Emiliano Viviano: “It’s Not True That I Went To Train With Inter Due To Padelli’s Mistakes”

Emiliano Viviano has denied reports that have suggested Inter brought him in for a trial due to Daniele Padelli’s mistakes.

Padelli was forced to stand in for current Inter number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic when he sustained a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand and due to uncertainty over when he would return, Inter brought in Viviano for a trial.

In the end it turned out Handanovic would not be out as long as initially expected and Viviano, who had already underwent and passed a medical with the club, was told he would not be getting a deal with the club.

“Reports said that I had gone to Inter due to Padelli’s mistakes, when in reality it was absolutely not true. I had already spoken with the club and I would have had to go to train there anyway, because they thought that the injury of Handanovic was more serious than expected,” the 34-year-old shot-stopper explained in an interview withsampnews24.com.

Viviano, who has formerly played for seven Serie A clubs as well as Premier League side Arsenal, was last at Portuguese powerhouses Sporting but never played a game for them before leaving them near the end of last year.

Sporting Want To Bring Inter Midfielder Joao Mario Back To The Club

Joao Mario is one of a number of several former players that Sporting president Frederico Varandas would like to bring back to the club according to a report from Portuguese news outlet O Jogo.

The 27-year-old is currently on Inter’s books and has been since the Summer of 2016 but is currently out on loan at Russian Premier League club Lokomotiv Moscow, who he has made 15 appearances for across all competitions this season in which he has scored one goal and provided four assists.

Aside from Joao Mario, the report states that Varandas would also like to bring Adrien Silva, Islam Slimani, Cédric Soares and Miguel Veloso back to the José Alvalade Stadium.

Silva, Cedric and Veloso all started their careers with Sporting just like Joao Mario did whilst it was Sporting who brought Algerian national team striker Slimani to Europe from Chabab Riadhi de Belouizdad back in the Summer of 2013.

Inter Legend & Cagliari Manager Zenga: “Radja Nainggolan Is A Top Player”

Legendary Inter goalkeeper and current manager of Cagliari Walter Zenga has admitted he thinks it will be difficult for the current season to be concluded by the end of June.

Almost every league across Europe is currently on hold as a direct consequence of the global Coronavirus pandemic and last week all of UEFA’s member associations, who it applies to, made a commitment to conclude their domestic campaigns by June 30 at the latest.

However, due to the complete unpredictability of the currently ever changing situation, it is completely unclear as to when the season may resume, if at all.

“If football resumes, it means that some sort of normal life will have resumed and we will accept whatever will be but I think it is hard for the season to finish by the end of June. It would be easier to play through July,” he remarked in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Holidays? Who cares about holidays. If we have to play into the middle of August, let’s play in August.”

He then went on to discuss midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who is on loan at the club from Inter.

The 31-year-old Belgian, who has 30 caps for the national team, has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term in which he has scored five goals and provided six assists for his Rossoblu teammates.

“He is a top player and can play where you want him to, even in front of the defence but I will look to find a permanent position for him, the one where he will be able to give 100%.”

Roberto Donadoni: “Juventus Have Always Been Up There, As Have Inter & Lazio Have Been A Very Tough Opponent”

In an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport which appeared in today’s print edition, Italian football manager Roberto Donadoni has discussed the race for the Serie A title this season.

For the first time in many years there has been a total of three clubs vying to be crowned the champions of Italy with Juventus, Lazio and Inter all responding to one another pretty much blow for blow for the most part this campaign.

As things stand, Juventus currently sit at the top of the table with 63 points to their name after 26 games played, Lazio are in second place with 62 points having played the same amount of games whilst Inter are in third place with 54 points having played a game less than their fellow title hopefuls.

“The league table is respecting the predictions. Juventus are always up there and Inter are there too, despite having dropped off a little. Lazio have been a revelation this year and they have been a very tough opponent for everyone,” Donadoni, who is currently in charge of Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC, began the interview.

It remains to be seen if the league will even resume given the currently unprecedented situation and if it does not resume it is unclear what would happen with the title.

Photo – Inter Defender Candreva: “We Will All Emerge Stronger Than Before”

Inter wing back Antonio Candreva has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to share that he is missing playing in front of the Nerazzurri faithful at San Siro.

All sporting activity in Italy is currently on hold until at least the beginning of next month and Inter have now not played for several weeks and Candreva, like Inter fans around the world, is seemingly having withdrawal symptoms.

The 33-year-old, who joined from Lazio in 2016, posted: “Oh how much I miss you. The desire to return to play is so strong. It is still early, it takes time but we will all emerge stronger than before, when the time is right and when, all together, we have won this battle.”
