Fabio Capello: “I’m In Favour Of Extending The Transfer Window Until End Of December”

Former AC Milan and Juventus coach Fabio Capello discussed the idea of extending the upcoming summer transfer window to the end of the year in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We are talking about athletes of the highest level. What would be the problems if you played with the market still open? I don’t see any.”

He was convinced that the longer transfer market would only be a positive thing.

“Let’s not joke, they are real professionals, it seems absurd to me to think that some of them could be distracted by the rumors of the market. I’m absolutely in favour of a market to close at the end of December.”

Finally, Capello discussed the ongoing Coronavirus situation and how it should be handled.

“After all that has happened and is happening, because of such a serious problem that is affecting so many people, I think it is right to prioritise the interests of society, of football in our case. Therefore, if there was a real possibility to do things calmly, without any rush, it would be correct, at least, to take it into consideration and deepen the discussions.”

FIFA are considering the idea that the upcoming summer transfer market could be extended from a September closure to a closure at the end of the year, on the 31st December. The reason is because of the ongoing Coronavirus emergency and its effect on football.

Most of the leagues around Europe have been postponed, posing serious economic risk to many clubs across the continent. An extended transfer window would give some clubs the chance to recover their financial stability before looking to purchase players and strengthen their squad.

Lazio Are Interested In Inter Target Marash Kumbulla

Inter target Marash Kumbulla is now also being targeted by fellow Italian side Lazio, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to Hellas Verona until 2022, has long been in Inter’s notebook, with the Milanese side near the front of the line in the negotiations for him. Lazio, however, could provide strong competition for his signature.

The Biancocelesti have one small advantage, the report continues. Both the club’s sporting director Igli Tare and their starting goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha are Albanian and could convince their compatriot to join the Roman club. The player’s value may also drop due to the ongoing Coronavirus emergency. Whilst initial valuations were in the region of €20-25 million, when the transfer market opens, he could be purchased for less.

Kumbulla has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and impressed with his strong performances.

PSG’s Kurzawa One Of Three Players Inter Looking At For Left Wingback Position

A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has highlighted three more options Inter can consider to reinforce their left wing back position.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are interested in 28-year-old Argentine full back Marcos Acuña, who is currently contracted to Portuguese side Sporting until 2023 and 27-year-old French left back Layvin Kurzawa, whose contract expires with French giants Paris Saint Germain at the end of the season.

However, there is one player that Inter coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of. That player is 27-year-old Serbian midfielder Filip Kostic, the report continues. The player is contracted to German side Eintracht Frankfurt until 2023 and has impressed massively over the last two seasons.

This season, Kostic has made 40 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 3580 minutes. In that time, he has scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists, showing his vision and danger in the box.

Inter Unsure Whether To Cash In On Matias Vecino Amidst Interest From Man Utd, Everton & Tottenham

Several Premier League clubs are interested in Inter midfielder Matias Vecino, but the Nerazzurri aren’t sure whether to sell him or not, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how Premier League sides Manchester United, Tottenham and Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton are all keen on the 28-year-old Uruguayan, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022.

Inter want at least €20 million for Vecino, although coach Antonio Conte may request that the player isn’t sold at all.

The former Chelsea and Italy coach left him on the bench for weeks whilst the player’s name was circulating in the January transfer window, the report continues, before relaunching him to much success in February.

The Nerazzurri now have to decide whether they’d like to continue forward with Vecino or would prefer to sell him in order to use the funds to invest in the squad.

FIFA Consider Extending Upcoming Transfer Window To The End Of The 2020

FIFA’s idea that the upcoming summer transfer window could be extended to the end of the year could become a reality, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the World Leagues Forum has asked for more flexibility, with the European Club Association asking for a permanent transfer window. Each country would be able to choose their own rules, with FIFA continuing to play the role as the supervisor.

The idea is still only an idea for the time being, the report continues, and will need to be further discussed before any concrete theory is created. There would also have to be changes to other aspects of the transfer market, such as loan deals with buy options or obligations to buy attached. Inter have multiple players on loan, such as Mauro Icardi, who could benefit from the extended window.

Gabriel Brazao: “Inter Are My Favourite Team In Europe But Right Now I Need Playing Time & Experience”

Inter owned goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao, who is currently on loan at Spanish second tier side Albacete, discussed his future and dream to play for the Nerazzurri in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Julio Cesar said that I am the future of the Nerazzurri? His words made me happy, also because of what he represents to Inter and Brazil.”

The 19-year-old Brazilian then touched on his move to Albacete and his performances so far.

“Here I expected to play more, I finally managed to play four games. They all went very well, I received a lot of compliments. And then came the stop. I hope that when the season restarts there will be new opportunities.”

Brazao spoke about a future return to Inter.

“Maybe it’s better if I go and play, rather than being a backup, to put together minutes and experience. Inter were and are my favourite team in Europe.”

Finally, the Brazilian goalkeeper spoke about the players that he studies and looks up to.

“I study the greats. Handanovic, of course, but also Alisson and Ederson. They are the best today.”

Inter signed Brazao from fellow Italian side Parma in the summer of 2019 for around €6 million. He was immediately sent on loan to Albacete to help him develop and earn more regular playing time. He has made four appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Spanish second tier side, for a total of 390 minutes. In that time, he conceded three goals and kept one clean sheet.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin: “More Options Open Regarding Financial Fair Play

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has discussed the Coronavirus emergency and its effect on football in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

“At this dramatic moment the most important thing is health, getting out of this crisis. Nobody knows when the pandemic will end. We have plan A, B or C and we are in contact with the leagues, with the clubs, there is a working group.”

The 52-year-old Slovenian then discussed how UEFA are working with FIFA to attempt to reach a common solution.

“We have to wait, like every other sector. I also talked to Gianni Infantino, we are in solidarity. The communication is continuous. It’s very important to forget personal interests and disagreements.”

The UEFA president admitted that they currently do not know when football will restart, considering the current conditions of the Coronavirus emergency.

“Not knowing when the pandemic will end, we can’t have a definitive plan. Start again in mid-May, in June or even at the end of June. Then, if we don’t succeed, the season is probably lost.”

Ceferin discussed another idea to finish the season and what could happen with domestic and continental cups.

“There is also the proposal to finish this season at the beginning of the next one, which would start a little later. We will see the best solution for leagues and clubs. If the clubs start playing, we can finish the cups too. You can use the same dates. For example, Tuesday Milan-Inter and also, I don’t know, Barcelona v Juventus. The same day. It’s a special and unique situation.”

The UEFA president highlighted how the organisation can’t help contract disputes between players and clubs due to the emergency.

“We don’t have jurisdiction over contracts between players and clubs. If the season were to start again, a compromise would be needed, that the contracts expire later and that the period for transfers would be pushed back.”

He touched on whether the remaining games of the season would be played behind closed doors.

“It’s hard for me to imagine all the games behind closed doors, but now we don’t know if we’ll start again, with or without the public. If there was no alternative, it would be better to finish the leagues anyway. I can say that I don’t think about the finals of the European cups behind closed doors.”

Finally, Ceferin spoke about Financial Fair Play.

“The crisis also involves the clubs. We have already postponed some requirements from the end of March to the end of April. It depends on how the situation will develop. Nothing will be the same after this terrible year in the whole world. There are more options open on FFP.”

The Coronavirus emergency has forced Europe to go mostly into lockdown as countries attempt to stop the spread of the contagion. Italy is the worst affected country in Europe and has been in lockdown for weeks in an attempt to help the issue.

Serie A, like most other leagues across the continent, has been postponed until an undetermined date due to the virus. UEFA were then forced to postpone this summer’s European Championship to next summer to try to help the leagues finish on time.

Inter Intend To Keep Ashley Young & Victor Moses As They Continue Italian Lessons

Inter have every intention of keeping English full back Ashley Young and Nigerian winger Victor Moses, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the pair have returned to England to be with their loved ones during the ongoing Coronavirus emergency. In addition to training at home, the two players are also learning Italian through lessons on Skype from a teacher provided by the club, which shows how the Milanese side want the duo to remain at the club.

Young’s stay at the club was almost certain, the report continues, since his strong start under coach Antonio Conte. The former Manchester United full back’s contract expires at the end of this season but Inter are incredibly likely to renew it for another season. The Nerazzurri are also convinced by Moses, despite his slower adaption to the system. The buy option attached is worth €12 million but the Inter executives are hoping to negotiate a discount or a loan renewal.

Inter Have Identified Three Players In Search For Left Back, Including Two Chelsea Players
