Tsimikas’ Agent Has Spoken With Both Inter & Napoli

Kostas Tsimikas’ agent Federico Pastorello has spoken with both Inter and Napoli about his client according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Both clubs have shown an interest in landing the Greek national team defender who is valued at between €15-18 million by his current employers Greek Superleague side Olympiacos.

Napoli have had a scout watch him on three separate occasions and also tried to sign him in the recent January transfer window whilst Inter have also had scouts take in some of his performances.

Tsimikas has made 77 appearances overall for the Erythrolefki with him having contributed a total of 12 assists in that time.

Barcelona Could Sacrifice Griezmann To Help Raise Funds For Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona may sacrifice Antoine Griezmann to help them fund their Summer transfer window business according to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport.

The Frenchman, who joined the club for €120 million this past Summer from Atletico Madrid, is surprisingly among a group of eight players who Barcelona could move on in the coming months.

It has been widely reported that Barcelona’s main targets for the Summer transfer window are Inter’s Lautaro Martinez and Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar and the sale of Griezmann would certainly raise lots of funds which would help them out.

Griezmann, who has netted 14 goals in 37 appearances to date for the Blaugrana, is valued at €120 million by Barcelona thus meaning that if they get that for him, they could afford to pay Lautaro Martinez’s €111 million release clause, something they have been seemingly reluctant to do.

The report goes on to add that Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Carles Alena, Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho, Martin Braithwaite and Neto could all also be moved on in the Summer.

Perisic has impressed whilst with the Bavaria based club with him having scored five goals and tallied eight assists in 22 appearances for them.

Tolisso, who is understood to be unhappy at the Allianz Arena club, has meanwhile made 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored three goals and provided five assists.

British Report Claims Summer Transfer Window Could Be Extended Until End Of January

World football’s governing body FIFA are to hold discussions with clubs over the possible extension of the next transfer window according to a report from British news outlet The Telegraph.

Football across the world has been put on hold as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and FIFA are set to ask clubs for their views on the possibility of extending the next transfer window possibly as far as the end of January 2021.

It is presently unclear when this football season will resume across the globe, if at all, and it is thought that by extending the transfer window, it could help football get back on its feet after a few very difficult months financially for clubs.

As per the report, a number of clubs have already told agents that they have no concrete plans due to all the uncertainty but the extension of the window could well change things for clubs.

Italian Report Claims Serie A Clubs Could Extend Players Contracts Rather Than Cut Their Wages

Serie A clubs could extend the contracts of all players rather than cut their wages now to help them out during the current crisis situation according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

It has been widely speculated that clubs could ask players to take cuts to their salaries up to as much as 30% to help ease the financial impact of the current situation but the Italian players association have come up with an alternative way things could be done.

All teams sign their players to new contracts with reduced terms to those they are currently on but due to the fact the contracts would be longer the players would not be missing out on cash whilst clubs would be spreading the cost of contracts over a longer period.

Moreover, the report from the Rome based newspaper highlights that this will also help clubs out when it comes to the transfer market as the longer contracts will mean more amortisation and thus greater potential to make bigger capital gains.

Serie A Could Lose As Much As €800m If Season Doesn’t Finish

Leagues across Europe wish to complete their domestic campaigns to avoid a ginormous financial collapse according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, leagues across the continent are on hold for the foreseeable future with it remaining a complete mystery as to whether the leagues will even resume at all.

According to this report, leagues want to finish though as failing to do so would lead to huge financial losses. When it comes to Serie A, it has been estimated that there will be a total loss of between €700-800 million spread across the clubs if the season does not conclude.

European football’s governing body UEFA initially wanted the seasons concluded by June 30 at the latest but given the situation they have understood that this may not be possible and exceptions may need to be made for some leagues in order for them to finish.

Lega Serie A President Dal Pino: “I Don’t Want To Hear About The Problems Regarding Training Anymore”

Paolo Dal Pino, the president of Lega Serie A, has admitted he has grown sick and tired of constantly hearing about training and when it could possibly resume.

All sporting activity in Italy is currently on hold until the beginning of next month due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic but despite this, there has been a lot of talk about when teams will be allowed to get back to training.

Various reports in the media have stated that Serie A clubs are divided with some wanting training to resume immediately and the season to resume as soon as possible after that whilst others are completely against the idea of training and season resuming and want it to be considered finished.

Lazio’s Claudio Lotito is heading the group of teams wanting things to resume whilst Sampdoria are among the clubs not wanting things to resume.

“I don’t want to hear about the problems regarding training anymore. At least until April 3, when the decree expires,” he remarked in an interview which appeared in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Bojan Krkic: “I’m Convinced Eriksen Will Do Very Well At Inter”

Former Rome player Bojan Krkic has tipped former teammate and current Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen to be a success at the Nerazzurri despite his slow start to life at the club.

Eriksen joined Inter in the recent January transfer window from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in a circa €20 million deal but has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings.

Eriksen has particularly struggled to fit into Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system given he is naturally an attacking midfielder and in eight appearances across all competitions for the club, he has contributed a single goal and a single assist.

Bojan, who is currently on the books of MLS franchise Montreal Impact and was a teammate of Eriksen’s at Ajax, has shared his belief that given time, Danish national team player Eriksen will come good for Inter.

“I arrived at Ajax in 2013 and shortly thereafter he moved on to Tottenham. In the Premier League, when I was at Stoke City, I played against him several times,” he started in an interview which appeared in the print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport today.

“We are talking about someone who has pure talent but he still has to fit in and it is not easy to do that in Italy. Give him a little time and I am convinced that he will do very well.”

Viviano’s Agent: “It Still Remains Pleasing That Inter Thought About Him When They Needed A Goalkeeper”

Claudio Vigorelli, the agent of Emiliano Viviano, has admitted that the fact Inter called his client in for a trial in recent months was very pleasing for him.

When Samir Handanovic sustained a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand, Inter brought Viviano to train with the club with a view to a possible deal whilst they assessed the damage of Handanovic’s injury.

Viviano, who underwent and passed a medical with the club, trained for a few days with Antonio Conte’s side but once it became apparent that Handanovic’s injury was not as serious as first feared, Inter told Viviano that his services would not be required.

“Emiliano made himself available when he received the call but Handanovic’s injury seemed less serious than expected. Inter thought of hiring a goalkeeper and Viviano immediately came to mind. This pleased us,” Vigorelli began an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“For a few days there was a great chance of him going to Inter but then it did not go through. It still remains pleasing though that he was taken into great consideration by the management of the club.”

Vigorelli went on to add that he is confident that his client, who has been a free agent since leaving Portuguese giants Sporting at the end of last year, will find new employers over the Summer: “Emiliano has a great desire to return and in the Summer his time will come.”
