Mauro Icardi is unlikely to play in Argentina’s upcoming friendly with Guatemala, but should then take to the field against Colombia in the friendly in New Jersey, which is due to be played during the night between Tuesday-Wednesday in Europe. The same formula is also likely to apply to Lautaro Martinez, Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Icardi had a small muscle nuisance and had to miss the match against Bologna at the weekend having pulled up during the pre-match warm-up, Nobody, therefore, wants to take even the slightest risk at aggravating his injury and possible causing longer term problems.

Lautaro Martinez’s also did not play a part in the 3-0 victory over Bologna due to a problem in his left calf but the reports states that his situation has in fact improved slightly.

Both players took part in training albeit separately to the rest of their national team teammates as reported by the official Albiceleste’s national channels.
