Real Madrid president Florentino Perez’s strategy for Luka Modric is clear but despite this, Inter remain hopeful of signing the Croatian midfield maestro according to a report from Corriere della Sera.
Perez is taking as much time as possible and sees Modric as an irreplaceable part of the Los Blancos team that has already lost Cristiano Ronaldo and manager Zinedine Zidane ahead of the new season.
During yesterday’s presentation for new signing Thibaut Courtois, Perez refused to answer questions concerning Modric and his future with the club amid continued interest from Inter.
The report goes on to suggest that Real Madrid are looking at Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Miralem Pjanic and Thiago Alcantara as potential replacements for Modric which would suggest that Real Madrid are slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that Modric’s future lies away from the Santiago Benrabeu which is of course good news for Inter and their pursuit of the 32-year-old.
