Real Madrid Keeping An Eye On Inter Owned Icardi’s Situation At PSG

Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Mauro Icardi’s situation according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Reports in the media in recent weeks have suggested that Real Madrid are on the lookout for a new striker and they have been linked with Inter’s Lautaro Martinez too.

27-year-old Icardi is currently out on loan at Paris Saint Germain from Inter and the reigning French champions have an option to land him on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

Some reports have stated PSG are certain to take up the option but others have suggested that they are unsure and therefore Real Madrid, as well as Inter’s arch-rivals Juventus, are keeping a close eye on things.

Whilst in the French capital, Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In close to 2000 minutes on the field, Icardi has scored 20 goals and has provided four assists.

Roma Could Join Inter & Napoli In Trying To Sign Tottenham’s Vertonghen But Only If Smalling Departs

Roma could join the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen if Chris Smalling does not remain with the club according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Smalling is currently on loan at the Giallorossi club from Premier League side Manchester United and has had a very good season.

If the Englishman does not remain in the Italian capital, Rome could well look to pursue a move for Belgian national team centre back Vertonghen, whose contract with Spurs is due to expire at the end of this season.

Should Roma join the race to sign him, they will become the third Serie A club to be in for the 32-year-old former Ajax man who both Inter and Napoli also both have an interest in signing.

This season Vertonghen has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In 2151 minutes on the field, he has scored two goals and has provided a single assist.

Brescia Midfielder Romulo: “I Was In Talks With Inter Back In January”

Brescia central midfielder Romulo has confessed that he came close to joining Inter during the recent January transfer window.

During the January transfer window Inter drew no shortage of links to midfielders as they looked to bolster that department, something they would eventually do by adding Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen in a circa €20 million deal in the final few days of the window.

“In the January transfer window I was in talks with Inter,” he revealed in an interview with journalist Nicolo Schira which was broadcast live on Schira’s Instagram profile.

“The Nerazzurri were looking for a midfielder and both Conte and Marotta knew me from when they wanted me at Juventus. My agent is still in contact with Beneamata and my contract will expire in June.”

The 32-year-old, former Juventus midfielder, then went on to reveal that he would like to work under Inter manager Antonio Conte in the future.

“I would love to work with Conte, my biggest regret is that I never had him as a manager, he really manages to get you to give something more. Who knows if I will be able to be managed by him in the future.”

Romulo is currently on loan at Brescia from fellow Serie A side Genoa and this season he has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided three assists for his teammates in just over 1700 minutes on the field.

Italian Report Insists Inter Want Big Sums Of Cash For Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez

Inter are not interested in receiving three players plus cash for Lautaro Martinez from Barcelona in the upcoming transfer window according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it.

The reigning La Liga champions reportedly see the 22-year-old as their top target and they would like to acquire him by offering three players plus cash but Inter are not keen on this idea.

Inter want his €111 million release clause paid in full or failing that at least between €85-90 million for him given they are already committed to spending around €100 million this Summer.

Inter have gentlemen’s agreements with Genoa and Standard Liege to re-sign both Andrea Pinamonti and Zinho Vanheusden.

Inter are also intending on paying the €25 million option to buy that they have for on loan midfielder Stefano Sensi and they also have a €25 million instalment to pay Cagliari for Nicolo Barella.

Moreover, if they were to acquire three players from Barcelona as part of a deal for Lautaro, the wage bill would rise significantly. The report does state that it cannot be excluded that one player may be included in any deal though.

Inter Will Look To Offload Perisic If Bayern Munich Don’t Sign Him Permanently

If Bayern Munich do not buy Ivan Perisic on a permanent basis, Inter will look to offload him elsewhere according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The 31-year-old winger joined the Bundesliga outfit on a season long loan deal this past Summer and as part of the deal Bayern Munich can sign him on a permanent basis for a sum of €20 million.

It is currently unclear as to whether the reigning German champions will take up the option to sign the Croatian national team player but if they do not sign him, the report states that Inter have zero plans to reintegrate him.

Perisic, alongside Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan, was deemed to be out of Inter’s project by club management this past Summer and as per the report, if Bayern Munich do not sign him, Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio will try and sell him elsewhere, possibly to a club in the Premier League.

Italian Report Claims Next Transfer Window Could Be Over 3 Months Long

The next transfer window could be over three months long and the winter transfer window could be scrapped for the coming season according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Due to the fact the current seasons will not finish when they should have due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, European football’s governing body UEFA, the European club association and European leagues are discussing how the transfer market could be changed.

As per the report from the Rome based news outlet, rather than the Summer transfer window starting when it usually does, it could be moved in line with the start of the next season, whenever that may be.

The report goes on to add that the next transfer window could in fact be three and a half months long and as a result of this there would be no January transfer window for clubs to do business in.

Former Inter Defender Ezequiel Schelotto: “Upon Joining Inter It Took Me Three Days To Realise Where I Was”

In an interview with Italian broadcaster TyC Sports today, former Inter player Ezequiel Schelotto has spoken on what it felt like for him to join Inter.

The 30-year-old full back, who is currently on the books of Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion joined Inter in the January transfer window of the 2012/13 season from Atalanta.

He spent two seasons with Inter before leaving to join Portuguese giants Sporting. During his time with Inter he made just 13 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored one goal, which came in the Milan derby.

“It is something inexplicable. From the outside you think it is great and once you’re inside you realise just how immense it is.

“I was playing alongside players who had been part of Inter’s treble winning side and players with almost one hundred games with their national teams but they all had such great humility.

“When I arrived I was silent, speechless. It took me three days to understand where I was. In the dressing room I had Zanetti on the right and Stankovic on the left, it was incredible.”

He then went on to speak about the goal he scored in the derby against the Rossoneri just weeks after arriving at the club.

“It is unforgettable. People still thank me today and the Milan fans continue to hate me. There was more than 85,000 thousand people at the stadium and my family were there to see me play for the first time.

“We were losing 1-0 and the manager asked me to play on the right wing. I went on the pitch and I do not know why but I went into the box and the ball was coming toward my head and I just had to put it into the goal.

“At that moment so much flashed before my eyes from my family to the sacrifices that I had made. At the end of the game president Moratti came up and told me that, with that goal, I entered myself into the club’s history.”

Schelotto, who was born in Argentine but has represented the Italian national team, then went on to reveal how former Inter manager Jose Mourinho has treated him when they have met, despite the fact they were not at Inter at the same time.

“He is a great manager. Three years ago in an FA Cup game we played against his Manchester United. I twas very cold and it was snowing. We were losing 1-0 and the ball was put out of play as one of their players was injured.

“He approached me and started to talk to me about Sporting and asked me what Brighton was like and about the weather. Every time that we meet, we often talk. Mourinho is spectacular.”

Inter Vice President Zanetti Could Play Crucial Role In Any Attempt Inter Make To Sign Lionel Messi

Inter vice president Javier Zanetti will get in contact with Barcelone superstar Lionel Messi regarding a possible move to Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Libero.

Former Inter president Massimo Moratti has once again shared his desire of seeing Messi represent Inter recently whilst reports in the media in recent months have linked the Nerazzurri with a move for the multi-time world player of the year.

As per the report from Libero, Zanetti could well be key in Inter’s efforts to land Messi from the Blaugrana and the report also highlights the fact that Zanetti played an important role when it came to the club signing Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club.

32-year-old Messi has little over a year left on his current contract with Barcelona, who he has spent his entire career with.

This season he has made 31 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored 24 goals and provided 16 assists for his teammates.

Inter Players Currently Away From Milan Will Return By Monday

All seven Inter players currently back home with their families will be back in Milan by this coming Monday at the latest according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter granted permission to Marcelo Brozovic, Samir Handanovic, Ashley Young, Christian Eriksen, Diego Godin, Victor Moses and Romelu Lukaku to return home and be with their families during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The club have now called the players and told them to make their way back to Milan in the coming days. Once in Milan, all seven players will have to enter into an obligatory two week self isolation period.

Despite the fact there is no date for the season to resume, there is talk of clubs possibly being allowed to resume training in May and given the two week self isolation period the players must go through, Inter clearly do not want to take any chances of having to do without them for when training resumes, if it does.
