Tuttosport have taken a look at the global expansion of investment in football, from China in particular in recent years.
“Not just the United Arab Emirates but many other countries have moved on the football market with clear transverse objectives in the last few years. Many people say that football is now only an economic affair, but the impression is that the political aspects remain preponderant.
“In 2015, China entered in their own way in to the world of football. There was the boom on the transfer market that saw some large purchases made and the Chinese made investments in European clubs. A seemingly uncontrollable ferment to which the Chinese government has responded with a tightening on the export of capital that especially touched football. It is an immediate counter to the work done by Chinese businesspersons but the goal is to grow the game internally and produce a national that can finally be the country’s pride, with the long-term goal of hosting a World Cup at home.”
