Former Inter Player Paul Ince: “This Is A Make Or Break Summer For Alexis Sanchez”

In a column for bookmakers Paddy Power, former Inter and Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince has spoke on how important this coming Summer is for Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean national team attacker joined Inter on loan from Manchester United this past Summer but has failed to live up to expectations and the player is currently facing an uncertain future.

“This is a make or break summer for Alexis Sanchez. He’s had two moves in a row that have really not gone well. He’s had two seasons of just not playing. Your career goes by so fast, you can’t waste it like that,” he began the column.

Ince then went on to suggest that West Ham United could be a good next destination for Sanchez, who he believes still has something to offer despite his recent poor form.

“If someone can get him in and play him in the right position, you’ve still got a great player in there. If that’s West Ham, who can build their team around him, then it’s a great piece of business.

“Wherever he goes, he has to be playing week-in, week-out. Not just to justify his wage, but for his own career and I am certain that he is desperate to play. I’ve watched him a lot, and it was never for a lack of trying that things didn’t work.”

Ince proceeded to discuss Sanchez’s clear desire to play football and his personality.

“Some players are happy to count their money, but that’s not Sanchez. He plays with determination and passion, he clearly loves playing football.

“I know there’s talk about him being a bit of a loner, but that’s fine. Some people are like that. It’s about what happens on the pitch, and you can see he’s always trying the right things when he plays.”

In conclusion Ince refused to rule out the possibility that Sanchez could well turn his career around with Manchester United based on his experience as a manager.

“I wouldn’t rule out Sanchez going back to United and being a key part of their team next season. Football is a funny old game.

“I’ve been in the situation as a manager where I’ve thought ‘right, I’m going to get rid of him and him’ but when it comes to it you can’t get the deal done, so they stay at the club.

“Then pre-season comes around and they’re a totally different player to the season before, and they’re your key man the next season.

“So Sanchez could definitely go back to United, look fantastic in training, and bang suddenly he’s important to their plans after all.”

This season the 31-year-old has been on the pitch for just 596 minutes which have been spread across 15 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored one goals and tallied three assists.

Barcelona Willing To Offer Inter Striker Annual Salary Of €10m

Barcelona are prepared to offer Inter’s Lautaro Martinez a contract worth a sum of €10 million a year according to a report from Goal.com.

The Blaugrana have identified the highly rated 22-year-old striker as one of their top transfer targets ahead of the Summer transfer window and they are willing to offer him a significant salary to entice him away from Milan.

Lautaro is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season and has a €111 million release clause in his contract with the Nerazzurri.

Recent reports elsewhere in the media have however suggested that Barcelona have no intention of activating his release clause and are instead looking to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him.

This season Lautaro, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 in a circa €20 million deal, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date in which the Argentine national team forward has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.

Barcelona & Inter Haven’t Had Any Contact Regarding Possible Lionel Messi Transfer

There has been no contact between Barcelona and Inter over Lionel Messi according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

There have been plenty of rumours in the Argentine, Spanish and Italian media regarding Messi possibly moving to Inter but FCInterNews.it insist there has been zero contact between the clubs.

Messi has been linked with Inter in the past and the most recent links have come about due to a deterioration in relations between him and the Barcelona leadership.

Despite the breakdown in relations, the report goes on to state Messi would like to extend his contract with the Blaugrana until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Messi currently earns €40 million net a season, a sum well out of reach for Inter meaning for the time being anyway Messi to Inter is nothing but fantasy thinking.

Fiorentina President Commisso On Inter Linked Chiesa: “He’ll Stay At Fiorentina”

Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso has repeated that Federico Chiesa will not leave the club amid continued links with moves elsewhere.

Chiesa, who is widely regarded as one of the most promising Italian prospects out there, has long drawn links to both Inter and Juventus whilst a number of Premier League clubs also seemingly have shown an interest in him.

Ever since Commisso bought Fiorentina he has been absolutely clear that he wishes to keep Chiesa and Fiorentina’s other top players at the club rather than sell them and he has so far managed to do just that.

Asked during an interview with Italian radio station Radio Rai Uno earlier on today whether Chiesa will depart the club in the coming months Commisso responded: “No, no, he will stay at Fiorentina.”

This season Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists for his teammates.
