Corriere dello Sport have focused on three key factors to Inter squandering their lead in the 2-2 draw with Torino.
The first factor is a perceived mental weakness of the Nerazzurri.
“Inter are melting. It is a constant in the recent history of a team that won their last trophy in 2010-11 and that just in May conquered the qualification for Europe after a 6 year absence. The success in the Champions League decider against Lazio made an illusion that the psychological problem had vanished, however the same problem presented itself to Icardi and his companions just 8 days ago against Sassuolo, but also other times in previous years.”
The second factor is Samir Handanovic.
“Samir Handanovic is not entirely at fault for both Torino goals, but it is undeniable that on Sunday the Slovenian goalkeeper had a nightmare night. He had been among the best in pre-season and his performance has left the technical staff puzzled.”
Finally there were the difficulties of the defence and the Rome based newspaper also discussed the meeting between management and the squad yesterday.
“A comparison had to be there and it was there. Yesterday morning at Pinetina Ausilio and Gardini were present at this moment of unexpected difficulty and gave a signal of togetherness on the part of the management.”
