Inter Hoping To Fund Summer Deals With Money Collected From Selling Players Out On Loan

Inter are hoping to earn a lot of money from the sale of players currently out on loan, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Milanese club are happy that Croatian forward Ivan Perisic seems incredibly likely to remain with Bayern Munich beyond this season. The Bavarian side seem to have decided to keep the 2018 World Cup finalist and Inter will earn around €15-20 million from the deal.

Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who is currently on a dry loan at Cagliari, could also be sold in the summer, the report highlights. Inter still need to pay another €25 million to the Sardinian side due to the deal for Nicolo Barella, and so could use Nainggolan to negotiate a discount.

Two other players that Inter are hoping to sell this summer are Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario and Austrian midfielder Valentino Lazaro, the report adds. Mario is currently on loan at Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow and would earn Inter €18 million should they decide to purchase him. Lazaro would cost Premier League side Newcastle €23-24 million.

Inter Owned Striker Mauro Icardi’s Future At Paris Saint Germain Depends On Internal Power Struggle

Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi’s future at Paris Saint Germain wasn’t questioned for his performances, but due to an internal power struggle, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 27-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to Inter until 2022, found himself at the centre of a power struggle between club coach Thomas Tuchel and sporting director Leonardo. The German coach wants greater decision-making power at the club and one of the pawns in the battle is Icardi. Leonardo was the architect of the deal last summer that saw the Argentine forward arrive on loan and is pushing the club to activate the buy option on him.

Inter are supporting Leonardo, the report continues, as selling Icardi for €70 million would be an almost total capital gain. The Nerazzurri then plan to use the money earnt to strengthen the squad.

Fabio Capello: “Good Idea To Delay Euro 2020, Now Is Not The Time To Play Football”

Former Juventus and AC Milan coach Fabio Capello discussed the Coronavirus emergency, its effect on football and the postponement of Euro 2020 in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper AS.

First, the 73-year-old Italian discussed how he is handling this emergency.

“I’ve never gone through anything like this in my life, the days without football are very long.”

The former England and Roma coach then discussed the decision to postpone Euro 2020 to next summer, in order to allow the leagues to finish with regularity.

“Good idea. Now is not the time to play football. I started playing after the war, but I’ve never experienced anything like it.”

Finally, Cappello spoke about how players have to face these difficult moments and focus on what matters, rather than allowing their mentality to slip.

“You can only hope that your players are professionals, that they take care of themselves, that they don’t get fat. If they keep eating like they do when they train, you risk throwing it all away.”

The Coronavirus emergency has seen Serie A, like most other leagues around Europe, be postponed until further notice, in order to protect the health and safety of fans, staff and the players. UEFA agreed to postpone Euro 2020 to the summer of 2021 in order to allow leagues to finish before June 30th, the date that the football year changes.

Getafe Coach José Bordalas: “We Still Don’t KNow When Or Where We Will Play Inter”

Getafe coach José Bordalas discussed the Coronavirus emergency and the Spanish side’s delayed Europa League match against Inter in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We still don’t know how much time they’ll give us before we play again, but we’re confident that there will be a period of adaptation to the competition. Otherwise there would be serious risks at an injury level, until we see the players, we can’t know how they really are, and no matter how much they can train at home they can’t do what we usually do on the pitch.”

The Getafe coach then discussed the delayed match against the Nerazzurri and the club’s president’s decision to stop the team travelling to Milan for the game.

“The president’s decision was incredibly right. Travelling at that time was tremendously risky for time and place. Just think about what happened to others who went to Milan, like Valencia or Madrid’s basketball team. The president’s stance was positive for us and for football, it opened our eyes to others. There were too many people who thought that nothing would happen and that we had to continue living in a normal way, time told us that it wasn’t like that, the word pandemic came.”

He spoke about the history of Inter and what the game against the Nerazzurri means to the Spanish side.

“Little to say. A historic team, a fantastic team, with a great coach and great players. Symbol of a league, Serie A, which is growing so much, recovering the footballing status that belongs to it. Cristiano Ronaldo has arrived and they have bought players from the Premier League, something unthinkable until recently. It’s a wonderful challenge for us, full of meaning.”

Finally, Bordalas discussed the fact there is still a lot of confusion about when the game will be played.

“Lots of speculation, no certainty. Let’s hope we can play it, and we’ll play it soon. If we can’t play it in a classic way, at San Siro and here at home, I’m sure that UEFA will find the best solution without prejudicing anyone.”

Getafe are fifth in La Liga this season after 27 games, only one point behind third place Valencia. The side beat Dutch side Ajax to qualify for this knockout stage.

UEFA agreed to postpone the upcoming European Championship in order to allow domestic leagues across the continent to finish on time.

Ex-Inter Midfielder Paul Ince: “Manchester United Need A Striker Who Scores 20-25 Goals, They Lost That By Selling Romelu Lukaku”

Former Inter and Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince discussed what the Red Devils need to do to improve in the summer, highlighting a mistake they made last year, in an interview with international media broadcaster Goal yesterday.

“All the best teams have strikers who score 20-25 goals in a bad season. Manchester United lost that by sending Romelu Lukaku away. That must be their main goal in the market.”

Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri from the English club for a club record fee last summer, signing a contract that ties him to the Milanese side until 2024. The 26-year-old Belgian striker has long been the target of coach Antonio Conte, who attempted to sign him whilst in charge of Chelsea.

Lukaku has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2904 minutes. In that time, he has scored 23 goals and provided five assists, being a core part of Inter’s successful season so far. The former Everton forward has also formed a formidable partnership with Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, allowing the 22-year-old to flourish.

Ex-Inter Coach Andrea Stramaccioni: “Massimo Moratti Was A Great President, I Wish There Were More Like Him”

Former Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni discussed the Nerazzurri’s big victory against Juventus in their stadium in Turin in an interview with Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com yesterday.

“It was a victory of Inter-ness, I know I was the first coach to win at the Stadium and I know that the rivalry between Inter and Juve is also sometimes higher than that with AC Milan.”

Stramaccioni then spoke about that Juventus squad, as well as some of the players that he had at his disposal.

“That Juve was almost invincible, coached by a master like Antonio Conte, but Inter with their champions played a great game with Milito, Cassano, Cambiasso, Samuel, Handanovic, I’m sure I’m forgetting some. Palacio was there, Guarin was there, that game gave us a lot and it was worth three times more than three points.”

The 44-year-old Italian spoke about the build up to the game and a brief interaction with then Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta.

“We played it on equal footing. There had been some skirmishes before the match, it was tense on the eve of the big match, Beppe Marotta commented about the three points, and I clarified it with him. We entered the field very pumped, a victory as champions against a super Juve.”

Stramaccioni touched on his relationship with former Inter president Massimo Moratti.

“He was a great president, I would like more presidents like him, now I see more commercial figures. I showed him my Inter and told him what a little of what I could do. In front of those champions it’s technically difficult to teach them anything, you have to convince them in an important way. Besides, I wasn’t a great player. I had a team of champions. Moratti is an enthusiast, but also a connoisseur and at the end of the chat he told me that I was the new coach of Inter.”

Finally, Stramaccioni discussed how it felt to go from a lawyer to a coach and how Moratti watched him closely.

“It was a dream for me, really, I graduated in law and I used to coach, but in the meantime I worked in a law firm. Him behind the bench when I was coaching the Primavera squad to hear what I told the players? We played in Tottenham’s stadium against Ajax and I was very impressed, the atmosphere and everything. Moratti was there behind me, instead of going into the VIP stands he stood behind me. A few words escaped me, of course, but I don’t think that’s why the president was there.”

Stramaccioni replaced Claudio Ranieri in 2012 after the latter was dismissed due to poor results. His first derby victory against rivals AC Milan ensured that the Rossoneri wouldn’t win the league title that season, currying favour with the Nerazzurri fans, despite the 6th place finish. He lasted 14 months in the role before being dismissed at the end of the 2012/13 season.
