It is 1-0 to Inter in their battle against Real Madrid as FIFA has given the Nerazzurri the all-clear in the Luka Modric case. After the rumours appeared yesterday, further confirmation today comes from Corriere dello Sport.
“No trial and therefore no penalty for Inter: the confirmation came with a letter, very short and formal, received yesterday by the Nerazzurri club. FIFA wrote that there are no conditions to open an investigation and to proceed with further enquiries because, after collecting information on the matter, the FIFA disciplinary committee has not detected any illegal behaviour. So comes the great regret of Real Madrid who hoped to bring Inter to justice over perceived wrongdoing.
“Over the past two weeks FIFA has analysed all the documentation produced by the clubs and entourage of the player and decided that there is no need to continue this investigation,” the Rome based newspaper explain.
The Inter directors had defended themselves explaining that they had not been asking for the Croatian, but that it was one of the agents of the midfielder, Vlado Lemic, who verified the interest to Ausilio during the negotiations that led Sime Vrsaljko to Milan.
