Lautaro Martinez will be rewarded with a new and improved contract by Inter if he is to reject Barcelona and stay with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The highly rated 22-year-old forward is being linked with a switch to the reigning La Liga champions pretty much every day and whilst Inter certainly cannot compete with the salary Barcelona are reportedly willing to offer him, Inter could still give him a sizeable increase to his current contract.

Lautaro is currently under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season and earns €3 million a year. The contract also has a €111 million release clause, a clause only valid to clubs outside of Italy and in the first two weeks of every July.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that Inter could offer him a new deal worth at least €5 million a year and the release clause will either be doubled or removed entirely.

Inter have prepared a contract for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Frenchman’s current deal with the Premier League outfit is due to expire in a matter of months and Inter are looking to acquire him on the basis of a free transfer to come in and take up a back-up role to Romelu Lukaku.

Inter are ready to offer Giroud a two year deal with an option to a third year and the annual salary will be lower than the €8 million he currently receives from Chelsea.

The report from the Milan based newspaper does however go on to warn that Chelsea could undo all of Inter’s hard work in recent months due to having a contract extension clause that they could trigger.

This season the 33-year-old Frenchman has found playing time hard to come by and has made just 13 appearances, in which he has scored three goals.

Inter management have come up with a list of five players who could be potentially brought in as a replacement for striker Lautaro Martinez in the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lautaro has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and for this reason Inter are at work to seek out a replacement for him in the event that he goes on to depart the club.

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one player on their radar and someone that a lot of other reports have linked to Inter too.

The Gabonese national team forward aside, Inter also reportedly have their eyes on RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who has a €60 million release clause which is only valid in April. Bayern Munich and Liverpool are both also interested.

Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic and Lille’s Victor Osimhen are all also on Inter’s list of potential replacements for Lautaro.

Former Inter Primavera manager Stefano Vecchi has spoken on a range of Inter related topics in an interview with journalist Nicolo Schira, which was broadcast live on Schira’s Instagram.

After some discussion about how he is coping with the current situation and management in the lower leagues, he was asked some Inter related questions and was asked about Inter owned winger Ivan Perisic.

“If he could express his full potential, there would not be many defenders who would be able to stop him. Unfortunately he is a bit inconsistent,” Vecchi stated.

He was asked if there are any players who he worked with whilst in charge of Inter’s Primavera that he has regrets about in terms of them not turning out as expected: “The one and only regret is Gnoukouri, who had to stop playing.”

Vecchi then shared his confidence in Inter president Steven Zhang to lead the Nerazzurri to success in the future.

“Despite being very young, he is a very charismatic person. He always has a smile on his face, conveys energy and confidence. He has always had an eye for me, I have to thank him. There was a very good relationship between us. He always replies to Christmas greetings or Easter, despite all the commitments.”

Vecchi then went on to reveal that Mauro Icardi is portrayed differently in the media to how he actually is.

“He is painted in a very, very different light. He is a very available boy and a serious professional. He gave me a hand and he has always been very helpful.

“He has always had the Nerazzurri at heart. He has always been seen as a finisher and he could become even better if he improved in terms of participation in the build-up. From a human point of view he is a very good boy.”

He also spoke on whether he thinks goalkeeper Ionut Andrei Radu is ready to play for Inter yet.

“He had some injuries at the beginning of his career but then he did very well in Avellino, as well as at Genoa. They made an incomprehensible choice, choosing Perin, although Radu was one of the last ones responsible for the situation.

“I think he needs another step to establish himself as an established goalkeeper. This situation may perhaps create an obstacle for him.”

Layvin Kurzawa has reached an agreement with Arsenal over a transfer in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from Spanish news outlet todofichajes.com.

The Frenchman is currently on the books of reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain and his current contract is due to expire at the end of this season.

Kurzawa will not stay on in the French capital and will instead embark on a Premier League adventure with the north London club who he has agreed a five year contract with.

As per this report the Gunners have won the race to land the former AS Monaco full back, who was subject to no shortage of interest, with Inter and Barcelona also widely reported to have been in for him.

This season the 27-year-old has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date. In just under 1500 minutes on the park, he has scored one goal and tallied two assists.

Former Inter attacker Benito ‘Benny’ Carbone has revealed he was living his childhood dream when he represented the Nerazzurri between 1995 and 1996.

“I was playing on the team I dreamed about, the club I had always cheered for. As a child in Bagnara, when I played on the street, I also pretended to be my Nerazzurri idols and when I got to wear the Inter shirt I was living my dream,” Carbone remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The former Italian youth national team player then went on to discuss what it was like to work under Roy Hodgson at the club.

“He was a good person and had his own ideas but he did some damage. You can’t think that Roberto Carlos can’t defend.

“As for me, he played me out on the left in a 4-4-2. It was a tiring job and I never had the right lucidity to do well in the final third and for this reason I only scored a few goals.”

He then admitted that he made a mistake by leaving Inter for Sheffield Wednesday.

“I made a very serious mistake. I could have stayed and played with Ronaldo and with other champions but instead I left as I was frustrated.

“I always remember Bergomi telling me I mustn’t leave and that if I satyed I would have become better than Donadoni. I was wrong to leave and I still have great memories.”

Next he spoke on former Inter teammate Javier Zanetti, who was his roommate.

“Javier Zanetti was inhuman. He had such dedication, professionalism and physical strength.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on today’s Inter and made a grand prediction for where Inter will be 10 years from now.

“Conte will lead the team to fight for important goals. In the next ten years, Inter will be a team at the top in Europe, on a par with the top teams now.”

During his short time on the club’s books, Carbone, who arrived at the club from fellow Serie A side Napoli, made 43 appearances across all competitions, in which he he scored a total of three goals.

Upon leaving Inter, he also played for the likes of Bradford City, Middlesbrough and Parma before retiring in 2010 after a spell with Pavia.

Inter have taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to celebrate the ten year anniversary of Maicon’s memorable goal against Juventus during the Derby D’Italia.

The Brazilian right back controlled the ball with his knee outside the box, juggled it a few times and then powered a volley across goal and past Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Maicon joined Inter in 2006 from AS Monaco and spent six years with the club before departing for Manchester City. During his time with the club, he made 249 appearances, in which he scored 20 goals and tallied 50 assists.

Inter have taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to share a video of legendary Inter defender Marco Materazzi’s Inter shirt colleciton.

The 2006 World Cup winning centre back has displayed his collection at his home and whilst the majority of the jerseys on show in the video are his, he does have several other jerseys of his former teammates from Ronaldo to Adriano to Wesley Sneijder among others.

Materazzi joined Inter in 2001 and spent a decade with the club, in which he made 276 appearances across all competitions.
