Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti is aware that Inter’s Champions League group stage will not be plain sailing and he believes that this could actually benefit Inter he explained in an interview with Inter TV.

“We know that all the big teams are taking part in this competition. We have a complicated and difficult group, but every game has to be prepared for in the best way possible. Playing against the big teams will also raise the level of our own quality. We must play with confidence and conviction and ensure we face every game aware of the difficulties but also the fact that our opponents fear us because we are of course Inter.

“This group will test us and act as a measure as to where this team can get to, but I repeat, when you face these teams then you also raise the level of concentration because you know you can not do anything wrong. We are ready for them [the stars of other clubs] to come to San Siro.”

Zanetti also spoke on Inter Primavera’s upcoming UEFA Youth League campaign.

“It will be a good test for our youth sector. They have proved themselves with all the victories over the last few years and we will prepare ourselves to the best of our ability.”
