At long last Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic will be able to play at the highest level in an Inter shirt when Inter kick start their Champions League campaign at home to Tottenham Hotspur in just under two weeks time.
The Slovenian shot-stopper has stayed loyal to the Inter cause and remained consistently one of the best goalkeepers in the world despite not being in European football’s top club continental competition since his arrival in the summer of 2012 at Inter from Udinese.
“Handanovic’s career seems almost inextricably linked to Inter and even though the search for an heir at the moment is ongoing, the goalkeeper has declared that he intends to play until he is 40-years-old,” Gazzetta dello Sport detail.
The 34-year-old, renowned for his penalty saving ability, still has a few years left to run on his current contract with the club and will almost certainly break the 300 appearance mark for the Nerazzurri by the time his contract is up.
