The future of FC Barcelona’s Brazilian midfielder Rafinha is still shrouded in a clout of doubt due to conflicting reports from Spain regarding the player’s future.

According to Catalonia’s newspaper Sport, Rafinha, who spent the first six months of 2018 on loan with the Nerazzurri, is close to joining La Liga outfit Real Betis on a loan with an option to redeem set at €25 million. The player’s wages will be paid in full by the Seville based club and they will also pay €1 million in loan fees to Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo however reports that the deal has not yet been agreed as Barcelona have declined Betis offer of a loan and instead want to insert an option or an obligation to buy in the agreement, something the Seville-based club simply cannot afford.

Betis Vice-President confirmed last week that the club were interested in Inter’s Joao Mario but their interest seems to have cooled off since learning about the possibility that they sign Rafinha instead.
