Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at Inter’s Champions League group that has seen them pitted with Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and PSV Eindhoven.
“Barcelona is the favourite and there is an equally challenging rival in Tottenham, who last year fought to the end against Juventus with their great attack but much less convincing defence.
The Milan based newspaper also took a look at Inter, where many of the squad will be making their Champions League debuts, including club captain Mauro Icardi.
“Of course Inter’s fate is ultimately in their own hands and they can perhaps take inspiration from Roma’s run last year. Inter will be counting on Radja Nainggolan, who can explain to his new teammates how it is done. It will also be the first Champions League adventure for Mauro Icardi, who up until now has been exciting in the league but not had a chance to show himself in the Champions League. His transfer market value will be measured again soon.”
