Inter have prepared a contract for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Frenchman’s current deal with the Premier League outfit is due to expire in a matter of months and Inter are looking to acquire him on the basis of a free transfer to come in and take up a back-up role to Romelu Lukaku.

Inter are ready to offer Giroud a two year deal with an option to a third year and the annual salary will be lower than the €8 million he currently receives from Chelsea.

The report from the Milan based newspaper does however go on to warn that Chelsea could undo all of Inter’s hard work in recent months due to having a contract extension clause that they could trigger.

This season the 33-year-old Frenchman has found playing time hard to come by and has made just 13 appearances, in which he has scored three goals.
