Tuttosport have explained why Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini was excluded from the Nerazzurri’s Champions League squad list alongside Joao Mario, Dalbert and Tomasso Berni.
“Gagliardini, as logical and understandable as he is, has accepted the choice of Spalletti with disappointment, but is also aware that Spalletti was forced to make the decision not for technical reasons, but economic ones instead. Certainly not taking part in the group stage of the Champions League is never easy but the limits of financial fair play have affected his situation a lot.”
Just because the Italian international has missed out at this stage of the competitions does not mean he can not then be included in later stages but it takes certain events to happen to allow him in.
“To allow him to be registered a player must come in who has a value equal to or greater than his,” the report from the Turin based newspaper details.
