Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez are following personalised training regimes while on national team duty with Argentina to help aid them in their recovery from the injuries they picked up over the weekend.

Both players did not feature in the win over Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara due to their respective injuries sustained in the warm-up but nevertheless reported for national team duty in the United States.

In the coming days Argentina will play Guatemala in a friendly and a report from Argentine news outlet Olé states that both players have told interim manager Lionel Scaloni that they are available to him for this fixture, even if skipping this fixture and waiting for the Colombia friendly days after is probably the safest solution for each player’s injury.

It is widely expected that the pair will be partnered together up top as Argentina experiment with a largely untested bunch as they look to go in a new direction after their failures at the World Cup over the summer.
