Italian Media Report Inter Feel They Lead Juventus In Race To Sign AC Milan & Barcelona Linked Sandro Tonali

Inter feel like they are leading the race to sign highly rated Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter feel that they are ahead of arch rivals Juventus in the race to sign the 20-year-old with thanks to the money they have banked through the sale of Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain.

Tonali is open to a move to either the Nerazzurri or Bianconeri as he wishes to continue playing his football in Italy and he will allow Brescia president Massimo Cellino to negotiate with the clubs.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to explain that Cellino would like in the region of €45 million for the Italian national team player, who has also been linked to Barcelona and AC Milan among others.

Inter could reach this fee by including add-ons and a player, although the report does not specify who that player could potentially be.

Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic, Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha & Gent’s Jonathan David On Inter’s Of List Replacements For Mauro Icardi

Inter have identified several young players as players who could potentially be brought in to replace Mauro Icardi according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Icardi completed a permanent switch to Paris Saint-Germain yesterday following a successful loan spell in the French capital and Inter now have money in the bank to go out and find a top replacement.

Although Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio claimed Edinson Cavani is not a priority, the report claims that Ausilio is in fact working on a deal to bring the 33-year-old to the club.

Cavani aside, Inter have many young players in mind. The first is Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic. The Serbian earned a big money move to Spain following a stellar 2018/19 season but has very much struggled for Los Blancos.

Hertha Berlin’s Brazilian wonder Mattheus Cunha is also on Inter’s list as is KAA Gent’s Jonathan David the report continues.

Inter Optimistic About Finalising Terms With Bayern Munich Over Ivan Perisic

Inter are optimistic about their chances of reaching a deal with Bayern Munich over the permanent transfer of Ivan Perisic according to a report in today’s print edition of daily Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Perisic joined the Bundesliga club on a season long loan with an option to buy and although that option has now expired, Inter are optimistic that they will be able to strike a deal with the German club.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted it is too soon for the Bavarian side to plan their upcoming transfer window but a permanent move for Perisic is certainly more feasible than one for fellow on loan player Philippe Coutinho.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that there is not so much optimism when it comes to Joao Mario and Valentino Lazaro.

Joao Mario is on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow and Lazaro is on loan at Newcastle United. Lokomotiv Moscow are highly unlikely to take up their option to sign Joao Mario whilst it remains unclear what Newcastle United’s intentions are for Lazaro.

Inter Won’t Offer PSG’s Edinson Cavani A Contract Worth More Than €7.5M Net Per Season

Inter have no plans to offer Edinson Cavani a contract worth any more than €7.5 million plus add-ons according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Uruguayan national team striker’s current contract with Paris Saint-Germain is set to expire at the end of this month and he is seemingly destined to leave the Parc des Princes for pastures new.

Inter are one of several clubs to have shown an interest in the 33-year-old prolific goalscorer and this report suggests that he is Inter’s first option in the event that Lautaro Martinez departs the club, amid ongoing links to La Liga powerhouses Barcelona.

Cavani currently earns €12 million a year in the French capital and do not want to go above €7.5 million a year plus add-ons, which is the same salary that current joint top earners Romelu Lukaku and January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen both earn.

Inter Want To Wrap Up Signing Juventus Target Sandro Tonali Before Going For Chelsea’s Emerson Palmier & Man Utd Target Federico Chiesa

Inter wish to complete the signing of Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali before pursuing moves for other transfer targets according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is seemingly only a matter of time until a deal is concluded with Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta at working trying to strike a deal with Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino, who wants €50 million for his prized possession.

Inter may be able to knock a little off of the price by offering teen sensation Sebastiano Esposito on loan as part of any deal.

Once a deal for Tonali is wrapped up, the report goes on to explain that Inter will then meet with Chelsea to hold talks over Emerson Palmieri with Inter looking to strengthen their full back department in the coming months.

Inter may also move for Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa but face competition from several others. As per the report, Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United are all also keen on the Italian. Fiorentina want €70 million for him but due to the Coronavirus crisis they will accept slightly less but still want the deal to be entirely cash based and not filled with players.

Brescia President Massimo Cellino: “Sandro Tonali Declined PSG, He Prefers Inter & Juventus”

Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino has admitted that top prospect Sandro Tonali prefers the idea of a move to Inter or Juventus over a move to a club outside of Italy.

Tonali is widely regarded as one of the top young Italian players out there at the moment and he has long been linked with moves to the Nerazzurri and Bianconeri but the arch rivals are not alone in having an interest in the recently turned 20-year-old.

“I fall in love with certain players and I would never want to sell them,” he admitted in an interview with Corriere dello Sport which appeared in today’s print edition.

“Building a good team around him, a team of satisfactions, was my dream but I realise, however, that the boy has important personal targets, a family that supports him, especially the mother.”

He then went on to reveal that Paris Saint-Germain have been in contact with him over the Italian national team player and also discussed some of the offers he has already received for him.

“Nasser Al-Khelaifi would like to have him in Paris, he wrote to me today but Tonali doesn’t want to go to France.

“He prefers Inter and Juve. Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has offered me €40m, Fiorentina are ready to do whatever it takes, but his fate is more or less sealed.

“Before the coronavirus, Barcelona had made an offer of €65m plus two very interesting guys valued at €7.5m each, one was a defender.

“I think the Catalan leaders received an answer they didn’t like. And not from Tonali. Sandro is a kid who lights up as soon as he sees a ball. On the pitch, I have seen him do impressive things, in a three-man midfield he can play anywhere.”

In conclusion he admitted that is not currently involved in negotiations with anyone over Tonali and is focused on finishing the Serie A campaign which is due to start back up again in a few weeks time.

“I’m not negotiating with anyone. There are still 12 games to play and the boy must remain calm. I’m curious to see how the team reacts, Brescia comes first.”

Andrea Stramaccioni: “If I Hadn’t Taken The Inter Job I Would Have Regretted It For Rest Of My Life”

Former Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni discussed his career move from the Primavera squad to the first team, his time in charge of the squad and his relationship with president Massimo Moratti in an interview in yesterday’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

“The morning after beating Ajax, among other things in the stadium where seven months earlier there was that match against Tottenham and those seven goals, I turned on my phone and saw that I had received two thousand calls from Piero who said, the president this morning has some strange ideas but, whatever he tells you, refuse.”

He then explained why the Piero Ausilio told him to refuse what he was offered by Massimo Moratti.

“I’ll say that Ausilio said it because he loved me. Inter was a powder keg, they had burned extraordinary coaches like Benitez, Gasperini and Ranieri, and he would have liked me to follow another path starting from Serie B.

“I told him I wasn’t stupid, I knew he talked like that because he loved me, but I, a guy in his thirties who came from nothing, how could I refuse Inter.”

Stramaccioni continued discussing what happened when he was being offered the job by the Nerazzurri president.

“I would have regretted turning it down all my life. It’s not part of my character, I’m not a coward and I’ve always worked to get this chance. When the call came, I was on my way to collect a prize with Roberto Samaden.

“Ausilio called me and said, don’t even tell Roberto, make up an excuse and come here. And he gave me an address where I had to show up. I, acting, told Samaden, look Robè, something happened, I have to go. So, I got out of the car and took a taxi instantly.”

The former Inter coach touched on how Ausilio’s tone was different when he called him again.

“Half an hour later, I called Ausilio to ask for an explanation. And he, who was probably on speakerphone, said in a different tone, we’re here with the president, everything’s going great, we’re having a chat, be yourself because you’re strong, you’re great.”

Stramaccioni discussed his meeting with president Moratti and how that helped to shape his future.

“After three minutes of pleasantries, Moratti changed his tone, pulled down his glasses. He looked at me, took a block of white paper, a pen and said a sentence that I will always remember, so mister, how would you make this Inter play? And he gave me a pad and pen.”

He spoke about what he told Moratti and wrote on that paper, and the Italian businessman’s reaction.

“And I said what I thought, that the team, with Sneijder’s injury, lacked a real playmaker and that could have been Stankovic. Then I said that Chivu couldn’t stay on the wings any longer and that Milito couldn’t be put in a duel with Pazzini.

“After fifty minutes, the words, ‘you know what, I don’t give a damn what they’ll think, but you’re the new Inter coach.’ Bam. I fell off my chair. The unthinkable had happened.”

Stramaccioni spoke about his relationship with former Roma and Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano.

“When Inter began to have problems with the rumours of Moratti selling the club, many of the player in the squad began to waver because the bond with the president was almost patriarchal.

“And probably Antonio, in the second part of the season, saw himself less at the centre of the project. Small problems began there. He wanted a personal trainer, but it was explained to him that at Inter, unlike at other teams, nobody had one.”

He continued talking about his fractured relationship with Cassano which only got worse after his reaction.

“In the end we all know what happened. If I went back, I would have understood him more. I don’t want to use the word protect. But, in those moments, someone like Antonio must be understood.

“Instead I took some situations head-on, counting on the fact that there was a relationship between us. But the situation, paradoxically, has degenerated more than if he had been a normal player. This is because I, for what I had done for him, expected more, and the same was true for him with me.”

Finally, Stramaccioni highlighted how this issue was one of the mistakes of his career with the Nerazzurri.

“I wouldn’t do it again today and I have no problem saying that, as I told the president in the heat of the moment, that, even if the player had gone too far, I was wrong. That was one of the mistakes of my young career.”

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin Believes Inter’s Appointment Of Antonio Conte A Success

Regardless of how the season ends, Inter have already achieved an important goal by appointing Antonio Conte, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin as reported by Italian media outlet FcInter1908 yesterday evening.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have learnt to work together, being a hard-working squad that enjoy playing together and have strong relationships both off and on the field.

Inter coach Antonio Conte has done his job by instilling belief in the project into the squad and his tactical system has been absorbed by the players in the squad well.

Signing Conte as the coach was the first step of a new Inter, Biasin’s report continues, as the former Juventus and Chelsea coach has managed to get the squad to believe that they can win and compete with top clubs in all competitions.

The Lecce born coach now has another summer transfer window to strengthen his squad and further develop his project with the Milanese club.

Ex-Inter Assistant Coach Sylvinho: “Roberto Mancini Believed Making Mauro Icardi Captain Of Inter Was The Right Decision”

Sylvinho, Roberto Mancini’s assistant manager during Mancini’s second spell in charge of Inter, discussed his time with the Nerazzurri and his current relationship with Mancini in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia yesterday afternoon.

First, he discussed the differences between himself and Mancini.

“We have different characters, both good. He’s really aggressive, he knows how to talk to the players, he’s a winner. But sometimes he needs to be calm.

“I’m more in this style, I do more mediation. It’s very easy to work with him, he’s a winner. He knows how to form a team, he knows how to take strong, important players.”

The Brazilian commented on whether he expected to be working with Mancini at Inter.

“I met him in Manchester City. The relationship there was born in five months, but very open. He saw me as someone who was very passionate about football.

“Then he made me the first offer there, but I didn’t have the right head, after 15 years as a footballer I wanted to return to Brazil. Then after 3 years he came back to Inter and called me, surprise no, but he made me very happy. I made a right and beautiful choice.”

He revealed that his time at the Nerazzurri made him realise that he wanted to be a coach.

“I started an important journey. I started 3 years in Brazil, then I made the right choice to go to Inter. Mancini is one of those coaches who transmits so much to you, he’s very strong, he has great experience. There’s no price to pay, you learn a lot every day.”

Sylvinho discussed which Italian club would be the most suitable for him in terms of their philosophy.

“Italian football has changed over the years, it’s tactical football and not an easy league with very strong coaches. But football changes very quickly, we’ve started to play more.

“You can see it for example with the national team, they have a beautiful philosophy, they defend well but they also have a lot of the ball. We coaches have to learn. In the last 5 years they’ve played a lot, I could coach a team in Italy.”

He touched on Mancini’s Italy squad and what he thinks of his former colleague’s work.

“Italy have great players, Mancini has courage, the players identify with him. He knows they have to play, and the players have to be happy. If a player is 17 years old, he’s great, he makes them play.”

Sylvinho spoke about former Inter captain Mauro Icardi and the decision to give the Argentine striker the role of captain.

“It was a moment like many others in football, Inter are a great team, the squad was in 7-8th place. Mancini took over and reinforced them with Miranda and others. Then we came fourth.

“That was the choice, Icardi is a young player with personality. Mancini saw in him someone who could go ahead with the project. He did well in my opinion, Mauro scores, he can play anywhere and he’s very strong in the area. He’s a really strong player.”

The Brazilian touched on his relationship with the 27-year-old.

“Normal, I had the advantage of speaking Spanish with him and others. Icardi is very calm, simple, a good person. He was always present at practice, there was no problem. In 2014 for 3-4 games in a row Mancini left him on the bench, but the relationship was very good.”

He discussed whether it was the right choice of Icardi to join PSG.

“It depends on the player, they have a great team, I don’t know how he is. It’s very personal, if he’s chosen that way, he can be happy. It’s nice to see happy players play, if it’s good for him, it’s good for everyone.”

The Brazilian spoke about if Lautaro Martinez would stay at Inter or be sold to Barcelona.

“He’s a very strong player and he’s doing very well, he scores but he’s complete. I don’t think he’s huge, but he’s a fighter and he annoys teams. Technically he’s very good, he can go all over the world, even to Barcelona and do very well. He’s young and he can grow, he’s a great footballer.”

Finally, Sylvinho suggested a Brazilian player that Italian teams should look into.

“I really like Matheus Henrique from Gremio. He’s a midfielder, he moves with the ball and controls the whole game.”

Brazilian Journalist Andersinho Marques: “Inter Linked Matheus Cunha Is An Extraordinary Player”

Brazilian journalist Andersinho Marques described Inter target Matheus Cunha and his qualities in an interview with Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com earlier today.

“He’s an extraordinary player, who has grown a lot in recent years. In Germany he made the leap in quality, now he can grow easily. He’s already ready to play in Serie A, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement.”

He discussed how the 21-year-old Brazilian striker could fit tactically into coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system.

“Cunha’s great strength is his versatility, he can be used in a number of ways, like all players who come from five-a-side football. He could play on both the right and left, both as a second striker in a 4-4-2 and as a winger in a 4-3-3.”

Marques suggested that Cunha would be a good fit for Inter and wouldn’t struggle to settle in Italy like some Brazilian players have in the past, with a good example being Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

“He could do very well, clearly Brazilian players need time to learn tactics. But he is already in Europe, he has accumulated experience in both Switzerland and Germany, so I’d say he could be ready already. For Inter he would be a good choice, he wouldn’t even cost much.”

The Brazilian journalist then spoke about another player heavily linked with Inter, Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri.

“He’s doing very well, he’s a footballer I like a lot and he’s also a friend. I’m very happy for his results in England, in the last few years he’s been followed by Inter and Juventus, in this period he has had really important growth margins and he’s also Italian. I think it’s too early to talk about the market and therefore his possible transfer to Inter.”

Marques touched on Inter owned goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão, who is currently on loan with Spanish side Albacete Balompie.

“For me he’s a champion, he has great margins for growth, but he can already be Inter’s second goalkeeper with his eyes closed. He can become the new Julio Cesar, he’s dynamic and has been chosen as the best player in the Youth World Cup. In Spain he’s playing and doing very well, if I were the Nerazzurri’s sports director’s shoes I’d take him back eventually.”

Finally, Marques spoke about the restart of Serie A and if Inter could still fight for the league title.

“There’s a question mark over the entire league, in Germany we’re seeing a high number of injuries. The team that will manage to lose the fewest players will be the one with the best benefits. To find out who will be able to fight for the Scudetto we have to wait a few days, while next year Inter will have to fill in some details and make the final leap in quality.”

The 21-year-old Cunha has made 20 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 901 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided three assists.
