Ex-Cagliari Coach Ivo Pulga: “The Future Of Radja Nainggolan Depends On Him & Inter”

Ivo Pulga, former player and coach of Cagliari, discussed Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan in an interview with Italian media outlet Cagliarinews24.com yesterday.

“For Cagliari he is a luxury, he is a great player who has played in important teams. This year he’s having a great season, I’m convinced he’ll end his career in Cagliari. It’s clear that the decision will be up to him and Inter, and also Cagliari. But Sardinia is like home for him.”

The 31-year-old Belgian midfielder is currently on loan at the Sardinian side from Inter, after having only spent one season in Milan following on from his arrival from Roma. The player failed to convince the Nerazzurri’s management in his only season with the club and was swiftly sent away on a dry loan to Cagliari. The Milanese club are now hoping that the Rossoblu will decide to make an offer for Nainggolan, who has been one of their stars this season.

Nainggolan has made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1943 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided six assists. He is valued by Inter at around €20 million but they may offer a discount to Cagliari in order to secure a permanent move away for him.

Jose Mourinho Names His Dream Starting 11 & Only Includes One Inter Player

Former Inter coach José Mourinho, currently in charge of Premier League side Tottenham, named his dream starting eleven, but only included one Inter player, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Marca.

The report details how the Portuguese coach, who won the Treble with Inter in the 2009/10 season, picked a large selection of former Chelsea players, but no players from Manchester United and only one player from the Nerazzurri. The Inter player picked by Mourinho was Argentine legend Javier Zanetti, who spent 19 years playing for the Milanese club before working as an executive for the team.

The Portuguese coach won two league titles with the Nerazzurri, as well as a Coppa Italia, a Supercoppa Italiana and the Champions League.

Here is Mourinho’s ideal starting eleven (4-4-2): Petr Cech; Javier Zanetti, John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, William Gallas; Claude Makelele, Frank Lampard, Mesut Ozil, Eden Hazard; Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba.

Report Suggests Inter Confident To Sign Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla

Inter believe that the deal for Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla is all but complete, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908 yesterday.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their defensive department in the summer to provide coach Antonio Conte more options. Kumbulla is far from a low-cost option, with an expected cost of €30 million, but considering his potential Inter are happy to pay that fee. The club have followed the 19-year-old for the whole season and appreciate his qualities.

Inter have been in contact with both the player’s entourage and Hellas Verona, the report continues. Whilst other clubs like Napoli and Lazio are interested in the player, Inter believe they are certain to secure his signature. The Nerazzurri have an excellent relationship with Verona, who are willing to allow Inter owned players Federico Dimarco and Eddie Salcedo to be included in the negotiations.

Still Distance Between Inter & Olivier Giroud But The Nerazzurri Have The Advantage Over Lazio

There is still some distance between Inter and French striker Olivier Giroud but the player seems likely to join the Nerazzurri in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.

The report details how the 33-year-old French forward, whose contract expires with Chelsea at the end of this season, was close to joining the Milanese club in the January transfer window, despite interest from other clubs. Lazio and French side Lyon both attempted to sign the 2018 World Cup finalist, but he only wanted to join Inter.

Lazio are still keen on Giroud but Inter have an advantage, the report continues. The Biancocelesti can only guarantee Giroud a contract worth €3.5 million net per season, €1.5 million lower than his requested fee. The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, can afford the cost, especially if Napoli striker Dries Mertens decides to renew his contract with the Partenopei. The only issue is that Giroud wants a multiple year deal, whereas Inter would prefer to offer an annual contract with an option for a second year, due to his older age.
