Inter Will Not Sign Cancelo Permanently According To Spanish Media

Inter will not exercise their €35 million buy-out option for Joao Cancelo at the end of the season, according to reports in Valencia.

Cancelo signed for the Nerazzurri on a season-long loan deal last summer and has convinced the club and its supporters with his performances in Serie A, but Inter’s financial difficulties relating to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations are thought to be too steep to overcome.

SuperDeporte reported on Monday that there is no chance they will be able to guarantee Valencia the €35 million they would need to pay before 30 May, in order to keep the Portuguese right-back beyond the end of the current campaign.

Valencia are said to have taken note of this development and expect Cancelo to return to them ahead of the summer transfer window, where he would either provide coach Marcelino with an important reinforcement or give the club a chance to raise funds by selling him to another European club.

The Spanish publication cite recent comments from Piero Ausilio about Inter’s tricky financial predicament as the reason Cancelo’s return to Los Che is now certain.
