Inter have matched their worst start to the Serie A season in the 21st century after last night’s 2-2 draw with Torino.
Sports analytics company Opta point out that twice before in this century the Nerazzurri have picked up just a single point from their opening two encounters and with a loss to Sassuolo and last night’s draw in this season, history has repeated itself.
In the 2011/12 season Inter lost 4-3 on the opening day to Palermo and followed it up with a 0-0 draw against Roma. In the 2016/17 season under the tutelage of Dutch manager Frank de Boer, Inter lost 2-0 to Chievo in their league opener and then drew 1-1 with Palermo.
1 – Inter had earned one point after the first two Serie A games played only two other times in the 21st century (2011-12 and 2016-17). Difficulty.
