Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic spoke with Premium Sport after the 3-2 win over Lazio that secured Inter’s place in next year’s Champions League at the expense of Simone Inzaghi’s side.

“We deserved the victory. Football sometimes gives and sometimes it takes away but we have reached the goal, we have improved, but this must be a starting point,” he insisted.

“It was always the goal [to be able to play in Champions League with Inter], but next year we have to be even stronger.”

The Slovenian shot-stopper concluded by revealing the point in the game where he felt the game changed in to Inter’s favour and helped them toward securing the all important victory.

“Football is strange, we did not score the third goal against Juve and we lost, but tonight they did not score and the game changed. Psychologically, the team who has nothing to lose is ahead of the other one.”
