Former Real Madrid player and Croatia international Robert Jarni does not believe Luka Modric will leave the Spanish giants to join Inter, assuring that the midfielder ‘really likes Real Madrid’.
Modric is known to want to leave the European champions and has already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, who are ready to give him a four-year contract worth €10 million per season in wages, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is desperate to keep hold of the midfielder and wants to change the 32 year-old’s mind.
Jarni, who spent one season playing for Los Blancos in the 1990s and also had spells Torino and Juventus in Italy, cannot understand why the club would agree to let him leave so close to the end of the transfer window.
“We know what the transfer window is like, I don’t believe all these rumours,” he told Spanish radio station Cadena Sar.
“I know that Modric really likes Real Madrid and the club don’t have anyone who can replace him.”
