By midnight tonight, Inter will have submitted their reduced squad list – in line with the settlement agreement with UEFA – for the Champions League.
Rather than have a 25 man squad like all of their fellow group stage teams, Inter are forced to submit a squad list of just 20 due to the settlement agreement, Gazzetta dello Sport detail.
This means that there will be the need to exclude some players and the Milan based newspaper state that two of the exclusions will be defender Dalbert and central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini. Dalbert and Gagliardini have been excluded for economic reasons with it understood that as well as having to submit a reduced squad list, the Nerazzurri must have a balance when it comes to transfer fee’s paid and received.
On top of Joao Mario’s – who is also set to be snubbed – fee, Inter needed to raise upward of €50 million and excluding both Gagliardini and Dalbert means they have met that requirement.
Gazzetta also detail that rather than register Tomasso Berni as the third goalkeeper, Inter may register youngster Raffaele Di Gennaro instead.
