Lazio StrikerCiro Immobile’s Agent: “Inter Showed An Interest In Him A Year Ago”

In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli on Monday afternoon, Ciro Immobile’s agent Alessandro Moggi has revealed that Inter showed an interest in signing his client a year ago.

Immobile is currently on the books of Serie A side Lazio and has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in the league since his arrival in the Italian capital from Sevilla in the Summer of 2016.

He initially spoke on the alleged interest that Napoli have in signing his client, who has scored 30 goals in 33 games across all competitions to date this season.

“There’s no doubt that Giuntoli is a real admirer of Immobile, so much so that he wanted to bring him to Naples just before Ciro went to Lazio,” he said.

“Giuntoli was and remains an admirer of Immobile, but it seems difficult not to be one, given what Immobile has done in the last five years.

“Today, however, beyond what may be the interests of Napoli and other clubs, for a player as consistent over the years as Immobile, the market may take a knock back because of the Coronavirus emergency.

“He has a contract until 2023. If there’s someone who is genuinely interested in him, they’ll have to knock on Lazio’s door, in addition to that of the player.”

He then spoke on the interest Inter and a few other clubs showed in the 30-year-old Italian national team forward a year ago.

“It’s too early to talk about interest in him now but, like there’s already been from Inter, AC Milan and China a year ago, it’s normal. We’ll see what happens further down the line.”

In conclusion, he spoke on reports that have suggested Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik could cost any interested club as much as €40 million, despite the fact his contract is due to expire at the end of next season.

“If, with an expiring contract, he’s worth €40 million, tell me how much Immobile is then worth.”

Transfer Market Start & Finish Dates Could Be Changed Due To Current Situation

The current crisis situation could have an affect on the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The transfer market traditionally begins on July 1 in most European nations but if seasons cannot be completed by June 30, the transfer market start and finish date may have to be revised.

Multiple reports in the media have suggested there will be a football transfer market crash of sorts with several players values set to plummet as a result of the current situation.

It also remains to be seen what will happen to loan with option to buy deals if the season does in fact surpass the June 30 deadline.

Moreover, playing on beyond June 30 could create a lot of contractual complications. Many player’s deals with clubs will expire on June 30 whilst others will have pre-contract agreements in place which will come into force from July 1.

Inter Owned Joao Mario: “La Liga Would Be Perfect For Me, I’m Sure I’d Have A Lot Of Fun There”

In a question and answer session which he held on his official Instagram profile earlier on today, Inter owned midfielder Joao Mario has shared his dream to play in La Liga during his career.

The Portuguese national team player, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2016 from Portugese powerhouses Sporting, is currently out on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow and firstly discussed how it felt to be part of the 2016 European Championship winning side.

“Winning the tournament was incredible. It is an honour that will last a lifetime and I believe I am part of the history of Portugal due to winning this,” he began.

He then reflected on what it was like for him the first time he received a call-up to the national team.

“I phoned my mum and brother Wilson because it was something I dreamed of, which I always wanted and the first thing I did was call them. They got so excited because it was a really special moment.”

Joao Mario proceeded to discuss which player he looked up to when he was growing up and why.

“Zidane was the first person I looked up to. He was very elegant on the pitch and inspired me a lot. The second player is Cristiano Ronaldo because when I arrived at Sporting Lisbon, the year he went to Manchester United, he was an example for all the young people who wanted to follow him. He was a great inspiration for me as a young athlete.”

He then discussed what his favourite system to play in is.

“I like 4-3-3 because when I was playing in the youth team it was the most used tactic. It is the system that I am most comfortable in and the central midfielder position is where I think I can play my best football.”

He then went on to discuss the favourite game he has played in during his career.

“The 2016 European Championship final was a special game, it lasted 120 minutes and was a battle between two of the best national football teams. Without a doubt, I say that match, it is the game in which I had the most fun.”

Next Joao Mario revealed he wishes to play in La Liga in the future when asked if there is any leagues he would like to play in.

“Apart from the ones I have played in, I think the Spanish La Liga would be perfect for my style and I’m sure I would have a lot of fun in a championship where good football is played. Perhaps you could say it’s a dream of mine that is not yet a reality.”

The 27-year-old then spoke on something he thinks he can improve upon.

“Day after day I try to improve my finishing, it is very important in modern football. It takes hard work, I know, but I will try to improve little by little and now I am taking great care. In recent years I have felt more and more confident.”

In conclusion, he discussed what it is like to train alongside Cristiano Ronaldo with the national team.

“When you train with him, you understand why he is at the level that he is. His performances, his training, his attention to food and his mentality make the difference.”

Inter Won’t Resume Training On Wednesday

Inter have no intention of resuming training on March 25 as they had initially expected to according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.

Inter went into a mandatory two week quarantine 13 days ago after Juventus centre back Daniele Rugani tested positive for Coronavirus just days on from the two sides’ meeting at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, which the Bianconeri won 2-0 with thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala.

For the time being no Inter player has showed any signs of symptoms of the virus but despite this they will not train and will remain at home.

Whilst in quarantine, the players have had personalised training schedules and nutritional plans to follow to help keep them in shape during this period of inactivity.

With the team not going to return to training when initially expected, it can be presumed that players will continue to follow the training schedules and nutritional plans.

German Report Claims Inter Linked Mario Gotze Is Dreaming Of Move To Italy

Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze is dreaming of a Summer transfer window move to Italy according to a report in today’s print edition of German sports newspaper Bild.

The German’s contract with his current employers is due to expire at the end of this campaign and with no contract extension seemingly forthcoming, he has began to think about a future away from Signal Iduna Park, where he has spent almost his entire playing career.

Gotze has drawn links to both Inter and AC Milan in the past few months and the report states that his representatives could well offer his services out to club in Italy in a bid to get their client his dream move.

The 2014 World Cup winner, who has spent seven of his 10 years as a professional player with Dortmund, has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date this term in which he has scored three goals and provided a single assist.

Serie A Could Lose Over €700m If Season Does Not Finish

Serie A could lose in excess of €700 million in the worst case scenario according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Lega Serie A are set to send the Italian football federation an estimate of the economic damage that their clubs have suffered as a direct result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

The Italian government are well aware that they are likely to have to intervene and provide financial assistance but how much they will have to help out depends on if the season concludes or not.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that if the season does not conclude whatsoever, it has been estimated that there will be a total loss of €720 million but if the season does conclude, even if it finishes later than expected, the loss will ‘only’ be €167 million and this is certainly the preferred way for things to end up.

Inter Allow Several Foreign Players To Return Home Amid Ongoing Crisis

Inter have allowed several foreign players to return to their native countries amid the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

Inter have granted a number of players the ability to return home to loved ones with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic among those being allowed to return to their homeland and it is understood that Uruguayan’s Matias Vecino and Diego Godin have also been allowed to return home by the club.

The Nerazzurri have many other foreign players among their ranks and it is as yet unclear if any other players have been told they can return to their native homeland’s.

With no football on for the foreseeable future, it can be presumed that the club will probably allow other players the opportunity to go back home until the crisis lessens.

Inter are not the only club to have let players travel home with arch rivals Juventus also sanctioning a number of their players to do the same.

Inter Midfielder Borja Valero: “Staying At Home Is Of The Utmost Importance, Conte Is Intense”

In a live question and answer session which was broadcast across Inter’s social media platform’s earlier on today, Inter midfielder Borja Valero spoke on a range of topics and firstly spoke on how he has passed the time whilst stuck in quarantine.

“I’m feeling good and trying to pass the time as best I can during this difficult period. Luckily, my wife and two children are here with me at home. I help my children with their homework and am also training.

“We’ve been inventing games to play and things to do every day: I’ve come up with a football-tennis game in my bed. The most important thing at this time is to show strength and courage and, above all, make people understand that staying at home is of the utmost importance.

“This makes the difference and is the only way we’ll be able to return to our normal lives as soon as possible.”

Secondly he discussed one of his passions other to football, reading.

“I really like reading, I’m reading a book series written by Jo Nesbo, ‘The Redbreast’. It’s a series of six/seven books and I’m on the third one.”

Borja Valero then went on to speak about what it is like to work under current Inter manager Antonio Conte and why he chose to wear the number 20 shirt at Inter.

“I could define Conte in one word: intense. He throws himself fully into everything he does, even the most common tasks. He is deeply passionate and has a winning character: he wants to win at all costs and works to do so. I’m stubborn, I thought I’d be able to help this team even when I was playing fewer matches.

“I trained at 100% every day to ensure that I was ready when called upon, and I’m happy that I demonstrated that I was able to make a contribution when this moment arrived.

“I selected the number 20 because it was one of the few numbers remaining when I arrived at Villarreal. I liked it and have stuck with it ever since.”

Next Borja Valero went on to discuss other sports he enjoys whilst he is not busy with football and something he enjoys doing with his family.

“It’s important to understand what sport can give us. Having a competitive mentality and applying this in all contexts of life can really help. I like playing tennis when I can. For Spaniards, Rafa Nadal is an example to follow, both as a player and as a person. He’s incredible.

“I follow the NBA and NFL, while walking in the mountains with my family and dog has been one of my passions for a few years now. It’s a good way to get away from life in the city and experience unique moments together.”

The former West Bromwich Albion player then spoke on his footballing idol growing up and the most exciting match he has ever played in during his career.

“I’ve been in love with football since I was a child, I admired Guti who, like me, came up through the youth academy at Real Madrid and managed to make it to the first team and succeed. For me, he was a really impressive player.

“The most exciting match I remember is my first Milan derby. I used to follow it on TV, but you don’t realise its significance until you play in it wearing the Nerazzurri colours. We won 3-2 and it was a great feeling to be able to contribute to that win, it was a truly magical moment.”

He then went on to discuss the support that the team receive from the fans and also called for unity amid the current ongoing crisis.

“Inter fans always support us, they always get behind us and we can only thank them because that support translates into more points at the end of the season.

“I’ve always said that you learn more about people in difficult moments. Here people are getting together and supporting each other, I can see it from my house too.

“At nine o’clock people go out onto the balconies and everyone reassures each other and gives each other hope while waiting for normality to return.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on teammates Sebastiano Esposito and Marcelo Brozovic.

“Esposito is a great player who is growing a lot, he can do so thanks to the experience of the other players we have in this team. I think Brozovic is an incredible player and he’s hit great heights with his performances this season.”
