Once the international break is over, Inter manager’s Luciano Spalletti’s ability to manage a squad over multiple competitions will come in to question as Inter make their long awaited return to the Champions League Gazzetta dello Sport detail.
Inter kick-start their Champions League group stage campaign in just under two weeks time against Spurs and while two weeks is certainly a long time in football, the situation is not helped by the fact 11 first team players are away representing their countries.
Once players return, there is very little time before Inter play host to Parma on the Saturday and then face the quick turn-around and go again on Tuesday against Spurs.
With long travel time to take in to consideration particularly for Inter striking duo Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez, it is unlikely that the pair start against Parma to allow them to be in tip-top condition for the Champions League opener. With both of them out, the Milan based newspaper suggest Keita Balde could be utilised as a striker.
