Man Utd & Chelsea Contact Agent Of Inter Target Timo Werner Who Is Waiting For An Offer From Liverpool

Manchester United and Chelsea have made contact with the agent of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner regarding a possible Summer transfer window switch according to a report from Christian Falk, a journalist from German news outlet BILD.

The 24-year-old has been one of the most prolific strikers in the world in the past few seasons and appears destined to leave the German Bundesliga outfit in the coming months.

Whilst Manchester United and Chelsea have made contact, the report goes on to add that Werner is holding out for an offer from their fellow Premier League club Liverpool.

Werner has also drawn links over a move to Inter in recent weeks and it has been widely reported that he has a €60 million release clause in his contract.

Reports in the media have suggested that Inter could make a move for Werner if Lautaro Martinez is to depart the club amid continued links to La Liga giants Barcelona.

Inter Legend Ivan Cordoba: “Cuper Laid The Foundations For The Inter Side That Would Go On To Win Continuously”

In an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, legendary defender Ivan Cordoba spoke on a range of topics and firstly praised former manager Hector Cuper for the part he played in Inter going on to be so successful in the 2000s.

“When I arrived at Inter there were a lot of changes. Under Hector Cuper we started to create something different and aim for important objectives. The foundations were laid for the Inter side that would go on to win continuously,” he explained.

He then went on sing the praises of former teammate Juan Sebastian Veron and winning the Italian super cup in 2005.

“Every time I think of him I remember that goal in Turin against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana, our second important trophy after winning the Coppa Italia. By winning that cup we told ourselves that we had to keep winning and that Supercoppa Italiana game was crazy.”

He then spoke on some of the fine free kick takers that what were at Inter alongside him and discussed the importance of competition in training.

“With Verona, Recoba and Mihajlovic, we had to score. Veron for us defenders was a point of reference because as soon as we recovered the ball he showed up and started to dictate the game.

“The strong character of the players who always want to win makes the difference. Being competitive even in training is useful for the team to be always ready to win together even in the game, because everyone always fights.”

He then went on to discuss his jumping ability which was especially impressive for a defender who is only five foot and eight inches tall.

“It is a natural gift that I improved. As a child I was always on the street playing and always jumping, when I started training they understood my predisposition and my first manager began to give me specific exercises such as hanging a ball high and trying to hit it with my head. Another thing that helped me was the work on the ankles, I was doing a lot of repetitions of strength that helped me increase the power.”

The former Colombian international then reflected on the first trophy which he won with Inter, the Coppa Italia in the 2004/05 season.

“Many matches have a special meaning, for me the first Coppa Italia win means so much because we took a weight off our shoulders and from there on we understood that we could win again. We celebrated as if we had won the Champions League.”

In conclusion he spoke on Inter’s famous Champions League semi-final loss to Barcelona which happened just over 10 years ago.

Inter lost the match 1-0 but with thanks to a 3-1 victory in the first leg at San Siro, Inter progressed to the final with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline and then went on to win the Champions League.

“Barcelona-Inter seemed like an endless game, since Thiago Motta was sent off and that match lasted a day It was difficult, but at the final whistle it was all beautiful, these are moments that remain forever in your memory. It had to be like this, those semi finals made us even stronger, in those games it is true that small details make the difference.”

Luca Castellazzi: “It Wasn’t Easy To Arrive At Inter & Be Accepted By A Winning Team But The Guys Were Wonderful”

In an interview with Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it, former Inter goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi has spoken on a number on Inter related topics and started with how he felt when he joined Inter back in 2010.

“The first day, I was super excited. I was 35 years old, but it was like the first day of school for me because I was in the team that had just won the treble,” he began the interview.

“I arrived very early at the training ground because I did not want to be late and then an adventure which I took plenty satisfaction from began.

“I was lucky to make my debut in the Champions League against Werder Bremen. It was not easy to arrive and be accepted by a winning team but the guys were wonderful.”

Castellazzi spent his tenure with Inter as the back up goalkeeper firstly to Julio Cesar and then to Samir Handanovic and discussed how he dealt with being second choice.

“The secret, if you can call it that, is to train as if you had to play always, with desire and concentration. You also need to do this because you don’t know when you will be called into question. You go from sitting on the bench to the field without even warming you up.”

He then spoke very briefly on current Inter back up goalkeeper Daniele Padelli’s recent spell in between the sticks whilst Handanovic was out injured with a hand injury.

“I appreciate Padelli because he is an exceptional professional. He played some difficult games and I saw him grow.”

The now 44-year-old, who is team manager at Torino, also touched upon young goalkeeper Ionut Andrei Radu and shared his expectations of the Romanian national team shot-stopper who is being tipped to succeed Samir Handanovic in the future.

“I like him, he is a goalkeeper who has important athletic skills. In all honesty I did not expect Genoa to get rid of him because he was doing his part. He is young and has all the characteristics to be able to have his say.”

He also touched upon Udinese’s Juan Musso, who has also been linked with taking over from Handanovic.

“Musso surprised me a lot, he has had constant growth this season. He is a goalkeeper who could take over from Handanovic but not tomorrow because Samir can play on up until he is 40.”

Ex-FIGC General Manager Valentini: “No Mysterious Disappearance Of Audio From Pjanic & Rafinha Incident In Inter vs Juventus”

Former Italian football federation (FIGC) general manager Antonello Valentini has dismissed former federal prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro’s claims that audio of an infamous incident during Inter’s 3-2 loss to Juventus back in 2018 was missing.

During the match referee Daniele Orsato failed to act upon a clear foul on Inter midfielder Rafinha by Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic.

Pjanic was already booked and despite smashing Rafinha with his arm he somehow avoided a second booking and remained on the field.

In a recent interview Pecoraro claimed that audio of the incident between Orsato and those in charge of VAR that night was missing and that was the only incident in all of that season that had no audio alongside it.

“As we all remember, it was a sensational error of judgement, that he paid dearly for by refereeing only second tier matches afterwards, Orsato decided to not pull out a second yellow card and then pull out a red card to Pjanic after he fouled Rafinha,” Valentini wrote in a column which appeared in today’s print edition of Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

He then proceeded to recall what he was told by referee designator Nicola Rizzoli when it came to why there was no audio of the incident.

“Nicola Rizzoli told me that the audio does not exist because VAR did not intervene and could not due to it not being one of the four things they can intervene in.

“Audio communications concerning VAR are only kept for educational purposes and are also sent on to FIFA and made available to IFAB, the body that set the rules of football.”

He concluded with: “The AIA (Italian referees association) management were summoned by the Federal Prosecutor regarding the Orsato case and they explained to him why the audio did not exist. There is no mysterious disappearance as Pecoraro tried to insinuate.”
