it’s in my heart. Inter were the team I supported as a kid. I had a shorter but very intense period, I scored the goal that led to the Champions League.

“Now I’m at the start of a long journey. You can’t think that with Conte’s arrival everything will settle down immediately. It takes time, but the road is the right one.”

Finally, he revealed that he doesn’t have nostalgia for Italy.

“No, I’m fine here. Good city on a human scale, good club, respected team, former Barca coach. I have two more years on my contract and I don’t think about the future. I said it before, it’s even more true now.”

Balde has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1266 minutes. In that time, he has scored eight goals and provided four assists.

During the 2018/19 season for Inter, the 25-year-old made 29 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 1045 minutes. In that time, he scored five goals and provided two assists, struggling to maintain consistency.

Nerazzurri Vice-President Javier Zanetti: “I’d Sign Peak Lionel Messi Over Peak Diego Maradona For Inter”

Inter vice president Javier Zanetti discussed the ongoing Coronavirus situation, the current squad and the question of when to finish the season in an interview with Mexican broadcaster Tudn earlier today.

“For the moment, nobody is thinking about when it will start again, the important thing is health. You have to be very careful because this virus is a very delicate thing. We hope the situation can improve, but it will take time. It’s very difficult to make a decision about football today, we are careful about what will be decided, but always keeping people’s health in mind.”

He spoke about which photo perfectly represents his love for Inter and football.

“I have many photos in my restaurant that testify to important moments, also spent with my family. But the most representative one is the one of the night at the Bernabeu, it was the most beautiful moment that I also lived with my family, the night we won the Champions League. My family was with me at an important moment in my career, with all the people of Inter. And I will always keep the photo of that trophy in my heart.”

The former Nerazzurri defender spoke about how his love for the club is unending.

“Yes, it is an endless love story because Inter believed in me when I was still a stranger, not knowing me very well. I’ve spent my entire career defending this shirt, and now I’m doing it as vice president. Although from behind a desk I always try to convey what are the values of this great club that has a great history at a very important international level.”

Zanetti touched on the serious injury Brazilian striker Ronaldo suffered during his time with the Nerazzurri.

“It was a very difficult and sad moment. We were in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia against Lazio. I remember how emotional it was with him because the main character in the match was seriously injured. Seeing Ronaldo on the ground with all that pain made the world sad. It was hard for him because it was a serious injury and it was very difficult to accept such an injury not only for him but for the whole world.”

He spoke about why Juventus have been dominating Italian football in recent years.

“Because they’re a team that have the most continuity over the years. We’re at the start of an ambitious project, with Conte and the players doing very well. We’re in a very positive moment, the league is very competitive and Inter have what it takes to stay competitive. It’s essential to have team continuity and a specific identity and Inter proves it in every game that they can be a hero, it’s a team that always tries to win every game. Then sometimes you’re okay with it, sometimes you’re not, but that’s football.”

Finally, Zanetti spoke about whether he would bring Lionel Messi or former Napoli star Diego Maradona to Inter, assuming Maradona was at the peak of his career.

“I think I would bring Messi today because I spent a lot of time with him, and I think what he is doing is formidable. He’s a player who makes a difference at any moment and I’d bring him to my team.”

Zanetti spent 19 years of his career with the Nerazzurri, quickly becoming a fan favourite. The former Argentina defender made 860 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring 21 goals and providing 16 assists in that time.

Inter Owned Federico Dimarco: “The Wing-Back Position Suits Me Perfectly”

Inter owned defender Federico Dimarco, who is currently on loan at Hellas Verona, spoke to the Gialloblu fans on Instagram, answering many questions. His words were noted by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

First, he discussed how the Coronavirus emergency put a stop to his Verona career only one month into his loan spell.

“No one would have ever thought of such a thing. Disappointed, because a month is very little. Hopefully we’ll start again as soon as possible, to show off and prove how much I’m worth.”

Dimarco then touched on which new teammate has impressed him the most.

“I never expected to play with Pazzini, who I saw at Inter as a kid. He scored a lot in Serie A, he always did well.”

The 22-year-old spoke about Gialloblu coach Ivan Juric.

“He’s a person who off the pitch can be quiet. But on the field, you always have to stay on the mark, as soon as you let go, he pulls you up. You can’t give up an inch with him.”

He spoke about his debut against Juventus.

“I couldn’t have hoped for a better debut. It was an emotional game, to overturn the disadvantage was something few teams do. I did someone else a favor too!”

Dimarco touched on what he expects from the squad when the season restarts.

“Hopefully we’ll be back in the game soon. Hopefully we’ll pick up where we left off, excluding the defeat in Genoa, which is difficult to assess as it was played behind closed doors. Having our audience is like playing with an extra man.”

The 22-year-old revealed what his reaction was when he heard about Verona’s interest in January.

“The interest was very early on, early January, maybe even earlier. I thought it was a nice squad to play in, and that the coach could give me that extra something. I had other offers, but I didn’t even consider them. It also affected the excellent season the team was having.”

He spoke about what training he’s been doing at home.

“I took some tools, like the treadmill and other things to do exercises. I work out every day, the days go by faster this way. The athletic trainer sends us the exercises to do, and we do them as if we were on the pitch.”

Dimarco discussed his attacking nature and where that came from.

“In the youth system of Inter I always played as a winger or midfielder. I’ve always liked going for the shot, scoring goals. I don’t think it’s an improving feature, it’s innate, I don’t do it on purpose. The role of wing back is perfect for me.”

Finally, he revealed what it was like to leave Milan, his home city.

“I left it when I was seventeen, when I went to play Ascoli. I was already used to it. Anyway, I moved to a nice city, not far from Milan, so I don’t suffer much detachment.”

Italian Minister Of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora: “Training Sessions To Start May 4th Earliest”

Italian Minister for Sport and Youth Policy Vincenzo Spadafora discussed a possible return to training for Serie A squads in a letter sent to the presidents of the Olympic and Paralympic Committees, Giovanni Malagò and Luca Pancalli. His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“In the deep conviction that our athletes, able-bodied and disabled, will soon return to win and honour the flag, inside and outside competition fields, I beg you to activate the Federations and the other subjects of the sports system so that the resumption of training and activities will take place, presumably from May 4th, in the strictest respect of the safety precautions that will be identified in agreement with health authorities and scientific bodies.”

Serie A, like leagues across Europe, has been postponed until further notice due to the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, that has killed over 100 thousand people worldwide. Italy has been in a state of lockdown for over a month in an effort to combat the virus, which struck the peninsula more viciously than elsewhere around Europe.

Some Serie A club presidents, like Lazio head Claudio Lotito, have been pushing for a return to training as soon as possible, in order to guarantee the squad’s competitiveness for when the season eventually restarts. Clubs can now work on the basis that training can be resumed from the 4th May.
