Inter Could Sign Kumbulla & Loan Him Back To Hellas Verona

Inter could sign Marash Kumbulla from Hellas Verona and leave him with the Gialloblu club for a further season so he can continue his development there according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter have been heavily linked with signing the highly rated young centre back in the upcoming Summer transfer window and as per reports he could cost somewhere in the region of €25-30 million.

It has however been reported elsewhere that Inter will look to reduce the cost of the deal by inserting Eddie Salcedo and Federico Dimarco into the deal, both of whom are already on loan at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi club.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state that if Inter are to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen on a free transfer then they may opt to loan Kumbulla back to Hellas Verona.

This season Kumbulla has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.

Inter Linked Thomas Meunier Downplays Links To Other Clubs: “My Main Goal Is To Stay With PSG”

Paris Saint Germain defender Thomas Meunier has reiterated his desire to remain with the club despite being linked to several other clubs in recent weeks and months.

The Belgian national team full back’s contract in the French capital is due to expire at the end of the season but he has made it clear where he sees his future.

Former Paris Saint Germain player Jerome Rothen claimed that Meunier was headed for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund but Meunier has blasted this speculation and also admitted he is unsure why he has been linked to both Tottenham Hotspur and Inter.

“Everything that is circulating about on me on social media regarding Dortmund, I don’t understand. I’ve seen so many articles linking me to Tottenham and Inter too,” he remarked in an interview with Belgian radio channel and television broadcaster RTBF.

“I don’t understand this craze. My main goal is always to stay in Paris, but for the moment it’s pretty calm.”

This season 28-year-old Meunier has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2100 minutes on the field for the Parc des Princes club, he has scored one goal and has also provided two assists for his teammates.

Inter Might Miss Out On Chelsea’s Willian Due To The Poor Relations Between Him & Antonio Conte

The poor relationship Willian had with Antonio Conte at Chelsea could possibly cause Inter to miss out on him according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Brazilian winger’s contract with the Premier League club is due to expire at the end of this season and a number of clubs, including Inter and arch rivals Juventus, have shown an interest in signing him on a free transfer in the Summer.

The report from the Turin based newspaper suggests that Juventus could have a better chance of signing the former Shakhtar Donetsk player due to the fact Willian really likes Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri having worked with him at Chelsea.

It is a different story when it comes to Willian and Inter manager Antonio Conte though as the pair never enjoyed an idyllic relationship during their time together at Stamford Bridge.

This season Willian has made 37 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored seven goals and provided six assists for his teammates.

FIGC President Gravina: “I Don’t Want To Compromise Another Season To Save This One”

Gabriele Gravina, the president of the Italian football federation (FIGC), has revealed that the idea is to resume the 2019/20 Serie A season at the end of May if not the beginning of June.

Serie A has been on hold for a number of weeks now as a direct result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and it remains unknown whether circumstances will allow for the season to resume again or if it will just have to be cancelled.

“Until April 18 there should be lock down and there is the idea of starting up again on May 20 or the first week in June. These are only ideas but we want to give a message of hope to all citizens even if we know that football is in second place to the virus at the moment,” he told Italian radio station TMW Radio earlier on today.

Gravina then went on to stress that he does not want to finish this current season at the expense of affecting seasons to come.

“Can we start again after these dates? There are two factors in this. The first is government ordinances and the second is that UEFA and FIFA allow us to go beyond June 30.

“There is talk of being able to play into August or September but I have made it clear that I would be sorry to take the risk of compromising another season in order to save this one.

“We are attentive and respectful of what is going on and today nobody can make any predictions but we have a duty to plan.”

He then went on to insist that there are no deadlines in place as far as start and finish dates are concerned but the priority for FIGC remains getting the season finished somehow.

“There is no definitive date, neither for the start nor for the finish. The top priority is to finish the season and today the decision has been taken, to move the window for the national teams matches, which frees up June 1-9.

“We have additional time to complete the national events. Starting at the end of May and playing until the middle or end of July would be what I would like so that I would have plenty time to plan next season.”

In conclusion he discussed the possibility of carrying out the remainder of the season at neutral venues.

“It is not a good solution, but it is an idea and it is one which we are working on. We are trying to identify four or five venues, just like UEFA is trying to define different formats not so much for this season, but for those that will follow.”

UEFA Have 2 Possible Solutions For How Season Could Be Finished

European football’s governing body UEFA have come up with two possible solutions which would allow the season to conclude according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

Football in almost every nation across the continent has been on hold for a number of weeks due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and this has caused great disruption to the season which UEFA are keen to conclude one way or another with as little disruption to next season as possible.

The first solution is to resume play in domestic competitions in early June and have them wrapped up by the end of July. Champions League and Europa League games would be played during this time to get them finished as well.

The second solution is to finish all domestic competition games first and then play the remainder of the Champions League and Europa League which would then finish at the end of August.

Inter Defender Biraghi: “As A Fan, I Always Try To Give That Little Bit Extra For Inter”

Inter defender Cristiano Biraghi was the latest Inter player to be subjected to a live question and answer session from fans which was broadcast across Inter’s social media channels and he started by discussing the current situation the world is in because of Coronavirus.

“This is a difficult time for everyone, my family and I are fine but my thoughts go out to those families who have been affected by this virus, as well as to all the people who are working to contain it and take care of others.

“During this period, it’s important for me to rediscover more normal things like a longer phone call to a friend, spending more time with my wife and children, cooking, and above all taking time to reflect.”

He then went on to speak about what he has done to occupy himself during the ongoing lock down period in Italy.

“Having two girls, my day starts very early. Inter gave us some instructions for training at home and I train twice a day, which allows me to let off some steam. I do a strength session in the morning and a bike or treadmill session in the afternoon.

“The change in my appearance? I’ve adopted a DIY approach with my hair and beard, once everything is over, I’ll definitely go to the barber first thing!”

Biraghi then went on to discuss his love for Inter and how much it meant to him to be able to return to the club this past Summer.

“My Inter debut dates back to 2011, in the match against Twente at San Siro, I was young and for me it was like a fairy tale. However, I perhaps felt more emotion in my second debut, when I came back to the side, and the greatest joy I’ve had since returning was wearing this shirt and my goal in the Europa League.

“Every time I wear these colours, whether it’s match kit or training gear, it’s incredible. Whenever I go to the Appiano Gentile Training Centre, I remember when I wanted to be there as a kid and when I went out there to try and get some photos or autographs from the players. It’s a hard feeling to describe.

“I’ve always given everything for the teams I’ve played for, but with this team, being a fan, I always try to give that little bit extra. I’ve always supported Inter, my Dad put the Nerazzurri shirt on me when I was born and so it’s great that it’s ended up like this.”

Next the Italian, who is on loan at Inter from Fiorentina, spoke about his teammates, his Inter idol growing up and his dreams.

“Our group is very healthy, genuine and together, with a lot of that down to the players who have been at Inter for a while such as Handanovic, Ranocchia and D’Ambrosio, who remind us every day of what it means to wear this shirt.

“I get along well with everyone in the team, I live close to Bastoni and Barella and we often share lifts, I also play for the National Team with Barella and our girls go to the same school, so I have a great friendship with him.

“As an Inter fan, the player who made me the most excited was Ronaldo ‘El Fenomeno’.

“My dream? To win a trophy in this shirt, it’s a dream I’ve always had. I remember that whenever Inter won I would always go out to celebrate, so winning as a player would be a great feeling.”

Biraghi then went on to discuss his transition from winger to full back.

“I started playing as a winger, then when I was 13 or 14 in Inter’s Youth Sector I was pulled back a bit and I’ve played that role ever since.

“I’ve always had a predisposition to play on the wing, first forward and then further back. I’d say that Marcelo is among the best players, because he’s maintained such a high level for so many years.

“As far as Inter’s history is concerned, I’ve experienced first-hand Chivu’s time here: he was a great player and a great man, and I’ve always admired him. There have been so many great full-backs, but I can’t help but mention Facchetti.”

Biraghi then went on to open up on how he was affected by the death of Davide Astori.

“It was a difficult time for me, for my teammates and more than anything for his family. It made me think a lot and change things in my life.

“It’s also an extra push when I’m on the pitch, fighting for him too, because he was my captain and he always fought for others. I often think of him with my wife and I speak to his family every now and then, they’re exceptional people.”

Next Biraghi revealed why he chose the number 34 and Inter’s fans.

“It was the first number they gave me when I moved up from the Primavera to the First Team, I took it and got attached to it, and when I had the choice I chose to stick with it, including when I made my return to Inter.

“I can only say great things about Inter’s fans because I’m one of them myself, the Nerazzurri people are capable of suffering but also celebrating to the max and they’re always close to us.”

He concluded by sending a message to the fans.

“Stay close to your families, stay at home, that’s the only way we can help each other get through this difficult time. Right now we should be applauding those who are working 20 hours a day to help the people affected by this virus, I’m talking about doctors, nurses and so many more professions. Right now they come first, then we’ll return all together to cheer for our Inter.”

Inter Working On New Deal For Lautaro Martinez That’ll See Him Treble His Wages

Inter are in the process of drafting up a new and improved contract offer to make to Lautaro Martinez according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

Lautaro is already under contract with the club until the end of the 2023 season but Inter wish to give him a new deal which is befitting of a player of his importance to the team and because of the interest from elsewhere in his services.

The Nerazzurri club wish to treble the 22-year-old’s current annual pay packet of €1.5 million and also want to remove the €111 million release clause that is in his current deal in order to give them more power when clubs do come knocking for him.

The report goes on to explain that in order for Lautaro to leave the club this Summer, Inter want at least €90 million and they may also accept the inclusion of a player into a deal for him.
