Inter Milan have announced that striker Mauro Icardi has agreed to terms on a new deal with the club that runs through June 2019.
The Argentine striker tied Luca Toni for the Serie A lead in goals scored during the 2014-15 campaign. Despite interest from clubs across Europe including Atletico Madrid, Icardi's agent had said as recently as Wednesday that the 22-year-old wanted to stay with Inter.
