No Goal For Icardi Yet But He’s Had Slow Starts Before

It has come as a bit of surprise that Mauro Icardi has yet to find the back of the net after two games this season but Corriere dello Sport recall that this is not the first time that the Inter captain has had a slow start.

In the 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons, the Argentine forward opened his goal scoring account for the season on his second appearance of the season.

In the 2015/16 season however it took Maurito until match day four to get off the mark. In the league opener he was forced off the field just 15 minutes after kick-off through injury and sat out of the next game with Carpi. He returned on match day three in the derby but could not score but the following week against Chievo he got his goal.

Up next for Inter is Bologna where the 25-year-old has four wins from four visits and also scored on his last visit at the Renato Dall’Ara.
