Fiorentina President Commisso: “Renzi Says Chiesa’s Going To Inter? I’ll Handle Football & He Should Stick To Politics”

Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso has hit out at former Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi over claims he has made about Federico Chiesa’s future.

In a recent interview, Renzi, who served as Italy’s prime minister between 2014 and 2016, claimed that as per his sources, Chiesa would be heading to Inter.

“Renzi says Chiesa is going to Inter? If I don’t know this, then how does he know? He is a great fan and friend but I’ll handle the football, he should think about politics,” Commisso said in an interview with Italian radio station Radio 24 show Tutto Convocati this afternoon.

Chiesa has been strongly linked with a move to Inter for a number of seasons now and Inter’s arch rivals Juventus have also been linked with him for a long time too.

The winger is widely regarded as one of the top Italian prospects out there at the moment and has a contract with La Viola until the end of the 2021/22 season but it is no secret that Fiorentina have held talks over a contract extension.

This season Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

Former Inter Striker Gabigol: “I Had Offers From European Clubs Before Joining Flamengo Permanently”

Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has admitted that he had offers from clubs in Europe prior to completing a permanent switch to Flamengo from Inter in the January transfer window.

Flamengo signed Gabigol for €16.5 million from Inter after his highly successful loan spell at the club in 2019 in which he scored 43 goals in 58 appearances across all competitions and played a pivotal role in them winning the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Copa Libertadores and reaching the final of the Club World Cup.

“I never had many chances to play in Europe. When I received offers from different teams in Europe, I preferred to stay at Flamengo because that was what I wanted,” the 23-year-old striker remarked in an interview with Brazilian broadcaster ESPN.

“It took a while because of Inter, but I always wanted to stay at Flamengo and I hope to stay here for a long time and to win many titles.”

The former Santos player was then asked which clubs made offers for him but remained very tight lipped when he responded to the question with him saying: “I won’t mention any names, but there were several European teams.”

Reports at the time had suggested that Chelsea in particular were keen on him whilst several other Premier League clubs were linked as were some other clubs who play in Europe’s top five leagues.

Inter Linked Juan Musso: “I’m Happy With The Interest But For Now I Know Nothing”

Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso has admitted the reported interest in his services had made him happy but he knows nothing more than that.

The highly rated Argentine shot-stopper has drawn plenty of links to Inter as of late with it understood that the Nerazzurri are looking to bring him in to initially serve as back-up to current number one Samir Handanovic before taking over from him in the future.

The 25-year-old has been with his current employers for almost two seasons now and he has been one of the best goalkeepers in the league in that time.

Reports in the media have suggested that Udinese could demand around €25-30 million for him but some reports have also suggested Inter could try and bring that price down by including a player or players in any deal.

“I have read several things but I don’t know anything about it,” Musso, who is under contract with Udinese until 2023, remarked in an interview with Argentine news outlet Racingmaniacos.com.

“I am happy with the interest, but for now I know nothing. If something interesting comes, both me and the club will think about it.”

Former Italian Prime Minister Renzi: “According To My Sources, Chiesa Will Go To Inter”

Former Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi has claimed that he has been told that Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa will move to Inter.

Chiesa has long been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri, as well as their arch rivals Juventus and Renzi claims to know that Chiesa is soon going to be an Inter player.

Renzi’s comments come just hours on from Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso claiming that La Viola do not have to sell either Chiesa or Gaetano Castrovilli, who has also been linked to Inter.

“I know where he is going. According to my sources, he will go to Inter. He will play there,” Renzi, who served as Italy’s prime minister between 2014 and 2016, told journalist Enrico Mentana in a live interview which was broadcast on Mentana’s Instagram.

This season Chiesa, who is under contract with Fiorentina until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2100 minutes on the field, the 22-year-old winger has scored seven goals and tallied five assists.

Serie A Clubs May Have To Reach Agreements With Their Players Over Wage Cuts

Should Lega Serie A and the Italian players association (AIC) be unable to come to an agreement, clubs will need to find agreements with their players regarding wage cuts according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lega Serie A and the AIC met last week to hold talks but were unable to come to an agreement with their proposals nowhere close to matching.

All Serie A clubs – with the exception of Juventus who reached a separate agreement with their players – came to an agreement over guidelines for wage cut guidelines yesterday with wages to be cut by up to 1/3 if the season does not resume or by up to 1/6 if the season does resume.

Juventus’ agreement with their players means they will not receive salaries for the months of March, April, May and June and it remains to be seen what others clubs would come up with if forced to have to reach their own agreements.

Sassuolo Manager De Zerbi: “Sensi Did Great Things For Inter When He Was Well”

Sassuolo manager Roberto De Zerbi has praised Stefano Sensi for what he did with Inter prior to his injury troubles.

Sensi joined Inter on a season long loan with an option to buy this past Summer from the Neroverdi club and got life at the Nerazzurri off to a fantastic start but a series of muscle injuries have meant the highly rated Italian, who has drawn links to Barcelona in the past, has struggled for regular playing time for most of the season.

“I’m biased, he’s a godson. At Inter he has had injury problems but he did great things when he was well,” De Zerbi remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportItalia last night.

De Zerbi, who has been at the helm of Sassuolo since 2018, also spoke on Manuel Locatelli, a player who has drawn links to Inter as of late.

This season the 22-year-old has made 21 appearances across all competitions to date. In 1656 minutes on the park, he has not scored any goals but he has provided three assists for his teammates.

“Locatelli is such a pure talent that could explode anywhere, the club were good to pick him up. At Sassuolo this policy can be done, elsewhere I don’t know.”

Italian Report Claims Former Inter President Moratti May Have Mentioned Messi In The Media Due To Knowing Something

In today’s print edition, Tuttosport have speculated that former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti may well know something others do not and that is why he has spoken about Lionel Messi recently.

In the past few days Moratti has shared his dream of seeing Messi suiting up for Inter and the report suggests that Moratti may know something due to his relationship with current Inter president Steven Zhang.

Inter may make the move and whether successful or not, Tuttosport insist it would certainly go on to show just how ambitious Inter club owners Suning really are.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state that it is difficult to foresee Inter using Lautaro Martinez as part of any deal given the highly rated 22-year-old striker wants to play alongside his compatriot and thus is unlikely to agree to moving as part of a deal for him.
