Inter Owned Icardi Has Told PSG He Doesn’t Want A Permanent Move As He Wants To Return To Italy

Mauro Icardi has already told Paris Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo that he does not want to join the club on a permanent basis according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Icardi is currently on loan at the French capital club from Inter and they have an option to turn his stay into a permanent one for €65 million but Icardi has set his sights on a return to Italy.

Icardi told Leonardo back in January that he wishes to return back to Italy and he could possibly end up at Inter’s arch rivals Juventus according to the report.

Juventus have been keeping a close eye on the Argentine striker’s situation for some time now and are ready to negotiate with Inter for him but it will be far from easy for an agreement to be found given the two clubs are arch rivals.

AC Milan have also shown an interest in the past but Financial Fair Play is likely to scupper their chances of being able to afford a move for the former Barcelona academy player.

Serie A Could Start Again Behind Closed Doors In June

Serie A could resume play in June according to a report in today’s print edition of Rome based newspaper La Repubblica.

All sporting activity is currently on hold in Italy until at least April 3 due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and given the severity of the situation, it is highly unlikely that the season will resume anytime close to that date.

At a recent meeting between European football’s governing body UEFA, its members federations and other people, leagues made a commitment to conclude their domestic campaigns by June 30 but with the current situation ever changing it looks unlikely that this will be possible to achieve.

The report states that games could start up again behind closed doors to ensure safety but even then there are still a lot of issues to be considered.

The season may not resume whatsoever in which case Serie A would stand to make a significant estimated loss of €720 million.

Sepe Overtakes Musso As Inter’s Primary Objective To Be Handanovic’s Back-Up

Parma’s Luigi Sepe has become Inter’s primary option to become Samir Handanovic’s back-up goalkeeper according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter have been strongly linked with Udinese’s €30 million rated Juan Musso in recent weeks but with it understood that Musso only wants to be a starter and not back-up, Inter have shifted their attention onto Sepe.

Sepe joined Parma in a loan with obligation to buy deal from Napoli this past Summer and has impressed Inter management with his performances this term.

It is as yet unclear how much Parma want for him but it can be presumed that it will be a lot less than what Udinese are wanting for Musso.

The good relations between Inter and Parma could also significantly help out in talks between the two sides over the 28-year-old shot-stopper, who has conceded 28 goals and kept five clean sheets in 22 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state that current back-up goalkeeper Daniele Padelli could extend his contract with the club and he could become the third choice goalkeeper.

Inter Manager Conte Continuing To Weigh Up Where Is Best To Deploy Eriksen

Inter manager Antonio Conte is using the current period to assess which position is best for Christian Eriksen to be deployed in according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

28-year-old Eriksen joined Inter in the recent January transfer window in a circa €20 million deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur but has struggled to make the desired impact since his arrival.

Conte has tried Eriksen in various roles and systems to try and get the best out of him but the former Italian national team manager is still undecided.

Conte’s initial idea was to play Eriksen to the left of Marcelo Brozovic in his tried and tested 3-5-2 system and he has also used Eriksen as a left midfielder in a 4-4-2 and as an attacking midfielder in a 4-3-1-2 system.

Eriksen has made eight appearances across all competitions since joining the club on a four and a half year deal, in which he has scored one goal and contributed one assist.

Former Inter President Moratti Has No Interested In Getting Involved At Cremonese

Former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti is not interested in getting involved with Cremonese according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Some recent reports have suggested that Moratti could get involved at the Serie B outfit with it understood that their current president and owner Giovanni Arvedi wishes to sell the club and leave the footballing world.

Ever since leaving Inter completely a few years ago, Moratti has been linked with taking over at several other clubs in Italy but nothing has ever come to fruition.

Moratti bought a controlling stake in Inter in 1995 from Ernesto Pellegrini and would rule over the club for just shy of two decades before Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir bought a controlling stake in the club from him.

During Moratti’s years as owner of the club, Inter enjoyed great success with them winning several trophies along the way, including a famous treble win in the 2009/10 season which included the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League.

Italian Players Association President Tommasi: “I Hope We Can Get Back To Training Soon”

In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Anch’io Lo Sport earlier on today, Damiano Tommasi, the president of the Italian players association, has spoken on what he thinks the club’s current intentions are amid the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

All sporting activity in Italy is on hold until at least April 3 due to a government decree but given the current situation, it is unlikely that activity will resume on that date.

“I think they [the clubs] are thinking about aligning themselves with the decisions of the whole country. Right now, I don’t know anything more than that,” he started.

“We are talking about the month of March, we are talking about a recovery that is not yet fixed, because it can’t be defined yet but I think salaries are the last thing we are thinking about.

“At the moment, I’m not very optimistic that we align ourselves with the country.”

He was then asked what it would mean if football could be played again in August.

“It would be a positive thing to get back playing in August, we would all like to get back to playing, as it would mean the situation has improved. There are still technical details, though and issues relating to contracts and deadlines.

“If you are playing far ahead in time, you have to plan many things. Right now, you can’t move away from your own town, so it’s difficult to predict things.

In conclusion he was asked about his thoughts on when teams could make a return to training.

“I hope we can get back to training soon because it would mean that Italy has solved or is solving this moment.”

It currently remains unclear when the season could resume if at all. Many reports at the moment are currently speculating about the potential financial impact of the situation with estimates for losses ranging from €167 million if the season finishes all the way to €720 million if it does not finish.

Inter Could Move For Parma Goalkeeper Luigi Sepe In Summer Transfer Window

Inter are considering a potential Summer transfer window swoop for Parma goalkeeper Luigi Sepe according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Inter are looking for a new goalkeeper capable of being current number one Samir Handanovic’s back-up and had initially looked at Udinese’s Juan Musso but with him expected to cost around €30 million, Inter are now looking around at other options.

As per this report, Inter could move for Sepe and agree to loan Ionut Andrei Radu to the Ducali for all of next season in a loan swap deal.

Inter and Parma have very good relations with one another due to deals done in recent transfer windows. Aside from Radu, Inter have also sent the likes of Yann Karamoh, Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco to them.

Inter manager Antonio Conte also has particularly good relations with Parma’s sporting director Daniele Faggiano and manager Roberto D’Aversa.

28-year-old Sepe has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date this season in which he has conceded 28 goals and kept five clean sheets.

Inter Closer To Castrovilli Than Juventus Are But Fiorentina Are Reluctant To Let Him Go

Inter are closer to signing Fiorentina’s Gaetano Castrovilli than arch-rivals Juventus are but will have to deal with a stern Fiorentina management according to a report in today’s print edition of La Nazione.

It is widely reported that both Inter and Juventus have identified the highly rated midfielder as one of their top targets ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window but Fiorentina are understood to be reluctant about letting him go.

Fiorentina tied him down to a new long term contract until the end of the 2023/24 season at the end of last year in a bid to deter interest but it does not seem to have worked.

The report from the Florence based newspaper goes on to state that as a result of the global Coronavirus pandemic, Castrovilli’s value, like players across the world has dropped. Previously valued at €30 million, the Italian national team player is valued at €20 million.
