Inter central defender Milan Skriniar has set his sights on making up for the poor start to the Serie A campaign in an interview with Sport from his native Slovakia..

“Against Bologna we wanted the victory and we went and got it. We were disappointed with the start of the season and now we have to make up for the lost points.”

The Slovakian defender also spoke on the Champions League group that has seen Inter pitted with Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and PSV Eindhoven.

“Everyone knows who Barcelona are and they are the big favourites to win the group. Tottenham is a team that has played the Champions for years now. Hosting Spurs right away could be a disadvantage for us, but doing well in our debut would be an excellent start for us in the competition.”

Skriniar concluded the interview by discussing his excitement about the upcoming match-up’s that will allow him to test himself against Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“On a personal level I can say that I can not wait to challenge Messi in Europe and Cristiano Ronaldo in Italy. The arrival of the Portuguese in Serie A, without a doubt, is an aid for the whole Italian game, because the spotlight on our tournament will increase.”
